Afterburn has been completely repainted Ricochet will receive shiny blue supports, teal arms, and lime green track in 2014 Thunder Road is getting some track work done - In other news, if you look on google maps, you'll see that the GR8 SK8 is dismantled and no one knows what will happen from there (whether if it gets moved or removed). - The Xtreme Skyflyer skycoaster is completely dismantled in the parking lot. Work for the new coaster should start during the 2014 season. - The pond next to Nighthawk has been drained and ground has been cleared so the Xtreme Skyflyer should go in soon. - It is not clear if work for the new food complex has started (apparently it is a 500 seat Festhaus). - Work for the front gate has not started yet. - Work for the new water slides (Surfer's Swell and Dorsal Fin Drop) has not started yet. Since the park is denying us our right to see what progress has been made on Wonder Mountain's Guardian , here is all the information we know about the ride including renderings: - the ride will cost approximately $10 million - 4D interactive dark ride with the core thrill being heavily based on graphics - uses 3D projection (riders will wear 3D glasses) - uses wind, movement and other special effects to add the 4th dimension - riders will board inside of the mountain near ground level - the ride will exit the mountain and climb the lift on the mountain exterior - at the 60' level the ride will plunge back into the mountain - there will be 5 levels including a draconian city, and underground lake, a desolate forest, and an unmentioned level - the story is supposed to end with a twist - the main character/monster is herman the dragon from thunder run - there will be multiple drops throughout the ride - 1000 feet of coaster track - the ride is gravity-driven - longest interactive wall in the world - highly sensitive targeting guns that will "interact" with the environment - content of the ride can be easily changed to vary the experience - there will be 5 trains, each with 8 riders - approximately 640 pph - the engineering department at Wonderland is currently working on designing the track - the experience changes every year. For 2014, the game is called "Guardian: Quest for Gold". At Haunt time, the ride will be themed to zombies - the ride system will be manufactured by triotech. - you'll be able to buy your photo at the end of the ride - instead of a laser dot to show the difference of who shoots, guests can pick from a handful of avatars like smileys and skulls - if the ride is a success, more dark rides will show up in Cedar Fair parks - supposed to be open by may 2014 Construction photos by asimowalk are on page 508

I think Bizarro at SFNE had the mist effect when it was still Superman. Maybe it has nothing to do with the branding, the park just decided to stop using the mist.

If any company could pull if off the inverted wooden coaster, I'd think it would be RMC. Or at least with RMC's topper track. Besides, the restraints are the OTSR/Lap Bar Restraints so I don't think it would feel much like an SLC. If you have no idea what kind of restraints I'm talking about, visit the site and look through the concept art: http://www.gordonrides.com/concepts.html, or look at the restraints on Fun Spot USA's Freedom Flyer. Those are the type of restrraints that would be used on the ride. Ride-wise, I'd like to see a Gold Striker type of coaster with quick directional changes and good forces (correct me if I'm wrong about that as I have never been to CGA).

There is a company who made up the concept of an inverted wooden coaster. I'd like to see this idea come to life one day. With seats suspended directly below the track, riders’ feet dangle as the coaster train careens through the track layout. 1. Intimidator 232 because no matter how many of you haters say it's a bad coaster, it's still pretty awesome. 2. Goliath (SFOG). This was new to me and I thought it was a pretty good coaster. Not really focused on height or speed but more for 3. Afterburn. Just a great B&M invert.

My backyard is situated on a hill by the forest near a creek so I would build an alpine coaster that crosses over the creek. If I had the money, I would make the blueprints and make those illegal immigrants build it for me in a heartbeat.
