  1. Does it have KK listed as the fastest coaster at 128mph? Just curious, because when I was at Cedar Point earlier in the year, they STILL had a billboard on the launch building saying how Dragster was the fastest coaster in the world (they took out the word tallest apparently since I know it was there last year). A reason I heard was "because it wasn't listed in the Guniess Book". So now if it IS, that might mean no more billboard. JC
  2. ^I think that might be the funniest thing I have ever read on a coaster msg board.
  3. From what I know, there are three B&M projects stateside this year and then the inverted for Germany and flying for China. I believe the China coaster already has track there, since it was seen a WHILE ago at SOFCO. I'm pretty sure that track is for Patriot, SFMM still has a few more things to do before they need track there.
  4. The drop will be steeper than 60º... Look at the other B&M hypers - RB - 65º Apollo - couldn't find a stat but def like 63º at least NITRO - 66º Silver Star - 68º Rest assured, Goliath will be no different! JC
  5. ^^ Dave, Hades will be getting a second train next year. It will also be adding a sixth car to each train, for a total of 24 passengers per train. Apparently it wasn't in the budget this year! Joe "yeah, Hades is the shizznit!" C.
  6. Well I wouldn't trust SFGAd with one either, but they're definitely getting one! I can't imagine the maintenance to be that intensive on it though, honestly. In theory, it should be just like maintaining a steel coaster. But yeah, I don't think the flyer will be disappointing at all. Compared to existing flyers, this one does quite a bit more! Joe "not to mention the kick ass setting!" C.
  7. Sorry, SFGAd gets the kick ass amazing woodie this year, SFMM will have to settle with the kick ass amazing flyer. Joe "maybe SFMM can get an Intamin woodie next year?" C.
  8. Yeah I don't work til 430pm tomorrow so I will be going. Yay, another spinning mouse! Might spend some time in the waterpark, too. JC
  9. ^Well lucky me, I'm "married" to one of the few. And quite happy, too! :) Joe "yay gym bunnies!" C.
  10. http://photobucket.com/albums/v359/sir_clinksalot/Six%20Flags%20Magic%20Mountain/?action=view&current=MagicMountain036.jpg LOL who is flicking you off in that pic...just made me laugh. I have no idea about the weight thing...nor the gay thing. Sorry.
  11. ^ Are you going in mid-dec? Hopefully they get an awesome animation for the ride when they announce it! It does sound really cool though. JC
  12. Man, I will *never* understand all the critisizm of X! I first rode in Apr of 02. I rode it 7 times in two days and fell in love with it. I mean I was contemplating if anything else would ever compare (yeah it really made an impact on me). Fast forward time, and all of a sudden everyone loathes the ride. Great, another ride that got so rough it's unenjoyable. So I never make it out to Cali until this past April - over three years later. I was nervous to ride X because of how rough everyone said it was and how people swear it off and never ride it again. Well I'll tell you what, I rode it, and it hadn't lost a step! In fact, all of the negativity toward it made the ride even better for me, because my expectations were soooooo low. Even my bf Keith, who *hates* rough rides (he can't stand Storm Runner because he hits his head a couple times in some of the more intense parts) said X is his number two coaster, right behind SROS SFNE. And we even took his little Asian girlfriend who weighs no more than 105lbs with us, and she wanted to ride more than us! (she's not a coaster geek). So either we had two really good days this past April on X, or I'm just completely missing all this "roughness" talk. Either way, we'll be out there again in Oct. so hopefully it's as good as I remember then, too! Joe "and the crew was even hauling butt during the days we were there!" C.
  13. Let's not forget whose fault it was for SFNE's crash back in 2002 (I think that was the year)...that would be Intamin. Joe "giving credit where credit is due" C.
  14. How ironic that you posted that since we're going to Epcot tonight for my birthday dinner (bday is tomorrow, what did you all get me?) and have found nearly EVERY restaurant with no priority seating for eight. We're going to wait it out in japan, so hopefully everything works out for us! Joe "yay 1 year closer to being able to rent a car with no surcharges!" C.
  15. ^No you're right, both videos are Carowinds vids...however, one WAS created specifically for each park... The webmaster for PKI must have just used the wrong video. Wonder when they'll change it! JC
  16. But of course... PS the girl in your avatar is smokin' hot. I'd hit it. JC
  17. Yes, trust Homey G... his sources *are* accurate. Joe C.
  18. LOL to your captions...funny stuff. Next year for the Missouri area for this kid! Can't wait for their new Beemer (WoF) and to try out Poweder Keg. Oh and OzCat sounds like the deal, too. One of the only top woodies in the country I haven't experienced yet! JC
  19. Yeah, sounds like a lot of wishful thinking to me! JC
  20. L O Farking L, Kip. You kill me. Oh and yes I know how to get Universal tix, but I will be in Cali til next Tuesday...hopefully you won't be coming before then! Joe "saw this billboard when we were in Tampa last week and were like wtf is that?" C.
  21. Wow -- so you work at that attraction -- cool. If I see you, I'll do what I can to say hello. Actually I don't operate Coaster, I take Photopass photos in front of it (and everywhere else in the park). But I'll only be doing that this Tues and Wed and then again next Tues, because A. Going to California Wed night til Mon night and B. leaving Disney to be a server at Wolfgang Puck in Downtown Disney. YAY! JC
  22. ^ I've got to agree with Nemmy about Fire's first Immelman - not only is it taken to quickly, but I don't love the "shape" of it. I like Montu's WAY more in the way that it rotates in on itself, kind like Top Gun at PCar and Talon/Great Bear. Those feel much more natural/flowing than Fire's. Either way, Fire is an absolutely stunning ride and I love living four miles from it. JC
  23. -- the park and environment make a big deal too. I've been on a Vekoma many a time at MGM and its been down once. I've been on an Intamin at DCA and its been down significantly more times. We're talking 5 or 6. So...can Vekoma be really that bad? Short answer - yes. I would have agreed with you about RnRC before I started working at MGM recently...however, the past two to three weeks, the ride has been down LITERALLY everyday! I don't know if it's a fluke or what, but everyday it's up and down. I'll ask people how long the wait is or if they have a FP, and they'll tell me it's closed. Granted it's not the longest downtime, but I never used to see it close, and lately it's been down a lot. Who knows. JC
  24. That's why you make friends with people that work at the parks and get Fastpasses/Express Passes. Joe "not a fan of lines, either" C.
