  1. Remove the ridiculous MCBR on Goliath (SFMM) that brings the train to almost an complete stop
  2. There will always be people in life looking for a cheap way to get ahead of others, it's just a part of life. I just try to ignore them and focus on something else. There's no way (other than physically stopping them) to really stop line jumpers
  3. Would the new Mantis trains track well is my concern. The stand-up element of Mantis imo is not what makes it hard to ride (I adore Riddler's Revenge it's relatively smooth 16yrs later) it's that Mantis tracks terribly, especially during the later part of the ride. I'm all for new floorless trains if they make the ride smoother (also remove that ridiculous trim on the first drop) otherwise we'll just have a mid-west derivative of Scream!
  4. Hyper Inverted Flying Wing Stand Up Never been on a B&M Sit down or Dive machine
  5. Can't wait to see what they have in store
  6. One of Diamondbacks's trains is definitely more rattly than the other two, also the first car on any of the trains is the smoothest IMO.
  7. A B&M would be a huge investment for HW, have they ever spent $18 million or more on a single attraction in the past? Just curious
  8. A B&M would be a huge investment for HW, have they ever spent $18 million or more on a single attraction in the past? Just curious
  9. It makes no sense why a park the size of BGW would put in a S:UF clone. These Premier launch coasters are inexpesive, not sure why they just wouldn't build a custom design with higher capacity (ala Fulll Throtttle).
  10. I can see skipping Wicked Twister, I almost skipped it but right as I was leaving the park I noticed it was a walk-on so I got my credit.
  11. Wow. Does America really need to bubble wrap their rides so much that a ride that has been engineered and proven safe by a massive, experienced ride manufacturer in a developed part of the world needs to be neutered? Somebody needs to contact SFMM and ask if this is true, and if it IS true, somebody really needs to get angry at ASTM. This makes me angry. How would you select which nations are "developed" enough to produce reputable rides? How would you decide which manufacturers are "experienced" enough to be free of regulation? Do you need to be reminded that Intamin is responsible for the majority of the most highly publicized ride accidents in the United States over the past few decades? That doesn't even begin to touch on the rampant economic and political consequences of deregulating an international trade. Use your brain and think critically, it makes all the difference in the world in making people not sound like idiots. No need to get angry, it's a discussion forum people have opinions that will differ from yours. I think Intamin's safety record is irrelevant in this case considering none of the accidents with their products were due to a ride being too intense for the GP.
  12. The Beast, wanted to ride it for so many years and finally rode it and thought it was terrible
  13. Tim Burkhart said at WCB they purposely toned it down so it wasn't too intense for the average person and also to meet their operational needs (they had to keep a mechanic on site to rotate the cars upward). Basically boils down to the fact that American's are lawsuit happy wusses who the park realized would not be able to handle it. Which is funny, because their neutering the ride made it terrible anyways! That's the dumbest thing ever, why install a ride that's meant to be intense only to tone it down?? The ride is still pretty intense though but can't help wonder what it's really supposed to be like
  14. For a park, I'd rather have a B&M Giga or Hyper over nothing at all. Really? I thought most people would simply want nothing
  15. Kinda sucks Intamin messed things up with Cedar Fair, we'd probably be seeing more Intamin gigas (ala MF, i305). Not that there's anything wrong with B&M but the layouts of their hypers/giga are just so samey.
  16. Were guests complaining??? I can only imagine, cause there sure are a lot if people on here who complain about it.
  17. Well the in the point of reference I was making he wasn't even prompted to talk about other manufacturers. He was simply asked how they come up with concepts for new rides. Watch the IAAPA 2012 interview Robb did with him Like I said previously, business is business these guys are out there to make money not make abstract art pieces. We can agree to disagree here, cause I've already stated my point no need for redundancy You mean participate in berating this young kid who is highly skilled and living his dream? Why would I do that? I say more power to him, good night.
  18. Nothing better than the Zipper in terms of flat ride experience, I always get disappointed if I'm at a carnival with no Zipper
  19. Well even Sandor Kernacs of Intamin said it's all about what the parks want. So if the parks want a clone of a ride that was designed by another manufacturer, why should the manufacturer the park is working with fore go building it and lose out on a multi-million dollar project?? And in the case of Intamin, you could even say they copied Anton Schwarzkopf if you really pay attention to modern intamin coasters there are a lot of similarities there. I don't think any of the modern day manufacturers of steel coasters are THAT original (save a few of Intamin's designs and B&M's inverted), you gotta go back to Arrow and Anton of the 70's for the true originality.
  20. But Alpina Blitz is very disappointing. Mack should never do things like this even if the park asked them for it, this is the kind of thing that Golden Horse does. Why not though? Business is business, at the end of the day the manufacturers are there to sell product. Yes Alpina is an exact rip of the mega-lites but the park wanted it and saw a more economical way to build it. And in the case of Golden Horse, they're no different than Premier, B&M, Mack, Chance, Zamperla, S&S, or any other manufacturer biting/stealing original ideas.
  21. I better hurry and get out to Gradv to finally ride Toro if people are saying it's starting to get rough. Wanna experience the ride before they start putting trims everywhere.
  22. Mantis isn't TERRIBLE (Mean Streak is terrible) it's actually kinda fun in a "I can't believe how rough this thing actually is" kind of way. You should definitely ride it all things considered.
  23. I stayed at the Motel 6 in Milan and I loved it! It was clean, modern, free wifi, quiet, friendly/helpful staff, and only about a 10 min drive from CP. Couldn't ask for more at $38 per night on the weekdays.
