  1. Really cool idea. I tried the slides today, but not the blue ones. The ones with helixes were pretty fun, but the ones that just go straight down were painful. Really thrilling addition, probably the second most thrilling ride in the park after Rip Cord. Since I saw ACES do three coasters he would like to see at the park and where I liked the idea so here is mine. 1. B&M invert. Put it's station where Wheel of Fortune sits and relocate WoF to Route 76. Squeeze the ride through the dorms/whatever else is back there, and have the bulk of the ride behind it. (2017) 2. Insane intamin blitz where dinosaurs alive sits. After the dinos leave in 2019 the area is used for a restauraunt until 2025.(2026) 3. B&M flyer station to replace the amphitheater, give it some really awesome interaction with the mid-way. The farthest out point would be a pretzel loop around the Power Tower bridge (2021) EDIT: 4. A Giga (never)
  2. ^ I talked to the Excalibur staff and they said there were rumors swirling of the ride being demolished. I also noticed the cars were covered on the side of the lift hill. Looks like the ride really could be removed. That's where I place my bet for the near future.
  3. Who is going to try out the slides tomorrow?
  4. Where on Excalibur did you sit where you experienced a gray out?! I grayed out during the tight helixes, but I had ridden Excalibur many times before and never experienced it so I am clueless as to why I got one that time. As for the Ferris wheel, that ride serves as a family friendly observation tower, and if they move it to route 76 you will be able to observe a parking lot and a high way so I am sort of against it. The reason I Say sort of is because I love the idea of a giant frisbee going in its old spot.
  5. Today I had a gray out on Excalibur and I was totally not expecting it. I had never had one before and I thought only coasters the scale of I305 would give you them. Renegade was a walk on, I got four rides in a row and it was epic. The HR ride operators were throwing candy at the people in the train it was funny. I saw workers riding the new slides.
  6. Nah, Steel Force is my least favorite out of the three.
  7. This is from a long time ago, but I like the topic. I love wild thing, but mamba is just SO much smoother especially around corners. And wild thing gets all shaky, when I took my friend on it they screamed the loudest on the ride, and there was a wild pack of 14 year old girls behind us. The other significant difference people forget about is that Mamba and Steel Force have the tall second hill, whereas WT has the low, extended floater hill. I also like Mamba a lot, but primarily because the first two drops are more parabolic. In the back rows, you feel more of a pure freefall sensation. Wildthing's first drop is less curved, which results in some quick pops of airtime in the back when you hit the straight part of the drop. I've never been able to decide which ride I like better. They both have different advantages, yet are so similar. I really like how Mambas trains are painted, but I like the Wild Things colors. Mamba could be a bit smoother, but WT has a better layout. Can't decide!
  8. They don't even need to put another train on because it was a walk on that day.
  9. Excalibur is a decent ride if you know where to sit. I don't see them removing it unless they really need the space.
  10. Do you remember which row you sat in? I rode Corkscrew in the front row yesterday and had a fairly smooth ride. I felt the same way about Renegade, but wooden coasters tend to run better later in the season, so give it some time. 5th row on Corkscrew
  11. Yesterday I discovered how to have a decent ride on Excalibur, 4th row.
  12. Haha had the same thought in the back of my head. I was at the park today, here are some notes. -Whatever they did to HR worked wonders, now my fourth favorite coaster at the park after the big three. (before it was Excalibur) -Corkscrew's updates look nice, I could only bear one rough ride on it though. -Renegade was smoother, but seemed less intense. It had terrible operations today. -Wild Thing does have a faster lift IMO. It seems a little more intense this year, and there is less rattling on the figure 8 turn around. -The park looks a lot nicer, the general improvements this off-season made the park beautiful. I do think they are starting to put more love into VF. -Thunder Canyon didn't change a bit, but I had a great experience on it. -The new slides look very promising, and I love how you can see them for just about anywhere in the park. -If anyone was there late today, you know of the downpour. I was in line for monster with some friends, then it just started pouring. We all ran to the nearest dry place, but I felt bad for the poor people stuck on Monster while the workers slowly let them off. Everyone on it was all like "GET US OFF THIS, IM SO WET."
  13. If anyone knows what this is please tell, but there is some disturbed dug up land behind mad mouse, with some cones to mark it.
  14. Sorry with all the questions, but one more. Should I buy a flash pass ahead of time to be safe or are they usually not sold out, cause in that case I would judge the lines before I buy. (again, I will go on a Mon,Tue, or Wed)
  15. How is Excalibur running? Anything suspicious about it?
  16. What would lines for Goliath be like on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday in June? (best guess)
  17. My guess would be the cones were to mark the flooded zone of the parking lot during the 2014 season.
  18. Your group will be considered as a whole... You all will have the same reservation times... That means you only get one reservation at a time... Your group will get one reservation on Goliath... No other rides are limited on the amount of times you can use the Flash Pass... YOU'll be fine with an out of state license... It's just a clunky way to word things... Thank you for the help
  19. Just so you guys know you can do coasters you haven't ridden. I haven't ridden the coasters I said, they are based off other's reviews.
  20. I will make my first trip to this park this summer and I have a few questions. On goliath you can get one reservation for the day, is that for one person or everyone in your group using the flashpass? Can you have two or more reservations going at once? Do any other rides have limited reservations? If you are in a group do you get one flash pass or does everyone get individual flash passes. I heard you have to leave your "state drivers license" behind to get your flash pass. This might sound dumb, but does "state drivers license" mean an Illinois drivers license, or just any U.S. drivers license? (I am from Minnesota).
  21. Yes, they are, but I am upset that the park has gone so long without adding something thrilling in the dry park. I don't know why people think it's so outrageous for a little complaining after 8 years of nothing thrilling in the dry park. Especially when you compare the park to the other CF parks and what they have been receiving recently. It's a bit early to classify the slides as "not thrilling" if you haven't been on them yet. I tested them last Saturday and let me tell you, they are VERY thrilling. I wouldn't really classify the water park additions separate from every other addition in the past because they are still in the same park being Valleyfair. I think as long as we got something thrilling in the so called "wet" and "dry" park, we should be happy for the meantime. Coasters aren't everything to a park, and there are a lot of things Valleyfair needs before a new coaster IMO Notice how I said something thrilling in the dry park. The waterpark doesn't really interest me, and it is completely different than the dry park.
  22. This is just a thread of your favorite coasters by the best manufacturers. You can say your favorites of other manufacturers too. Here are mine: RMC - Twisted Collosus B&M Leviathan Intamin - I305
