Did you completely miss the past few pages of the thread that basically summed it up as "you cannot predict the weather at Cedar Point"? I was only joking I am one of the people who said to stop talking about the weather all the time! Also the picture shows fine for me. -

^^ Four rides in total. I would HIGHLY reccomend staying in the hotel and getting ERT on Taron and Raik. It was awesome. Do not get the quick pass. Firstly, the queues are amazing to be in. All are great. Secondly, it is overpriced and finally the only ride that has no single rider and gets very busy is Winjas. Go there first and you will be fine. If it is packed, then buy fast track, however this is coming from a guy that always used fast track saying even in busy days it is not worth it. The queues are part of the experiance, especially on Black Mamba, the detail is insane! -
Hi. I have two questions, I hope someone can answer for me. Firstly, when is the new coaster set to open. It says 2017, but it does not say it has opened yet. Secondly, does anyone know the actual opening ties for this park over the year. I cannot see when it is open and when it is closed, which is confusing. This park is so interesting and strange, yet with now two awesome coasters, and if I am going to St Petersburg, I would want to go when this is open.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

That's how it's marketed, sure. Really it's just a flat projection on a hemisphere, which will: a) contain no depth cues and will not be convincing or immersive at all and b) will be a parallax nightmare with anyone not sitting in the center seeing an extremely warped perspective. Lag is really not the issue for VR (in the common gearVR format) anyways. Well, it is obvious you have not been in a Holovis dome projection theater. After doing two dome theaters, and three VR concepts at Holovis, I have to say, the more immersive ones were the domes, however saying that, the VR was of a stunning quality. I rode a dune buggy simulator in a dome theater, and it was actually seriously scary, due to the fact it was completely immersive. The issue with the images being warped is not an issue. Even from the outside, looking into the dome, the images do not look warped. This concept is also more efficient than VR, as no cleaning needs to be taken place, or getting something strapped to your face. It also does not take away from the coaster aspect of a coaster. I, for one, am really excited to see this become a reality. -

These actually look like really good high quality characters. Holovis is something to look out for, hopefully we will see Cedar Fair get an immersive elevator coaster some time in the future. It looks like an awesome concept, and it looks like a good relationship has been made with first Battle for Cedar Point, then they helped out with Mystic Timbers, and now Battle for Kings Dominion. For those who do not know, the immersive elevator coaster is basically a vertical lift hill (like a lift), but with a dome theater around the train. The dome theaters give a similar sensation to VR, but it is more immersive, as you do not have any lagging for head movements, it is higher quality and there is no headset. At the top, the train is released from the lift, and the ride continues. The coaster aspect is managed by S&S. -

John Wardley's autobiography states that he was told that by B&M that their "coaster never stall". By this logic, there should not be a massive wind issue with their B&M rides. I don't know to what extent it is windy though! It just seems strange that the rides DO stall, despite B&M's confidence that they do not. -

Yesss. What a great time to be born! Strange how you love coasters which were made the same year you were born. Must be why I love Expedition GeForce (I love it really, which is why I give it harsh reviews (so close to perfect, that it could be perfect (annoying))). Does anyone else find that they like a coaster more as it is made on your birth year. Thanks for the reviews. -

^ If we are going by that logic, surely we should be able to say even the "worst" swear words on TPR, like fuck, without them being neutered or getting told off for saying them. -

What did you write to make that happen. I thought it was just something people said! Although the age restriction to join is 13, I was reading these forums from 9 (when I was more innocent than I am today) and was just thinking about those small people (Who yes, are small to me!) If we are assuming though that it is fine to swear due to the people who use this website, then surely we don't need to give a shit about swearing. That was intended -

Are you allowed to say straight out the S word on TPR? I thought it was either sh!t for an exclamation or s**t for a statement. There are some small people on this page, 13 and stuff, so if it is allowed or not, I would not do it. Just out of interest though, can you say it? -

I was at Phantasialand, and some really lucky school people from the UK were on a school trip at the park. One comes off Taron and states "That was OK, where did you say the pizza store was?" WHAT!! More obsessed with a pizza rather than a world class rollercoaster some people would die to ride. Some people just do not appreciate the things they get. -
I get you on wanting to be taken on a journey. That is why Nemesis is so good, as you get pulled up through the hill side, then roll through the canyons, but also with the intensity the inverts are known for. Banshee looks like a really fun ride, rather than intense. It is on my bucket list, and I love to watch it on the web cams. Also, good point, why are we not talking about the RM Craptor?
