The last new Coaster in your Count
BlahBlahson replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Slinky Dog Dash!!! The ride is much more of a kiddie coaster than a thrill coaster, but the theming is Outstanding on it, and you get some great views of Star Wars land! It was coaster number 363 and I need to hit 400 before I turn 30 next year. Maybe a trip to Texas, finally. -
Whenever I get to go out to Japan, I know exactly what I want to do. Two Week Trip, with 4 days at Tokyo Disney, 1.5 days at Universal Japan, 1 day at Nagashima Spaland, and another 7.5 days to fit in flights, Temples, Arcades, Food, and maybe Tokyo Dome or Joyopolis. Nagashima Spaland has always reminded me of Cedar Point, and it seems to get even better every time you guys go in terms of both Thrills and Operations. It's a must in Japan.

I was able to take advantage of a Toy Story Land Preview today...boy oh boy was it amazing. Disney treated us like total VIPs. Slinky Dog had an almost walk-on level wait time and I rode 7 times. The ride reminds me of a slightly souped up and launched version of Seven Dwarves, it crawls over some elements but the ride is perfect for young families, the height requirement is only 38 inches I believe. I didn't get any airtime, but still a ton of fun, front seat was my favorite. But the DETAILS in this land. They are incredible. much better than the land in Paris, there are so many cute elements, humor, new life-size versions of classic toys. Honestly I expected much less, but I left wanting to come back, Slinky Dog really anchors everything visually. Hollywood Studios is going to be my favorite park down here when 2019 is over.

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2018/06/new-spooky-experiences-coming-to-mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party-at-walt-disney-world-resort/ SPACE MOUNTAIN SEASONAL OVERLAY!!!!!!! I'm kind of freaking out about that happening. Hyperspace Mountain was my favorite thing at Disneyland and I'd love to see more things like that.

Have you given any thought to Doing Either Wildwood, or Rehoboth/Ocean City MD between Great Adventure and Six Flags America? That could be beach and also more interesting IMO than Myrtle Beach. Ocean City and Rehoboth both have amazing Bill Tracy darkrides. Wildwood has the Park, Credits and a large beach, and Gale Force in NJ ocean city is pretty close as well. I would pick either of those over Myrtle Beach for sure. If you've never done Busch Gardens, make sure you do though. On this trip or make another one like you were saying.

^ Fantastic, I won't count on it fully but I would love to see that 4D film again, it's probably my favorite I've seen and my pass expires on the 29th. Maybe i'll make two trips before then though, because Legoland is awesome. -

WOW. This park is on the ball, Chima hasn't proved to be a long-term property and seeing they are going to swap it out for something much more popular is an automatic win. I wonder if they are counting the change as one of the two new rides. Good job Legoland! So For 2019 we now have: -Harry Potter Motorbike Coaster -New Show/Attraction in Hollywood at USF -Mickey's Runaway Railway -Star Wars Land -The Skyliners at WDW -Multiple new attractions at Legoland based off of their second best original IP ( <3 Bionicles). -Sesame Street at Seaworld -Unannounced but likely Busch Gardens Project (and an outside shot that Ratatouille @ Epcot) What a dream year. Adam, Do you know if there are any showings of the Lego Movie 4D during Lego Star Wars days or is the theater entirely taken over by Star Wars? I'm heading there on the 20th. -
Worst Coaster Ever?
BlahBlahson replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Zamperla Volare coasters are the worst coaster ever. The loading is so awkward, the ride has terrible capacity, the whole "human containment cage" is made of hard plastic, the transitions on every part of the ride are just awful...And they somehow sold multiples of it. There is no way to brace yourself from feeling some pain. And the pain beats the thrill of it. Worst coaster ever! -
TPR 2017 Coaster Poll Results!
BlahBlahson replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Seeing nothing but SLC's and Volares on the bottom Steel somehow brings me...joy. Also congrats to Medusa Steel coaster for beating so many taller, faster rides. It seems like the world unanimously agrees that the pace of that ride is ridiculous. Mystery Mine and the Smiler seem WAY too low for me. Are they uncomfortable or rough for some? I think they are basically perfectly themed, ultra-loopy, fun, wild-mice thrill coasters. I Love the Gerstlauers. Saw: The Ride to a lesser extent as well. -
Fast and Furious seems like a simulated-fun experience I'll skip on most visits, but I'm glad to see live-acted elements in the vein of Kong queue, Disaster, and T2. That's definitely something that is in alignment with Universal's history. In a revised Timeline, Diagon Alley already replaced San Francisco and Universal's HR buildings entirely, and Jaws still exists. Fast and Furious is just being completed in the space that Terminator occupied, which closed in 2015. The third Bill and Ted movie was announced early last year and the HHN show was never cancelled. Dragon Challenge had a limited period of non-dueling but has since been restored due to Universal's loose article policy. A 3rd gate with Super Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Dreamworks, Nick Jr, Classic Horror Monster, Game of Thrones, and Fantastic Beast properties has already been announced for opening in early 2021. Volcano Bay was actually built in the space between kidzone, men on black, and the back of the property near portofino and hard rock. You can use bus or water taxi transport to get there, or walk. Kong was built the same, I guess lol. But with more animatronics.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread

