This all comes down to one thing: Parential Responsibility. What we saw in this case was a total lack on the parents part. IMHO,no right-minded parent would take a child that small on a ride that intense. I know, we'll hear the whole "Roller Coasters Pull More G" saw I heard on every other damned board and site right after this happened, yes the intensity on MS is lower than most coasters, but its for a longer duration. I think the first thought in their mind should be "Maybe we should just skip this ride until next time" .

Kansas City Kansas WHAT!?!?!?
ChrisZer0 replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Galveston would (technically) be in the houston market, if you look at demos and population. That park is going to be a boon for the local economy in galveston. -

The schlitterbahn empire grows even further. I hope they get smart and build that year-round park they've talked about in Dallas-Ft. Worth. -
Ok...lets just say it and be honest: The park has been on the decline for nearly 2 decades, SF hasnt sunken money into this park since the late 80s and it showed. I know its sad when something you enjoyed is closed down, but this maybe the shot in the backside houston will need to actually attract this long-rumored "Disney Texas" project that has set on the back burner for years.

MADTV is more fun and over the top, I like the show for the fact it runs its "face characters" in more sketches (Stuart,Bae Sung,Marvin Tikvah, Bible Dude,Abercrombie Guys, ect..) great parody(any of the "educational film" sketches) and has a decent rotating cast(adv. stay is 3-4 years). SNL has lost its direction as its current casts shows. Save Seth Myers, Horatio Sans and Fred Armisted, the shows unwatchible.

Robb, gotta throw in my love for the report as well, this was great. I esp. like the DLP and Parc Asterix updates. GF and I are going to be hitting UK/France/Netherlands next year for a vacation and we've been debating best one/two day park trips to these parks. Just curious, where did you stay during your DLP/Parc Asterix leg(s) of the trip?

Six Flags, Why is it so bad ?
ChrisZer0 replied to rosscoe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Im a SF gold passport holder (SFOT), also worked at the park in the early-mid 90's. For me, its like a member of the family that hasnt gotten alot of respect over the half decade (during the premier managment reign). Im hoping the new managment group(whomever they are) will take SFOT/SFFT/SFOG/SFMM and their side parks(Water),spin them off into their own division, invest money into these parks and make it a world-class destination. -
Playground Trip Report!
ChrisZer0 replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Walt also intended EPCOT to be a self-enclosed city with underground parking as well . I agree its more of a place for adults to relax, hang out and enjoy your time away from the "kids". MK has always been for the kids and the new pooh playground reflects that. Its greatly themed and it give them a place to strech their little legs anf play. -
Playground Trip Report!
ChrisZer0 replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
OK disneyphiles, lets be candid, this area is probably a shorter-term attraction until they decide to build a new e-ticket in the space in a few years. For everyone whos braying about this and saying this isnt "up to snuff" for disney, two words Lighten Up. Theres a helluva lot worse things to worry about outthere these days(gas prices, economy, natural disasters,ect..) than a kids playground at WDW. It was built for the tikes(2-5) in mind, not the fat ACErs and ACEr wannabes who visit MK for their steak, potato and mickey mouse ice cream bar fix. I apologize for going off,but people who argue about the petty things (like park land use)get under my skin. -

Golden Ticket awards announced at SFFT today
ChrisZer0 replied to a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Golden Ticket is alot like the College BCS Poll: Unscientific, untrustworthy, and certainly full of nepatistic people. ACE'ers are a notorious crowd for griping and complaining when their experience isnt up to "snuff". I have to agree that holiday world only got the votes because they put up with all the fat ACE'ers that mill through their park like lost, overfed, whiney cattle. -
SFOT 1994-1996 1994: Worked in games at park, handed "race games" and eventually moved to "Looney Toons USA", had a kid jump off the convoy ride and left. 1995-1996: Moved to internal park department (Cash Control),which meant air conditioning and a dollar and a half raise ($5.75/hr),as well as all the hot college chick tail I could handle.

Six Flags for Sale!
ChrisZer0 replied to CoasterFanatic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Robb Alvey, who runs a website for roller coaster fans, agreed that Six Flags needed new management. "When Magic Mountain built Scream in 2003, they just plopped it down on a corner of the parking lot without even an attempt to theme it," Alvey said. "You can still see the stripes of the parking spaces on the asphalt beneath the coaster." This sounds about on par with the Premier managment era of the parks, cheap and easy. Another fine example of this is at my home park (SFOT), where they have thrown in both a trampoline jump and go-kart track smack dab where a line queue was for shockwave. SFOT also hosted a "wild animal" picture area, where a tiger cub ended up badly injuring a small child in the process. I certainly hope whoever takes park management over will realize that it takes more than "cheap thrills" to make a themepark a legend. -

I going to go with the crowd here on SFOT and SFOG, they'll going to be sold to an outside group (Cedar Fair/Paramount/Snyder INC.) who'll more than likely will give them the TLC and attention they deserve. -
I recently had my wisdoms yanked out...thinking about getting smartbraces (behind the teeth) to straighten out the lowers, anyone had these?
