The Official TPR Bag of Crap Thread!
GCI Wooden replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Back in November I won a Switchback (ZDT Amusement Park) Railway card from IAAPA. I was expecting a single card to come in the mail, but TPR went above and beyond and sent me a full Bag-O-Crap! This came in the mail today (Christmas Eve), and it is exactly what I wanted for Christmas. Switchback Railroad Card Six Flags Magic Mountain Park Map Digital Copy of a TPR Magazine issue (I didn't even know there was a magazine!) Coaster Expedition Volume 6 Theme Park Review Magnet Club TPR Magnet Epcot Park Map A Food and Wine Festival Discovery Passport Magical TPR Pen! 2014 Club TPR Ornament (Just in time!) A bunch of stuff from a movie called "John Carter", I haven't even heard of the movie before. Thank you so much! It amazes me that you put this much effort into making your members happy. This could be the best Christmas gift I get! -
Will B&M ever top the charts?
GCI Wooden replied to Password121's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Banshee and Gatekeeper look like amazing rides that I REALLY want to try, and Thunderbird and Fury 325 looks amazing! In my opinion, they are doing amazing and I am surprised that there aren't more of them in the polls. Sure, Maverick and Outlaw Run look like crazy intense coasters, but I'm perfectly ok with a less intense coaster. I don't mind the direction that B&M is going in, they are making solid coasters that are popular, why would they change what they are doing if it works? Are people really complaining about the "roughness" of a B&M, that is just sad. -

^That is what I think it could be, as I look at my still-green lawn. Under budget is always good, and I'm really excited for vertical construction! -
GCI, The Gravity Group, and RMC are actively proving that wooden coasters are not obsolete. However, they are more expensive to maintain than steel coasters, and they are louder (I believe that is an issue at BGW). I would love to see more wooden coasters (who wouldn't), but I don't see any wood coasters going into Seaworld parks until they start acting like theme parks again, and if BGW has an issue with noise, there isn't really a way to fix that. I hope that BGT can get a woodie to replace Gwazi. Anything is possible, right?

Sometime in August. When was the last time you ate sesame chicken? -

I love the lightning strike in background! Does Nolimits randomly do that, or did you set it to do that? These projects all look really good! If you don't mind me asking, about how long does an average project take in Nolimits 2? -
False, I use Internet Explorer or Chrome. Both work, but my computer doesn't even have Firefox. The person below me has seen Big Hero 6

Granted, you start waking up at 3:00 A.M. I wish that Nolimits 2 was available as a disc. -

In that video, the people on the lift hill look really small. It really reminded me how large this thing is. Also, the shot at the end where it shows you the drop, WOW, that is amazing. -

Maybe they could turn the trims off if the want to improve guest expierence. That would be an easier fix than buying new trains, right? I think if they let the train fly through the MCBR, those airtime hills might actually provide airtime! The first part of Wild Thing is great, I love the first three drops. The turnaround is strange, but it's actually a lot of fun. The thing about Wild Thing, is that you slow down so much on the MCBR that the "grand finale" is boring. I really think that the thing that makes people think Wild Thing is boring is the return trip. I say, keep the old trains and turn the trims off, that will give the ride it's "WOW" factor. -

^Looks like I'll have to get out there and ride it to see the view. Yet another reason to get out to the park (as if there wasn't enough already ). Also, 1.4 tons per car, that's amazing! Sometimes I forget how large coaster trains are. -

No, that was Steven in our IT department. Could you go tell Stephen that he is amazing for me, please? Also, I'm looking forward to the view from Crow's Nest, it should provide wonderful views of Thunderbird and Voyage. I have a feeling that if cameras are allowed on the ride (I have no idea what Holiday World's on-ride photography policies are), we will be seeing a lot of pictures taken from up there. -

Are you suggesting you can't have a forceful launch that is reliable? Polar Espresso, I like it! Were the Gravity Group guys the ones who came up with that? -

Opening weekend of the world's tallest Giga coaster, I'm pretty sure that crowds will be crazy. -
I feel really stupid asking this, but is Nolimits 2 a disc or is it a download (like once you pay you download it from the site)? I looked at the website and didn't find anything. (All I found was that the demo was a download) Also, if the computer you downloaded it on crashes and you get another one, is there a way to transfer it to the new computer?

I love Grand Marais, Minnesota. Most years our family goes up to Gunflint Lake in the area and it is absolutely beautiful. The hiking, kayaking, canoeing, I just love it. Natural beauty is everywhere. Sven and Ole's pizza is pretty darn good as well.

^Or what I have realized, when parks post about ANYTHING, someone will post something about how amazing Millenium Force is. Here's an example. Ok, the thing that bothers me about this, is that Millennium Force has nothing to do with the live music the park is promoting (this is a completely made up, but I have seen this type of thing happen so many times). NOTE: I am not trying to say say Millennium Force isn't a great coaster, and I'm not trying to say that Cedar Point isn't a great park, I'm just saying that people who "comment" on a post without their comment having anything to do with the post. This type of thing happens on TPR's page a lot, TPR will post an awesome POV, then people ask what the ride is called or where the ride is located when it says it IN THE POST! -

^beat me to it, that picture is amazing. Actually, all those pictures are amazing, thanks Robb and whoever sent those in. At first, I wasn't sure if that yellow stripe would turn out well, but it looks really good. If only this ride wasn't over 18 hours away from me... -

^I hope it means something, such as a potential wing coaster in the future. About CW, I highly doubt that they would remove a coaster, and then remove another coaster the year afterwards. -

I don't understand why people want Wild Thing's train to be switched out. Sure, it's a bathtub on wheels, but it's not uncomfortable. I'm open to any new coaster as long as it isn't Vekoma. A B&M invert would be great for the park, and I would love it if one came here. Now the GTX, I've seen it on multiple people's top 5 list, and a top 5 coaster at Valleyfair would almost be too good to be true. Lightning Run looks amazing and I would love to see it at Valleyfair. Just a question, but the squeezing wheels on Lightning Run, is that normal? And what causes it? -
Six Flags question

I would love to see more giga coasters, but why would they pay $30,000,000 for a B&M giga when they can just build a $10,000,000 RMC Hybrid coaster and still have an amazing new coaster? -

Hey guys, I just looked at the webcam and I realized that all of Windseeker's LED lights were on. I was just wondering why they would do this. Why would they pay for the electricity to light up the lights when no one can see them? Also, new blog entry. https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Ill-let-this-slide
