Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
These aren't humans we're talking about here, they are humans from Ohio........ -
I can't believe that Disney would release a testing picture with the themeing not finished and electrical hook ups still exposed. This has totally ruined the magic for me and is further evidence to the resort declining by degrees, I'll never attend the park again or ride this ride in protest. Seriously though this things looks awesome. I really had no interest in the New Fantasyland project even when this was initially announced but the more updates I've seen the more I think that it might be a fun little attraction.

Yeah, the Seattle game I'll give them a pass, you can go from bad to worse REAL fast against them especially in Seattle. But again the fact that they played a great game week 1 against the Packers, looked crisp and physical, then to have two stinkers two weeks in a row (even against Seattle) is still a little fishy to me. I don't know if this Aldon Smith thing is a bigger deal than it appears to be or not, but again I hope they get it together here before San Fran turns into the 2012 Bears and miss the playoffs with 10 wins. It does feel like there will be a NFC team again this year that has 10 or more wins and misses the playoffs. Even thought it's still early in the season I can't see more than 1 team from the NFC East making the playoffs so that means between Chicago and GB/Detroit, Seattle/San Fran, New Orleans/Atlanta, some one will be left out. It's kind of ironic that all 4 NFC division champions from last year are in 1-2 or 0-3 hole, who the hell would have predicted that? -
Just curious here Robb, but do you ever get around to checking out any stand alone "non-theme park" haunts, and if so did any of those ever impress you or scare/impress you more than the park haunts? The reason I ask is I'm kind of in your boat where I've been to HHN and Hallowscreams style park haunts enough (not nearly as much as you have, but enough) that those style haunts don't really scare me anymore. I still appreciate them and enjoy the events as a whole but they do all kind of feel the same to me now. However, last year I checked out a local haunt here in Jacksonville (Night Terrors) that I wasn't expecting to be anything special but instead I was just completely blow away by how awesome and fun it was. It was long and had some really unique scares (different than anything I'd ever seen in the parks), some sections you had to crawl through and climb ladders then go down slides and stuff, and since we were in a group of like 8 the timing for every effect and scare was perfect. It was a blast. It was kind of refreshing to have something thoroughly exceed my expectations which were mainly based on park haunts.

There's something weird is going on in San Fran, Kaepernick's production aside they haven't show up two weeks in a row. For a team that has been as physically dominant as they have week in and week out for the past two season to play that poorly two weeks in a row is strange. Hopefully they shake it off this Thursday and handle St. Louis. -

I wonder if this thing will fly up as quickly as the floorless coaster at Heide Park did? I'm looking forward to it as well. -
It sounds like Universal has really stepped their game up this year and has the event back to where it was a few years ago. Really looking forward to it this year! Did you get a chance to check out the Rock Horror Picture Show live show? Pretty cool that they let you film inside of all of the houses, I assume that was a media only thing though right?

Wow, this thing looks unbelievable. I really liked the Ratatouille movie so I'm sure I'll love the ride. t would be awesome if they could find a way to squeeze a version of this thing into the Paris section of Epcot eventually. I mean, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and now Paris have themselves a version of the trackless dark ride, FLorida and California are naturally next right?

Photo TR: Chuck Finally Returns to Japan with TPR
Hilltopper39 replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It's official, my next real vacation will be to Japan. Great report Chuck, might have been one of my favorite TDS reports ever. -
It never ceases to amaze me how much stuff Disney will allow their guests to bring onto rides. Any other park in America try to bring the smallest loose article possible? Nope. At Disney, a book bag, a sack full of candy, a giant sweet tart tube, while wearing a Halloween costume? Why not! I saw a guy wearing a cape ride space mountain once during MNSSHP, a freaking cape! This event is awesome. (that person may or may not have been me)

Yeah there's an awful lot of football left to be played, everyone has kind of forgotten about Clemson. If they win out they'll have wins over Georgia, FSU, South Carolina, and potentially Miami/Va Tech. They're be awfully hard to leave out of a championship game if that was their resume.

^Stranger things have happened, I guess we can't sleep on Stanford in that conference either.

Can we just go ahead and fast forward to Alabama vs Oregon?

Every single time I look at a trip report from Disney Sea I found a new attraction of some sort that I had no idea existed and this show has filled that void. Thanks for giving me another reason to go! -

I completely missed it in the announcement yesterday but the iOS in your Car (or whatever they're calling it) seems like a really cool product with a ton of potential. -
One of the biggest games of the season is this weekend, Alabama at Texas A&M, what are your thoughts on this one? I think Alabama will win but I expect it to be a great match up. Who knows, Manziel might just go crazy on em like he did last year. As good as Bama is on defense that guy is still hard to stop, but I think Saban with a years worth of film will be ready.

I had a booster give myself and a table of my teammates $100 for dinner one night, was that illegal? Probably, is it that big of a deal? Not really...
-
^Yeah, I remember hearing about that earlier this summer then have heard almost nothing about it ever since. I like Franklin, seems like a great coach and the kind of guy his players really want to play for so I hope he wasn't involved in this. Chip Kelly back to USC? Interesting, I can't say that it's bad idea, but I think Kelly will be pretty successful in the NFL, at minimum he'll last more than 1 year which will be longer than USC can wait to hire a new coach haha. Florida fans probably wish Muschamp would go back to Texas right about now....

Yeah, for Western that was honestly the weirdest half of football I've ever seen in my life. Western had 5 turnovers on 5 consecutive plays in the 1st quarter including two pick 6's. I've never seen anything like it, it was beyond video game crazy. Yeah, USC, I don't even know what to say, Kiffin has to go. I really don't know why you let him finish the season at this point. As bad as Kiffin is, the under achiever of the week award goes to Texas who lost by 20 to BYU! The Mack Brown era needs to come to an end sometime soon, they've been under achieving with top talent for a long time now. Speaking of under achieving, nice win for Miami over Florida. Florida has way to much talent to be as average as they are. They;re just not very good offensively and defensively they're very undisciplined and bland and get by with a lot of stuff because they're just that much more talented. I would't be surprised if they go 8-4 or 7-5 this year with a loss to a Tennessee or Ole Miss or someone like that.
