This is random but there was pretty fun episode of the Talk if Jericho Podcast with Cody Rhodes and Zach Ryder discussing amusement parks and specifically the VIP tours at Disney and Universal that they take together annually. Pretty fun listen if your a wrestling fan (casual fan here nothing crazy) or an amusement park fan Always interesting to hear the perspectives of people who love amusement parks but not are not necessarily die hards like all of us nerds here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgJM6wPJAvk

I wonder how are you going to "redeem" the digital pass with this system since there are no magic bands, just scan a bar code on your phone or something? I guess you could do that since it's entirely app based such that you have to have a device to have the app to participate in the first place (at WDW you don't really have to, you can make the reservations in advance from a desk top or from the digital kiosks in the park). Also, I'd be more than willing to pay $10 a day to access availability on some attractions at WDW like 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, and Frozen, I'm kind of surprised they haven't launched an upcharge option yet.

Yeah it's hard to tell from the pictures how big the place is but it looks really cool. -

The city I grew up in had something similar to this, no where near the scale obviously, but all of the elementary schools in the area took annual field trips to it and the facility might have even been owned/operated by the county school system. It was a long time ago but I remember there being there being a driving school, a shop class type thing, and some career based learning activities for kids all in a standalone facility. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it was a cool concept at the time. Probably doesn't exist anymore for the same reasons Kidazania hasn't succeeded in America. -

That pirates ride looks absolutely incredible, I always thought the old rides didn't do the new movies justice but that's not the case with this thing, wow. Also, I may have mentioned it in another thread or on socials somewhere but I can see this type of technology being utilized for one of the new star wars attractions. The mix of live animatronics, physical sets, and digital media environments, just change the boat into some kind of ship and the under water scenes to outer space and you've got a heck of a ride. Oh and add in like 4000 animatronic storm troopers. -

^Haha, touche' I may have missed it but was Roaring Rapids (or whatever the Shanghai rapids ride is called) closed or just not open during the winter months? That ride looks awesome but the videos I watched it seemed pretty mediocre, then again what rapids ride isn't. -

Most Anticipated Coasters/Rides of 2017?
Hilltopper39 replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm looking forward to stuff I might actually get to ride which includes the new ride at Fun Spot, and VR on Kraken. Also, Avatar at Animal Kingdom. I don't have high hopes for the big ride there, I know it's simulator but that's about all I know so hopefully it will be surprising, but I'm excited to check out the rest of the Pandora land more than anything. I have a feeling it's really going to be incredible even though people might not be huge fans of the IP. The short video clip of that Navi river boat ride looked stunning. -

I happen to be a coaster enthusiast, so I care and was hoping that New Mean Streak would be redone with topper track. I have been genuinely curious why all the RMC conversions use the steel ibox track and not their pre-fab wooden topper track like on Outlaw Run and Lightning Rod and other "new" coasters. I guess my question is could they convert an existing wooden coaster and modify the layout using topper track or is there a reason they can't/don't. -

I like flyers but don't really much enjoy the pretzel loop, which seems like on the Sueprman Clones/Manta is the only interesting element. They all go drop, pretzel loop, turn flip, turn flip, brakes or some combination of that. Flying dinosaur looks like an awesome combination of elements that makes for a more interesting ride. Also, I'd love to see a version of that ride squeezed into IOA around/over/through the Discovery Center area. I might actually go back if they built that! -
I've been optimistic about this project since it was announced solely based on the visual potential of turning that source material into a theme park environment but after seeing this video I have a feeling this area is going to be stunning. Like for how quiet this project has been so far I have a feeling it's going to blow people away, even if the major attraction is average (it's still a simulator so my expectations aren't that high). The Navi river journey looks like a perfect addition to Animal Kingdom, I've always felt like that park needed some kind of mild family friendly boat ride and that thing looks awesome.

I never realized there was so much disdain for Peter Pan out there. I mean yeah I get that it's not entirely up to date or technologically stunning but for a 40+ year old ride based on a 60+ year old movie it's not entirely terrible (to me). Maybe I've just been riding it for the last 30 years of my life and never had any kind of expectations for it to not live up to. This whole discussion does kind of make me wonder how a ride like that translates to younger generations or if it will/should ever be removed/updated. I certainly don't think a "classic" should remain as is just because it's a classic but I feel like for what it is (a kids ride) it's still perfectly fine just a tad low on the capacity.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the shuttle set up from Shades of Green but it's not a far walk from there over to the Polynesian Resort where you can hop on the resort monorail loop to the Magic Kingdom. I'm guessing less than a mile or so. *edit, yeah a quick look at the google maps and it looks like there is a paved path with a crosswalk from Shades of Green over to the Polynesian Lobby where you can catch monorail.

Yeah, it seems like anymore when I go Magic Kingdom is the one park that's there is almost never a "light day". The lines for the major attractions might be shorter when it's less crowded but it almost always feels slammed anymore. Also, just a note if you're newish to the whole Magic Kingdom thing, if you are trying to be there when it opens at 9am make sure to allocate enough time to park, ride the tram to the TTC, then ride either the Ferry boat or Monorail to the Magic Kingdom Main gate. Most parks you can be from car to main gate in about 10 minutes, at MK it might take 20-30. If you're taking a stroller for the little one ya might have to fold it up to get on and off the parking lot tram, which can be a pain. I usually let my wife take the kids on the tram while I walk the stroller and meet up at the TTC, a little less of a headache that way.

I will politely disagree with you on Peter Pan, the line is always absurdly long because it's incredibly low capacity (which I why I recommend a Fast pass for it) but it's always been a pretty charming attraction. Maybe it's a bit of personal nostalgia but the "flying pirate ships" ride system is always fun, and as far as classic attractions go it's still one of my favorites. Can't much argue with your take on Winnie the Pooh but my kids love it. Also, highly underrated interactive que. I don't mind waiting 45 minutes for it cause the kids can play while I argue with people like you on twitter.
