  1. If all the land was park of the actual park and it had s single gate and not separated parks then yes I believe so. Six Flags Over Georgia has 297 acres but 100 of those are parking lots and other facilities, 100 is the park itself and another 100 or so is undeveloped forest. The land may be 700 acres but the park would probably be much smaller than that.
  2. I would love a second park in the Atlanta metro. The metro area is so spread out and has 6 million people. It's a long distance to Six Flags for most people even though it's so close to downtown and the park is almost always packed. I don't see this happening but I'm all for it or any park really.
  3. This thread has been terribly slow! I was at the park last night and it was a lot of fun. Not too crowded. They have special hours for the dining pass and they weren't scanning it or even asking to see the pass, so it was all you can eat free food for us. They sell hard liquor now. Vodka at a premium price! The old Kartoon Kandy Kitchen which I believe was now called "U Name It" to the left of the Bugs Bunny World entrance has been removed. I didn't do the haunt attractions but the normal scare actors were pretty good and the park has most of the HITP lights up. They were testing some of them it seems.
  4. I like to think I've almost fully converted my boyfriend over the past few years. He doesn't know as much as I do, but he knows enough that he can understand pretty much any geeky thing I say and provide his insight. He still can't seem to remember every coaster's name so when he talks about some of his favorites from previous trips, it is like a guessing game for me!
  5. I usually visit Six Flags Over Georgia 15x per year. I used to visit more frequently before I became a busy adult and before I over did it and got a bit burnt out with visiting. I will probably visit a few more times on average now that the park is open March through early January. (I love having Holiday In The Park!) Other nearby parks I frequent: Lake Winnie: 3-4x Dollywood: 2-3x Alabama Splash Adventure: 1x Carowinds: 2-3x Wild Adventures: 1x Six Flags White Water: 3-4x
  6. Concur with the bolded, and I think it sums up Eurofighters in general. The ones that do not have the hold brake pack some real punch in my opinion. I find Dare Devil Dive to be probably the most enjoyable Eurofighter because it is smooth, lap bars only, and just a fun ride. If that drop wasn't held back it would have great airtime instead of just an ok mix of hang time and slight airtime. On the flipside, even though it has a holding brake, I find Mystery Mine's 95* drop to be the highlight of the ride (besides the theming). I'm not sure how the shaping of the top of the hill and the drop compare to each other, but Mystery Mine does have a great drop and it feels like the entire holding brake is before the majority of the drop, whereas on DDD it feels like the holding brake hangs onto the train much further. Maybe it is just an illusion because Mystery Mine's brake actually stops you and DDD's brake never fully stops the train. No idea, but I agree it doesn't harm the drop on Mystery Mine nearly as much.
  7. So glad to hear this. There is absolutely no reason someone shouldn't have a doctor's note or some kind of verification for their disability if they want to use a special service the park offers. Does this also mean they will not be given immediate exit access to go on rides? I am not totally against that but it is abused I think, so maybe putting them on a Regular or even a Gold Flash Pass would be a more fair way of doing it. I'm not sure what that would mean for rides that are not a part of Flash Pass though.
  8. I would like to hear some updates too! I'm really a fan of this park and think they've made so many notable additions recently (not a fan of log flume removal but Monster looks amazing).
  9. People don't usually relate Six Flags to the topic Best Theme Park Food, but... The "Bacon Cheddar Ranch Waffle Fries" at Six Flags Over Georgia are amazing. They have a chicken version that is quite good too. The waffle fries are almost always cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, and they have this orange color from the seasoning that I believe is in the oil they fry them in. The cheese is standard Ortega but when mixed with ranch and bacon, it is perfect.
  10. I want to ride before they replace them and feel that extra kick in the final section of the ride!
  11. I think Disney clearly knows what they are doing and knows what the proper price point is for these passes, so anyone in shock over the pricing simply isn't someone Disney is targeting as a buyer and isn't someone who is going to buy one. Personally, I am more of a coaster type (although I do love great atmosphere and great service) so I am personally glad that I don't live near Disneyland or even more so Disneyworld/Orlando particularly, and that I can spend $60 for unlimited entry into every Six Flags park and Six Flags White Water for free now through January 2017, gain free parking at all of those properties, and enjoy numerous pass holder perks. Additionally, I paid $89.99 for unlimited lunch, dinner and a snack every visit to any of those properties through January 2017. I know Six Flags is a far cry from Disney, but I love that for what my tastes are, the pricing is so cheap that I actually wish they would raise it so the parks wouldn't be so busy. If I lived near a Disney property, I would still want one of these top tier passes, and I would probably be broke.
