Are there any enthusiast events coming up for Carowinds this spring or summer? Particularly with ERT on the Lightsaber Lift? -

The line according to the internet hit over 3 hours, they cut off everyone at 8PM. People be crazy. -
I can see both the "rest of the park is shabbier" thing in certain areas and the "too many simulators thing." I'm so hopeful that Kong won't be only giant screens. But Hulk is being refurbed this year and new rides are coming constantly. And most things in IOA (giant cutouts aside) are just as high quality as other majors. But there are plenty of Non-simulators not mentioned in the report...MIB, any great water ride, Dr. Doom, Dragons, Cat in the Hat, Disaster, Poseidon, etc. And YAY to see some love for Great Movie Ride. All the attractions at DHS are AWESOME, I just wish the company could literally double the amount of them...and for DAK too...

^ But what defines your definition of "enthusiast"? There will bea crap load of people who love coasters in the Carolinas who come for this ride. I would absolutely expect the first month after this ride opens to be busier than normal, and opening day will be crushed. This ride will probably be 3.5 hours or more opening day. -
^Which for me is the whole point of why Busch Gardens is awesome. Everything is a cut above the usual regional park. Which is why I am totally disappointed with the new, exceptionally low capacity clone at Williamsburg. It's way too safe and not up to Busch's historical standards. Even though it will be themed and a good ride, it really seems out of character.

^There has to be something penciled in for long term-development. That area of land currently holds two wooden coasters, a concert arena, the open space where an outdoor theater once stood, and then another blank area of grass about 1/3rd the size of Gwazi. The space is big enough to fit anything really, including one or two entirely new lands.

Really interesting. The ride was essentially a huge El Loco it seemed, now Intamin will be building an entirely new (or oooooooold-school refreshed) design for them I guess? I hope we know what happened someday. The whole thing is completely ridiculous now with the drop tower and I've heard a strong rumor an old favorite is coming along in the main building area. I'm very excited. And it's walking distance from my apartment. What a world. -
Definitely try to go with Virginia. BGW is the most beautiful park in the country and the park has the perfect amount for 2 more-relaxed days. Kings Dominion is at least 6/10ths as much fun as Cedar Point with I-305, Volcano, Avalanche, FOF and Dominator as well-worth riding. The big kickers to push it that way would be 1. All the cool stuff in D.C. that you just have to see to be a true American 2. Busch Gardens is building a coaster THIS year, Cedar Point will probably be building one NEXT year. 3. Kings Dominion has a really great included water park that is receiving big upgrades this year, that your partner could park himself at if feeling the "walking around the park grind." Then of course VA also has Colonial Williamsburg, better natural scenery, lots of nearby water just like OH. Definitely VA if you can go. And if you do Cedar Point, there's the rock and roll HOF, Cleveland Art Museum, water cruises and ferries to islands in Lake Erie, Ohio Amish country, Cayuhoga Valley NP and other parks...

My personal must avoid list at universal is Shrek (second place to stitch for worst themed Florida attraction), Flying hippogryph and Pteradon flyers unless credit whoring, Voyages of Sindbad, Beetlejuice revue, Fear Factor live (bad to mediocre live shows). Anything else you know what you're getting in advance or might find some fun in especially if you have multiple days.

Dallas isn't a terrible spot to try I guess, it's very central, growing quickly, airport and roads are good and far from the majors on each coast. But I think their scale is pretty clearly off. These are the kinds of resorts that are designed to attract people who are flying in to experience them, based on track records of success (investments, intellectual properties?) that already exist in some form. There is no track record, the design plans look extremely early-stage, and the press coming out is...not polished (bordering on poor). It's just a nope. I give them a 1 percent chance of that level of investment happening and a five percent chance that anything gets built. The ski area would be novel for this market... Also, the stock exchange and Earthquake roller-coasters for such fabulous lands as NYC, Hollywood and "Western" sound like an honest joke. I wish them the best though.

^ Here's a fantastic website for you. http://www.orlandoinformer.com/ 1. Tips: USE SINGLE RIDER LINES, Try not to bring a bag and wear zip up pockets if you can. Disaster and Twister are both slated to close in the near future, if you want to experience them now. The Horror Make-Up show is sneaky awesome and the only live show truly worth seeing over several attractions if you can squeeze it in. 2. Rides that get the longest lines: Despicable Me (by far the best thing to do at rope drop), HRRR, Transformers, Spiderman, Forbidden Journey (the latter three all have single rider lines, Forbidden has an AMAZING regular queue line though). My personal two-park attack plan is ride Despicable and HRRR, then Transformers and Mummy, then the Hogwarts Express to Hogsmeade, Forbidden Journey, then a lap around IOA hitting everything and dragons, lunch, Hogwarts Express back to studios and Diagon Alley, then a lap around the rest of USF. 3. Best eating: Either Harry Potter World restaurant, or Mythos for table service.

What's New for 2015
BlahBlahson replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Anyone else think this is the best year for Coasters since the Millenia-Boom? -New !!!Intamin Mega!!! in China -B&M's likely best coaster Fury325 and finally a launched as well (and 4 more coasters to boot) -Mack first true Megacoaster (and 2 Mack Launchers) -2 RMCs, including possible best Dueling Coaster in existence -Karnan, Gerstlauer's tallest project ever (and Wiener Prater's enclosed coaster) -Cannibal, the crazy twin in Utah -First S&S Free spin (Batman), and a compressed launcher as well -SIX new Gravity Group Wooden, including the Ireland project and the first modern wooden-shuttle -Massive new GCI (Viper) in China, and the return of the Starliner -Rampage is reopened after 3 years! -Impulse, Laugh Trakk, Tempesto, No more crotch nightmares at Cedar Point I just feel like this is an insane year for quality additions in comparison to the last decade and a half. I don't think any other year has had even half the amount of "yeah I should definitely make a special trip for that this year" level rides. And this doesn't include all the great flats and dark rides coming to seasonal parks or the majors. I'm pessimistic by nature and I'm still totally pumped. -

Simple math. Hollywood Studios and DAK combined have somewhere around 15 actual rides open right now. Magic Kingdom has at least 35, including 4 rollercoasters. They don't represent the same value for your money. Epcot is very fun, but you would need to want to go for the great shopping and food in addition to the decent offering of attractions. The Kingdom is the most "Disney" by far and has the most rides and good food to boot. Your choice.

rcoaster10 may have just created the best thing on the internet. Are we sure this isn't a leaked plan? Major props for realism and a great layout.
