Stand-Up Coasters
Hilltopper39 replied to 11slataus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
True, but it could be a sit down, or some other type of cool new train that B&M designs. Schorcher, Mantis, Vortex, Apocalypse, there are plenty of good candidates out there. -
Stand-Up Coasters

I was never a huge fan of the Stand-up but Schorcher and Riddler's Revenge are both pretty decent rides. I've always wondered if B&M has ever considered manufacturing a floorless, or sitdown train that could operate in place of the standup trains? Might be a nice way to re-brand a lot of those stand up coasters in the future, I could see some of the stand ups like Mantis and Green Lantern maybe even being more fun as a floorless/sit down. -
Looks like a nice addition that essentially doubles the capacity of the old slide and adds in the unique "capsule drop" experience, but honestly compared to the original slide (and the rest of the park) this thing is a bit of an eye-sore. That may be a bit picky, but the old Jumeriah Scierah was one of the coolest looking water slides in the world in m opinion.

^Yeah, I get your point, but I mean you shake hands in tee-ball, you shake hands in little league, in high school, in college, but for some reason small harmless display of sportsmanship games stops at the professional level.

I bought tickets last week for MUSE in Tampa in February, looking forward to it. I saw them open for U2 a few years back and it was a great set, but short since they were just the opener. A Headlining tour should be amazballs.

The 49er are slowly turning into the which team is going to show up today team of the season (them and the Jets), I still think they are an elite team but honestly don't know if I could go all in on them or not. The game against Seattle should be interesting, Thursday games are weird but we'll see how good Seattle is. The Falcons are a good team but they are due for a loss sometime soon and still need a signature win in my opinion to solidify their position as the best team in the league. Beating Oakland with a last second field goal or Carolina with a last second 60 yard pass doesn't exactly scream Super Bowl favorite, yet. -
That's a good point, I've never really noticed it but they don't have any sort of formal hand shake post game. In the NFL it has gotten to be pretty un-eventful but at least the head coaches still make an effort to shake hands at mid-field. Sometimes they don't make it sometimes they try to fight, but they always make an effort at least.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Champagne and beer shower celebration by St. Louis (or any team) after only winning the divisional series was ridiculous? Celebrate clinching a playoff spot, celebrate winning the world series, that's it. Heck, St. Louis had a celebration after they one the 1 game wild card play in, lame.

Yeah it certainly looks like we're headed for a bunch of really good 1-loss teams at the end of the year, I just hope that someone like Louisville or Rutgers from the Big East doesn't run the table and go undefeated. I think it's funny how far Florida State dropped in the rankings after one slip up, they are all the way down to 14, which is probably where they belong but people seem to usually have a inflated expectations for FSU. I'd love to see USC upset Oregon to have both of those teams at 1 loss just to farther complicate things. It's going to be ironic when Ohio State is 12-0 yet can't play for a bowl game...

^I always liked Cassel, he hasn't had a great run with the Chiefs but I've always though he comes off as a classy guy. As a guy who live in Jacksonville and now semi-follows the Jaguars by default, I'd take Cassel over Gabbert any day. -
Then they would change uniforms at half time and get shut out in the second half.

Cheering for a guy to get benched on a performance basis is one thing, but cheering for an injury is just wrong IMO, end of discussion. -
^yeah, regardless of game time that place will be rocking. I'm halfway thinking about trying to find some tickets to the game even though the last thing I would wish on my worst enemy would be to spend 4 hours surrounded by thousands of drunk Florida/South Carolina fans. A fate worse than death, but maybe worth it to see a great football game.

The whole concept behind the Cowabunga Bay parks is amazing and I expect the Vegas edition to be better than the original. I've really been impressed with the technology that has been introduced in water park side of the amusement industry in recent years and your parks seems to really take the best of what is out there and utilize it perfectly! Shane, here's a question that you may not be able to answer in full but do you have plans to open more parks across the country or is it just a one park at a time project at this point? I think your parks seem like the type of property that could really "work" in a lot of markets across America, even places with a major theme/water park nearby. Regardless, best of luck with this project and any future projects you have in the works. I'll arm wrestle ya for it!

I have a feeling something weird is going to happen in the SEC this year, something like Florida will at home against South Carolina, then lose to Georgia in the cocktail party making a three way tie for the East, then the winner of some weird tiebreaker will slide into the SEC title game and upset Alabama. Or Florida loses to Georgia then wins out beating Florida State, but loses the tie breaker for the SEC East, and a one loss Florida plays Alabama for the BCS title, something weird.

Yeah, there is that haha, however if the Bears can make a Superbowl run with Rex Grossman then surely they can do it Cutler? -

I know the Jaguars suck, but at this point is there any reason Chicago isn't a top 6 team? The Bears look poised to make a deep run this year, I know they need to win a big game but for now they look really good. -
So is this years event so bad that's it's not even worth going to? I don't think I've read a single positive review of anything at the event other than Gothic and Dead End are as good as some of the better houses in recent years. I was considering hitting up the event on a Sunday in a few weeks just to keep my "event attendance streak alive" but from the sound of things I may be better off just checking out some local haunts and saving my money this year?

Atlanta did their best impersonation of Cleveland.

Great picture, glad to see B&M still building Floorless coasters, I've always been a closet fan of the Floorless model and this one looks like on of the best around.