  12. Sunday was really dead!! And they had all trains running on the coasters.. Trains where leaving with two or three riders only haha.. at least until 3:00 they where.. I left at 3:00 (I was there three hours Sunday) and there had to be less than 200 cars in the lot.. I'm surprised they didn't close Sunday an they may have! I was able to ride superman several times.. They had to lock me in manually so I said "just leave me locked in until someone comes" they did that I really love how SFOG lets u hop back on if there are open seats. Dollywood is so uncool about that and ALWAYS makes you walk back around.. SFOG has never made me get back in line and has even allowed me to hop in any empty seat on the coaster.. Yeah all their decorations where much bloodier than years pass! The popcorn machine is just the tip of the iceberg ha-ha That popcorn machine really is great! When I visited a few scare actors did a great job and I do like that they upped the decorations this year. Yes, I was just at Dollywood the weekend before last and it was raining so the park was dead, but as always they didn't allow re-rides. They actually tell you to run around and I have been run into and pushed many times due to that. It is extremely unsafe and they would be much better off letting people re-ride in any open seats. Even at their ACE event last year, the train during ERT on Thunderhead was half empty and they were making enthusiasts go around. It just makes no sense. We should start writing to the park about it, maybe it will get through to them. I do love how SFOG is so cool about it, letting you re-ride anywhere you want, re-enter open rows in the queue, encouraging people at the exit to jump back in, etc. It just makes everyone so happy. It sounds like Sunday was a great day to go! I wish I was there.
  13. That seems (to me) to be a trend with RCCA coasters, between SoB and Rattler, the amount of sway in the structures is astounding. And lets not forget White Canyon over in Japan. To me it seems like the larger RCCA coasters were destined for failure. Just take a look at the infamous . That video never loses its shock value no matter how many times I view it. Seriously, after all these years I still see that and just think to myself how that thing stayed in one piece. I know flexibility is important to the structure but wow.
  14. ^Glad you had a great time even with the rain. Yes, the park often closes due to low attendance and blames the weather, when the weather isn't even that bad. That really put a damper on my birthday one year when we went to the park on a Friday in October just to have them close 2 hours after opening. I was at the park from around 9:30 to closing on Season Passholder Appreciation Night. Sadly couldn't come earlier but it wasn't too busy so I'll take it!
  15. Anyone going to brave the rain and attend Season Passholder Appreciation Night tonight? As long as they are still running 2 trains on everything, it should make for short lines compared to the long lines from last year.
  17. For those of you that think the water park revival is unrealistic, keep in mind it is likely just the lazy river and some lounge space. It is a very cheap investment for the park. Also, for those concerned it won't attract anyone being just a lazy river, the local population seems to really like the old water park and people have been wanting it back open. There are many people that visit the park's beach and swim, but do not buy into ride wristbands. I am sure having the lazy river may attract beach goers to pay to enjoy the lazy river. It is all about getting people around the park into the park spending their money, and this could help as long as the renovation of the lazy river and necessary facilities is very low in cost.
  18. This has been in discussion for a few months now, and I don't think it's that bad of an idea if it isn't expensive. I believe they are only focusing on the lazy river, but that's better than nothing! The slides are possibly damaged beyond use. Honestly, I am sure it would attract people from the beach, even if it is just a lazy river and hopefully a decent lounge area.
  19. GIBs are amazing. I also find Ninja at SFOG to be a great, intense, and unique coaster. I absolutely love it and while it isn't butter smooth I never understand all the hate. Maybe vest restraints can save it for those whose head is low enough that it gets bashed.
  20. Location Services needs to be turned on and you need to be in the park to be able to use it. Just a quick note, I have used it 3 different times so far. Twice it hasn't worked. I believe they are still working out the kinks for a full release for next season. That's useless to me if you have to be in the park to see the wait times. I was planning to use it to gauge what days the lines are short and worth visiting. I would visit more frequently if they let me see what the lines were like before I head to the park. I feel like it would only help to fill the park on less busy days...
  21. In terms of ejector airtime throughout the entire ride, it has to be Skyrush. I don't know of anything that even comes close.
  22. I love the drop on Kraken. The entire coaster is great. My favorite B&M floorless.
  23. Dare Devil Dive at Six Flags Over Georgia is a solid coaster and butter smooth, but the hold brake that is supposed to make the drop more intimidating actually makes the 95 degree drop feel like nothing special at all. I wish they could just turn that hold brake off for good. The Beast also has a terribly disappointing drop considering how great it seems like it would be. The entire coaster is over-trimmed and really not that exciting unless you ride it at night (I love the concept of fast and low to the ground covering a couple dozen acres of forest though!).
  24. It isn't that the first drop on Magnum is much better than that trio of Morgan hyper coasters (although it is better), it's that the rest of magnum (especially the return half) is significantly more exciting.
  25. THIS! It's a solid ride, but having a single loading platform and only 6 people per dispatch, it crawls. It usually has a 2 hour line and always seems to have at least 1 hour, even when the park is dead and everything else is walk on. Great ride. Capacity nightmare.
