  1. If Cowabunga Bay in Draper made me not go to any of the 3 or 4 other larger water parks in the area. I can't see how the one in Vegas won't have the same effect. A well run, clean, amazing park goes a long way in repeat business. This park looks amazing. Can't wait to go myself.
  2. This is really only cool if you play Magic: The Gathering. But for one of the upcoming Grand Prix events you can get a playmat (think like a large mouse pad) of a "fake" theme park that is themed to Magic The Gathering cards. It's pretty cool to see something that combines two passions of mine.
  3. El Loco is what I want all small "wild mouse" style coasters to be. So much in so little.
  4. El Loco at Adventuredome. Was incredible.
  5. I have a smart phone with unlimited data/texts for $35 bucks. That is probably "the cheapest" you could get. It is mostly just getting out of the "I need the new model" of things. I bought a cell phone that was comparable to the iPhone 4 for 20 bucks. It is all about your priorities. But used equipment is the way to go.
  6. I suggest this to everyone who goes to Vegas. Go to the Pinball Hall of Fame. It has hundreds of pinball machines and it is an electric atmosphere. Even if you don't really play pinball, just spending a half hour and just looking at the machines. The pictures on the website do not give it justice. Best part FREE ENTRY. Most of the machines are a quarter for 5 balls. All proceeds go to charity. http://www.pinballmuseum.org/
  7. What major construction project NEVER has any delays? Personally FWIW my wife won't go to any other water park that isn't Cowabunga Bay here in Utah. So impressed with everything. We can't wait to go to the Vegas park.
  8. I can't afford to go to all of the places I want to go to right now, so I like to watch the videos as a way of "taking a vacation" through my computer browser. I also like to watch park walkthroughs at work too. Helps me keep a pleasant state of mind. I watch them to plan for things that I want to go to as well.
  9. Adventuredome and NY coaster in Vegas for sure.
  10. ^ What? You mean watching a one-sided documentary DOESN'T make me an expert on the situation? That being said, 5% is huge, that's what half a million people on ave? wow. incredible. I'm surprised at the difference between WDW and then Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. I would think they would all have roughly the same amount of visitors, but visitors to Magic Kingdom nearly double that of each of those other parks. And nearly 2 to 1 for Disneyland to California Adventure. I haven't been to California Adventure in a while, but I am probably MORE excited to go there than actual Disneyland.
  11. Yeah I couldn't see not taking my wife who is more of a thrill seeker than I. There was never an opportunity for me to go to a park by myself. However, when we are at parks, sometimes my wife and I do different things (like when we are at water parks, she usually gets tired of the slides and hangs out in the lazy river sooner than I.) But I don't think I would want to go on a vacation by myself (not that I would hate it, but I wouldn't prefer it.)
  12. I don't go to theme parks by myself. IMO the fun of doing these things is the shared experience of doing them with someone. It isn't that I won't go to a park by myself, but if I have a choice, I'm taking a group with me.
  13. I agree it is unfortunate that it doesn't look like it'll be open when I go in late June as well. As far as the project is concerned, It looks great. The slides look fantastic.
  14. Amazing pictures. I have to visit this place as soon as possible.
  15. **Also realize that when you are changing IP settings in your computer you should contact your ISP to see if you can do this, some ISPs do not let you. I personally have not had any problems with the following settings on any internet provider, but that doesn't mean it is fool proof. Change these settings at your own risk. ** First powercycle your modem/internet box. second. I would strongly suggest using the following DNS servers (they are better than most ISP's defaults) Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4 These are Google's DNS servers. They work slightly differently than regular DNS servers, but for the end user is that they typically NEVER go down and pages load better. You may need to do a google search on your operating system on how to change DNS servers (on windows, you need to get to the network and sharing center then change adapter settings, then you right click on your network adapter and choose properties then double click on IPv4 then you can change the DNS servers.)
  16. whoa whoa whoa, so this guy gets preferential treatment because he's "an enthusiast of this ride" aren't we all?
  17. Depends on where my finances are at the end of the year. Already went: Cowabunga Bay (Draper) Planning to go positively: Lagoon Seven Peaks SLC Seven Peaks Provo (already have a pass for these two.) Adventuredome Stratosphere Cowabunga Bay Vegas (if it is open) Should I have money late in the year: Disneyland Knott's Berry Farm Six Flags Magic Mountain
  18. I wish more water parks did that "cool spray" on the walkways. That is my biggest peeve about water parks. I love the bright colors and those lighting effects are going to rule.
  19. Not sure if this was posted in here or not. But it is the original Prospectus for Disneyland. http://boingboing.net/2014/05/20/disneylandprospectus.html
  20. When do you ever buy food/merch at your local park? If your local park is DL why would you buy food/merch when you go? Maybe sometimes but not all the time. Heck, i can't even remember the last time I went to a thing and BOUGHT merch. Food sure you got to eat, but merch like stuffed animals and t-shirts, close to never.
  21. Well when you can only go to one of these parks every few years and a ride you want to ride is in refurbishment it kind of sucks.
  22. Going after Father's day I hope it is open by then (fingers crossed.) I literally just got back from the one in Draper and I had an incredible time.
