  1. After looking at it closer, I agree.. The vertical angle looks almost identical to Sheikra's 87 degree second drop. The height looks comparable as well. Regardless, it will *feel* like 90 degrees when you're screaming down it!
  2. I also get that impression. I like how unsupported the drop looks. However, am I the only one who feels that dive machines (given that they're mostly about the first drop) should have bigger drops (like sheikra and griffon)? I mean, this ride surely looks nice (especially with all the theming) and I'm sure it'll be fun but I get the feeling that if (for whatever reason) you want to go with a "small" coaster maybe there are better options (inverts, megalite-ish rides,...). As dive machines don't have that much more to give apart from the first (and occasionally second) drop those should be "epic". I know there are great small drops around but I keep wondering about this. Hmm I see your point here, but I think for the GP - they really won't question the size of the coaster like we would in comparison to other coasters they could have gone with. Even as a smaller Dive Machine, it'll certainly be a hit with the GP and a big ticket-sales generator for the park. That said, I really like seeing the variety and number of Dive Machines that have gone up in the past few years. 10 years ago, I would have never guessed the success and variety of installations of this, what I would consider, 'niche' product. Bravo to B&M!
  3. I'm in LOVE with the lift structure. I don't think B&M has worked on any custom themed lifts like that since Alpengeist's "ski lift" theme, no?
  4. 1. Montu 2. Afterburn 3. Dragon Challenge - Fire 4. BTR - SOG 5. Dragon Challenge - Ice
  5. POV looks awesome - really emphasizes the speed of the ride.
  6. Kumba's probably one of the most intense B&M's out there. It doesn't let up till you hit that final break run.
  7. Best B&M: Montu Best Intamin: Millenium Force
  8. Thanks for the report Jakizle. Superman is looking damn sexy - I'm gonna have to plan a trip out there later this year.
  9. The Chipmunk at Lakeside Amusement Park freaked me out but mostly in a good way. It's super old, shaky and looks like it was made from a glorified Erector Set. Besides it's sketchy look - it gives you an awesome out of control feeling for such a small ride.
  10. From a young age I've been a waterpark fanatic and have been lucky enough to visit quite a few. As I'm sure many of you share my affinity for waterpark fun, It would be interesting to talk about what/where your favorites are and why. Maybe your fav has the most insanely awesome water slide/ride you've ever ridden or is located in the most beautiful setting imaginable - let's hear about it! I'll kick this off with my favorite, Water World in Denver, CO. Why? For several reasons - for starters, at 67 acres it's huge for a waterpark! The grounds are well maintained with hilly terrain which the park takes full advantage of with its many in-house built river rapids style rides. In general, the ride selection is huge and eclectic. Standouts are Voyage to the Center of the Earth and Lost River of the Pharoahs - two amazingly themed raft rides complete with great special effects and animatronics. They also boast an amazing hydromagnetic water coaster and a gigantic wave pool. If you've never been - I highly recommend this place. Honorable mentions: Aquatica - Orlando, FL Kalahari, Sandusky, OH
  11. Sheikra's two drops Diamondback's hills (so basically all of it) Cheetah at Wild Adventures
  12. Haha - Even more so now that it's gotten a little darker
  13. Ooh they turned the lift lights on
  14. It certainly can be if the parks not especially busy. I've been on days where I was able to ride all major rides in around 3 & 1/2 hours, with some re-rides and beer breaks so it's certainly doable. I'd say since you're going on Thursday, you'll be fine
  15. Well I'll be damned - I didn't notice that till you pointed it out! Looks like we're not getting any tests today, unless they'll be doing night testing - but I doubt the first test runs would be night runs..
  16. What's wrong with rip ride? I do rather enjoy Mid-Course Brake Run: The Ride, so I'm surprised someone would find it their worst coaster. Hahahaha!! I tend to agree, I enjoyed "Mid-Course Brake Run: The Ride" as well. Not the best coaster by any stretch of the imagination but certainly not the worst either. That being said, I rode it when it first opened and haven't been back for re-rides ever since - maybe it's gotten worse?
  17. +1 for Zambia Smokehouse. Seriously the best BBQ Chicken I've ever had!
  18. Twister II at Elitch Gardens is retched. It's braked heavily, almost no forces, no airtime and extremely rough. It's seriously a waste of timber in my opinion. Although highly unlikely, I'm hoping for a RMC overhaul.
  19. I've been to BGT countless times, however, never been to BGW. Super excited to get out there this summer and see what I've been missing all these years!
  20. Kumba, Montu, Sheikra, Gwazi, Cheetah Hunt (growing up, I practically lived at BGT), Expedition Everest, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, Manta, Kraken.. I think that's it!
  21. Glad to see you're having such an awesome time in Orlando! Can't wait to go back and visit myself - until then, I shall live vicariously through your trip reports.