Don't even think about using Public Transport to get all the way to the park. It's an utter joke. When I say an utter joke, I mean it takes 1.5 hours to go 15 KM, and will get you to the park at least an hour after opening time, leaving an hour before closing time. And you'll miss early admission benefits, which are crucial. An utter joke. Do get a cheap hotel in a close by city, served by a rail station, booked as soon as you can. Splurge on a Taxi. I was able to share a taxi ride with another family on the way back last year from the park to Stoke-on-Trent, where I took trains to Manchester in the evening, then Blackpool in the morning, but I had to be flexible on travel and ask around at the Taxi stand whom was going to a city served by rail. I would think it's better to have your Rail/Bus travel booked early for the savings, then just do a taxi to and from the park as the most convenient (if unfortunate) expense. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I feel like since people judge every coaster based on its POV then I am perfectly allowed to rank this ride as my #1 anywhere in the world, even though I've never ridden it. I mean, LOOK AT IT. Sans an underground tunnel or something it's everything one could ever want in a coaster. If anyone bitches it will probably just be them saying they didn't fit in it or that it's too long and too intense. -
I predict Star Wars will be a straight up Up-charge to book Fastpasses for, or at least something they haven't done before. This park will be crazy once it opens. AWESOME crazy, but seriously crazy. Battle Escape, Millennium Force, Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog, Alien Saucers, Star Tours, Runaway Railway, Tower of Terror, Rockin' Rollercoaster, and Muppets is a ridiculous lineup. That's almost all E-Ticket-level attractions and doesn't even include Indy, Frozen, Fantasmic or regular Fireworks which are also must-dos.

Universal done did it. Stranger things is the ONE Intellectual property that could have woo'd me back after the B&T show was cancelled. I simply must visit that house. Still not 100 percent getting Frequent Fear for the 5th year in a row, but I certainly just went from a "Might actually skip it this year and focus on Tampa Haunts/Not so Scary/Spooky Empire" to "Will at least buy the 2 night ticket".

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. Icon is exactly what this park needed. Their wooden coaster collection was fantastic, but they just needed an awesome steel coaster to back it up (though for non-enthusiasts, the Big One seems to satisfy that). If this is anything like Blue Fire or Helix, this will fill the void perfectly. I cannot agree more. As much fun as the unique rides were on my visit last year, the coaster collection did leave me a bit sore at the end of the day. It's all older wooden coasters or Infusion/Big One which are about as rough as steel gets. Icon is the re-ridable, smooth, megacoaster that fills a big hole in the lineup and I think the park completely nailed this.

Basically for the new version of Journey to Atlantis the ride's features and gags are all completely static. No video or Seahorse, no mermaids, scary Medusa doesn't move, no Beetlejuice music. They turned off every single effect and replaced the soundtrack and audio with the music from the defunct Allure Show which I assume also saves on licensing. As heinous as that is it kind of works, since most of the effects looked super-outdated and functioned only half the time. It's still better than a completely unthemed Splash boat. Hopefully one day the ride, as well as Antarctica and Wild Arctic can get some ++ upgrades, if the park's financials recover.

You can still go to a Dining Reservation without paying, so this wouldn't ever affect me. I think the ship has long sailed on "Disney is overcharging for everything and I can't afford it". The park tickets themselves are very reasonable compared to Concert/Theater and Movie Tickets, and with a resort you are obviously paying for the Name, Service and Location. I'm just waiting for Magic Kingdom to hit $200 a day in like, 2022. Or earlier.

You need a physical RFID-enabled DTI card (which you pick up free at will call or at the entrance with a ticket barcode), or a magicband to check into your fastpasses. The App can only help with times. Nope. Everyone goes as a group through the pre-show. I'm 99 percent sure Everest is the only single rider queue here.

I'm sorry but I have to...am I the only one who thinks it's a little crazy that a park based in the wooded hills of Tennessee removed literally every scrap of vegetation from that gigantic area? The difference already between everything that has been built since Thunderhead up to TN Tornado on that side and the older half of the park...it's jarring. Do they have to remove all of the natural beauty?
