  1. On the bus to school today: 1: "Oh have you been to Kings Dominion? They have the most roller coasters on the East Coast!" 2: "What's the purple one called?" 3: "Oh yea, Dominator 305! It's really fun!" *Jumps out emergency exit*
  2. *Leaves thread before the "boat" people come.*
  3. Honestly, Volcano is definitely a fun ride with great launches, but after the first inversion I find myself bored with a repetitive, short layout with unrealized potential. Afterburn, while certainly not innovative or unique in concept, delivers an amazingly smooth, forceful ride with a great variety of inversions that come at an incredible pace. It's not really a contest for me; I don't base my coaster rankings on how unique a ride is, otherwise something like Ultra Twister (the Togo heartline coaster at Nagashima) would be #1, and that's just silly.
  4. Even if they did get a giant RMC woodie you would still find a way to be not satisfied. If it doesn't have a launch like Lightning Rod, you'd point it out. If it has 20 airtime moments instead of 21, you'd point it out. The Kings Dominion thread is capable of that. And what makes you think that? I liked Delerium and even BG's family woodie when they came out. What makes me think that is the fact that you're still complaining
  5. Please don't lump me in with the whiners, I beg of you.
  6. No, they actually have a very lenient rain policy. I've never see them shut a ride down for rain besides the Go Karts and I've been there in steady rain on more than one occasion (recently). They might close rides in heavy rain though and part of me feels like Avalanche might have problems with rain and I've just never noticed. Sometimes Bobsleds do so I'm just guessing. Ricochet may also but last time we were there we rode it in a light rain. Awesome, thanks!! Makes me a little less stressed about the visit! A word of caution: riding I305 in torrential downpours feels like being pelted with a BB gun nonstop.
  7. I was on a stopped train literally 10 feet before the apex of the lift hill on Fury, and no one gave a crap. It seemed like everyone on the train and on the ground seemed to logically come to the conclusion: this is normal, this isn't a safety concern. It seems that everyone who comments that kind of irrational BS is already convinced of the inherent dangerous nature of coasters, so it's not like they would've gone to Carowinds anyways. The only things those people seem to ride is the couch.
  8. I believe I asked this before, so sorry in advance, but do we simply upload a video to YouTube and hope you guys see it for it to be considered?
  9. Good idea, if only they had thought of that...
  10. Yeah they're still nowhere near comparable. Sure SFA has two (especially crappy) relocated old coasters since Kings Dominion built I-305, but quality over quantity my friend. Cedar Fair poured some good money into WaterWorks WaterCity SoakLand whatever, as well as two major new thrill rides that equal the investment of a small coaster each, and a massive kiddie ride expansion/major park enhancements on top of that. Look at the big picture and then tell me Cedar Fair is "forgetting" Kings Dominion. This. While I'm disappointed KD hasn't received a coaster in a long time, I can accept and understand why it hasn't, and I can also appreciate what CF has done for the park. I'd much rather have a good coaster come to us in a couple years than get a crappy one right now.
  11. Wow, they're pumping out trains fast!
  12. No he hasn't He was right about CP's dive coaster, Dollywood's woodie, Carowinds' giga, etc. long before any major rumors. And quite honestly he has more credibility than you or I do. LOL, I'm sorry, I just spit water all over my computer screen. Yes he made those claims, but only after they were heavily rumored and/or discussed on every major coaster forum on the internet. His predictions that don't follow already established rumors are almost always wrong. Sorry to kill your fanboy love for Coaster Studios and his "quality" content, but the guy piggybacks off of rumors that everyone already knows about, and then feeds it to his 10 year old fans who haven't stumbled upon a decent source of information other than him.
  13. Yeah, just look what's going on in the Valleyfair thread. Please don't make me go there.
  14. ^Can't argue with that, different people cope with the off season in different ways!
  15. I see this thread is going places quickly..
  16. Not really. It wouldn't prove anything more than some random schmuck off the street telling me KD was getting a coaster next year would.
  17. LOL at "confirmed." This kind of stuff happens every year, and every year we're disappointed. Literally nothing points to a coaster for KD in 2017, so let's all lower our expectations before they are forcefully lowered by the lack of a new coaster next year.
  18. If they were all gray tiles, I think it would look great. In fact, when CP posted the picture I assumed that they weren't done painting and hadn't finished laying tiles. To me it looks like an unfinished bathroom, which isn't exactly aesthetically pleasing to say the least. Oh well, my opinion holds no weight, and I'm sure it looks better in person! And after all, I doubt I'm gonna give a crap about the walls of the station when I'm hanging over the side of that drop!
  19. This is the most sensical post I've seen on this thread in a long time, take my
  20. I ride Griffon on a regular basis, can confirm airtime in the back is fun as hell. It's extreme floater for sure, and you just float all the way to the bottom of the drop.
  21. Thanks for the info! We'll arrive at Breakers on Sunday night, visit the park Monday and Tuesday, and then leave Tuesday evening. Although we won't get the 10 O'clock closing times, I'm still super excited!!
  22. Historically, how has late August been crowd and weather-wise?
