I was kind of skeptical of the Pulsar concept initially but it seems to have overwhelmingly positive reviews from everyone that has been on it. I wonder if MACK has plans to expand that concept on future additions or if it's kind of an as is product offering, would be interesting to see if there are any alternate layouts in the future. -
Nothing would make me happier than to read a trip report by them for this place. The Ark Encounter's official Twitter is posting random trivia about Noah and stuff using the hashtag #OhNoahhedidnt which is both awful and awesome at the same time. I don't have a whole lot of interest in visiting but in their defense it does look really well done, even the ainmatronic dinosaurs Noah apparently had on the Ark look great! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/noahs-ark-dinosaurs_us_577d9ff8e4b0344d514dea93

So I guess this thing is set to open in Thursday. Religious beliefs and funding controversy aside aside it's a pretty cool looking structure and I hope it succeeds, but $40 seems a bit steep although there is a ropes course (?) but it's not sure if it is included in the price of admission. Also, their projections for 2 million + visitors in the first year seems a bit optimistic, I mean there are a lot of really well established museums and amusement parks in the world that don't have 2 million visitors per year. That projection show sounds great. I would imagine that in like 3 or 4 years from now each Disney park will have collection of 5 or 6 different projection shows they can use on the castle and rotate throughout the year based on Holiday's, events, new movie releases etc. Kind of surprised EPCOT hasn't introduced some kind of Pre-illuminations projection show in Spaceship Earth yet. -
Seems a bit unfair on the people who have probably spent years saving for that once in a lifetime trip in a Disney hotel including the perks of early entry especially by rewarding people who are intentionally breaking the rules. My wife and I always talk about doing Florida but we don't think we could afford Disney hotels for our family and that puts us off a little since we feel with the only 2 weeks we get off being the busiest in the calendar year, so on top of huge queues, prices will be highest for hotels and airplane etc... fastpass+ and early reservation (for example be our guest) is something we would definitely need. If we ever do reach that point where we could do a Disney hotel for those perks and i'm talking 10 years of putting every little bit away it'd be really, really disheartening to see anyone walking in after all that saving "to avoid a scene." I'm not saying it was "right" but again if the park closed at 6pm and someone tried to get in line at 6:02 when the ride was a walk on It wasn't that big of a deal to let them in line for one more ride then turn them away after that. And at that time more often than not people were honestly unaware of the EMH more so than intentionally trying to break the rules. It wasn't like hundreds of people trying to intentionally break the rules, it was like a family trying to get in line before the que closed that missed it by a few minutes, that's the situation where it was easier to "avoid a scene", everyone gets one more ride since there wasn't a line to begin with, everyone has a good day.

^Yeah, in the park for the extra magic hours after park had closed it happened a lot as well. Back when you had to show a room key there were a lot of people who would show keys to off property hotels and the "Disney Good Neighbor Hotels" or whatever they're called now. If it was just a few minutes after the regular park hours ended and there wasn't a line at the attraction seems like we usually did the same thing to avoid creating a scene and holding up other guest from getting in line but if the same party tried repeatedly we had to turn them away. Just from casually checking the posted wait from time to time it seems like the Frozen Ever After has been fairly manageable, usually posted under 2 hours at least with people reporting the actual wait is generally around/under an hour or so. As insanely popular as Frozen is Epcot is still a park that I think a lot of "families" avoid for whatever reason. I can't tell you how many people I talk to that skip it altogether on their family vacations or plan to attend but instead use that day for an extra day at magic Kingdom or whatever. Maybe the Frozen ride will change that, or maybe that dynamic remains and the demand for that attraction level offs over time.

Here is another article, and just to be clear it says they removed Louis the gator from Princess and the Frog from the new Castle show before the show opened, which could have been unrelated, and that the Tic Toc Croc float has been absent in the parade per some guests. The article says that jokes from jungle cruise, which I get, and references to the crocs on the Safaris ride have been absent but it doesn't say anything about the animatronics on rides being removed yet.

Has anyone been lately to notice if they removed the gator animatronics from Splash Mountain. I understand taking the precautions they have recently after the accident but man removing Tic-Toc Croc from a the parade and animatronics from existing attractions seems unnecessary. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2016/06/30/report-disney-removes-gators-shows-rides/86545332/

For whatever it's worth it's really looks more like a LIM powered vertical lift than a "launch", not that it changes the discussion any. -

I love the idea of permanent year round haunts at parks and wish that concept would catch on at more places. I don't watch The Walking Dead but this looks like a great walk through with incredible detail, I'd love to see a version of this make it's way to Universal Orlando. -

They just showed a track level POV on the live stream, and wow, hard to keep up with that thing, it's all over the place. Taking "twisty" on another level. -

^I was under the impression that it was going on the corner of Sandlake and I-Drive, kind down and across the intersection from where Mango's is now. -
I think Europa has passed Tokyo Disney on my personal park/resort bucket list, not by much but man that place looks amazing. It's like a perfect mixture of everything, themeing, food, coasters, water rides, dark rides, resort hotels. It makes me wish Epcot had a major coaster somewhere in the world showcase. And it makes me wish Epcot had a raclete stand, heck can they just add Switzerland to the World Showcase with a raclete stand and Blue Fire Matterhorn already?

So per that release it sounds like ThrillCorp intends to develop, own, and operate future Polercoaster and SkySpire attractions, I wonder if that is the same model being used for the Orlando project or if that is being approached differently through partnerships with other developers. Kind of an interesting approach, I could certainly see this model being successful in a lot of markets. I mentioned it in the other thread that their SEC filing listed several different manufactures as potential suppliers of the ride including Intamin, B&M, Vekoma, Chance, and Zamperla. I've only associated the Orlando project with S&S then Intamin after they announced Intamin's involvement but maybe including different manufacturers means there potentially could be different types of ride systems used on different installations. Hopefully a 400 foot tall Zamperla Volare isn't in the works.....

I was referring to the Myrtle Beach, Nashville, and the TBD SkySpire Project location mentioned in the ThrillCorp preliminary offering circular, forgot the video/discussion was in the Skyplex Orlando thread haha. -

Yeah, this concept has been floating around for a while but doesn't seem like any physical progress has been made. Their SEC filing states that construction will take an estimated 24 months from the time a site is secured and zoning approved, so I'm guess we're still 2-3 years away from one of these things being opened somewhere. -

So ThrillCorp is raising capital by offering class B shares ahead of an IPO for the company? That's pretty interesting, and a little confusing, are they going to be operating these proposed attractions and earning revenue off of operating of the ride/leasing space in the property or just selling the rides to other operators? Kind of interesting that their SEC Offering circular states that the roller coasters will be sourced from existing suppliers and they list "Intamin Amusements, Dynamic Structures, Vekoma, B&M, Zamperla and Chance Rides", S&S is not on the list. Kind of interesting the language they use in the promotional material "join a team whose last two companies created more than $2 billion in sales; we’re aiming for something even bigger.", I'm guessing the $2 billion in sales figure includes revenues the parks receive from operation of their Skycoasters and iFly attractions over the years and not just the revenue associated with the sales of those attractions?
