  1. ^As far as tickets I wouldn't mess with any kind of second hand reduced price ticket sites these days. Buy them from Disney so you can book your fastpasses in advance. As far as getting the most out of your day.Get there early, the opening show at the front gate is always pretty fun to check out. If you can't get a Fastpass for the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train the standby line early in the morning shouldn't be that bad (same goes for Space Mountain). Book your fast passes as far in advance as you can, 30 days I believe for non-resort guests. I usually recommenced people to use fastpasses for lower capacity attractions like Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Princess meet n greets and the Mine Train if you can get it obviously. Rides like the Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and even Big Thunder Mountain are usually under 45 minutes standby even on really crowded days, closer to like under 20 on mildly crowded days. Also if you plan to be there all day try to book/use your first 3 fastpasses in the morning/afternoon so you can book a 3rd, 4th etc after you have used the first 3. I would try to be there at opening, use the standby line for like 4 or 5 attractions between park opening and like 11 am, then have 3 fast passes to use between 11am and 2pm or so. After that book an additional fastpass for later in the evening.
  2. So we're two weeks away from the playoffs and the playoffs are kinda halfway set/ halfway undecided. What are everyone's thoughts on AFC/NFC championship games and potential Superbowl matchups? This seems like it has the potential to be a weird year where anyone except maybe the AFC south champion, 2nd AFC Wild Card team, and the Lions if they get in have a legitimate shot to make the Superbowl. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised at a Giants vs Chiefs Superbowl, or a Packers vs Ravens, or Falcon's Steelers os something. This feels like a year where the Ravens or Packers, or Steelers, someone will get hot, have a little luck, and make a run. Also helps that the top team in each league really isn't all that great.
  3. ^Actually the more I think about it, 2017? 2018? We all know...................... #it'llneveropen
  4. LMAO Twisted Colossus. December 21, 2014. Two years ago today. Twisted Colossus was also formally announced in late August of 2014, why would Cedar Point build a new major coaster to open in 2017 and not announce it or start marketing it until like 4 or 5 months prior to it's opening.
  5. I totally forgot there was a Soarin attraction at this park. The castle there is incredible, I can't get enough of that thing. I wish magic Kingdom had a walk through attraction in the castle, that looks like such a simple but unique attraction. Also, why is a version of that ropes course not at Animal Kingdom right now? Stop what you're doing with Avatar and Rivers of Light and get on building that thing, please and thank you .
  6. ^haha stop it with all that opening act nonsense. I guess I'm just comparing it in my mind to the Disneyland Hotels in Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and I get that Shanghai didn't go with the typical Victorian theme and opted for the more European style art nouveau but the exterior just doesn't seems nearly as interesting. Again this is all based on pictures from a thousand miles away so maybe it feels different in person.
  7. I can't decide if I like the Shanghai Disneyland hotel or not, it looks really nice but something about it just doesn't feel like a typical Disney hotel. Again this is strictly my perception from behind a computer from a few thousand miles away but I can't really describe it. Pictures of it kind of remind me more of a cruise ship than a deluxe resort property.
  8. I was kind of surprised they were going to allow guests into "backstage areas" even if it is just in limited places to board buses, but this seems like an awesome option to me. Totally worth the extra cash, which again like you said for a 5 or 7 day trip isn't even all that much.
  9. It will most likely run year round like White Lighting at Fun Spot Orlando, but even though it operates year round it's not like it is consistently running 10 hours a day 7 days a week. I stopped by to ride White Lightning earlier this week and for the 45 minutes we were at Fun Spot I think WL cycled maybe like three times including my one ride. I imagine that both rides will stay smooth and fun for a long time. I may have missed it but did Fun Spot announce a name for the coaster? Or are they going to have some kind of "name the coaster contest" later next year? If so my vote is for Rolly McCoasterface......
  10. Speaking of Aquatica I'm kind of interested to see how Aquatica Orlando performs after Volcano Bay opens. I feel like attendance at the two Disney parks will remain steady but it wouldn't surprise me if Aquatica see a little bit of drop. Then again who knows, if the industry in general improves all parks might see similar gains especially in that market.
  11. Don't forget to use Child Swap, it can really come in handy with little ones especially on attractions with longer waits like 7 Dwarfs Mine Train if you can't get a fastpass.
  12. Yeah I got it..........just a little sarcasm. Don't know where that came from but
  13. The Express transportation thing actually sounds like a pretty decent idea, if I were visiting the resort for 4 or 5 days and planned to park hop a lot I'd easily pay the $12 or whatever it was for that service to avoid the trams, and the security check lines, and stuff, especially at the Magic Kingdom.
  14. ^What? Nothing wrong with being excited about the new ride.......
  15. I was at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday for most of the day, we never made it over to Tomorrowland where the cabanas are but it was kind of odd that I didn't see any kind of advertisement for them anywhere else in the park. Maybe I just missed it but are they advertising these things in the resorts or anywhere else on property?
  16. That's good to hear, I never know what to believe especially coming from die hard Disney fans, their perspective tends to be a bit skewed at times.
  17. Read on the Twitter machine that there was some kind of preview of Rivers of Light over the weekend. The reviews seemed pretty mixed and ranged everywhere from really cool tech and a fun show, to it was a complete dumpster fire. Anyone here get a chance to check it out? Either way it's nice to see the show making some progress towards an actual opening. I'm guessing they want to get it running for the holiday season.
  18. Yeah, that was kind of my thought, they "look" kinda cheap and temporary but if it's a success I would expect something more permanent later.
  19. Oh that's Antman, I totally thought it was Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy, shows how much I know about Marvel.
  20. Two thoughts..... 1. Moana doesn't open until tomorrow but it must be REALLY good if they're already planning a show/attraction. 2. I wonder if the the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction rumored for Epcot will be similar to what is shown in the concept art here. I know Disney likes to develop attractions to be used at more than one park when possible so there's a chance. This all looks amazing, especially the Frozen section. I love what they did with Norway in Epcot but man this looks like it's on another level. The aquatopia looking sleigh ride looks so cool, maybe they can find a way to squeeze that into the pavillion in the future.
  21. I'm pretty sure it's for a triple dueling Game of Thrones themed wooden coaster, but I could be wrong.
  22. As far as the ratings could any of it have to do with the fact that the football this year has just been kinda of bad? I mean right now Kansas City is the #2 seed in the AFC, and Houston and Baltimore are competing for wild card spots? Detroit is winning the NFC north, and Seattle might be the 3rd best team in the NFL but played in a 6-6 tie two weeks ago. There just hasn't been a lot of great football up to this point although Dallas vs Pittsburgh and Seattle vs New England were both pretty great games yesterday.
  23. This all sounds amazing, I'm gonna have to make sure to I get to Volcano Bay sometime early next year while all the cool interactive Taputapu features are still working........ Seriously though this place sounds like everything that a major modern water park should be, can't wait to check it out.
