[K'nex model] Landslide
chaos replied to chaos's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It's all done now! It took a while to get everything working properly, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Everything works very consistently and reliably. I'll post some pictures later. -
This is a coaster I've been working on for a few years now. It shouldn't have taken that long to make, but it just kept getting postponed with different projects I had going like writing a book and stuff. I'm finally finishing now, and I wanted to share it with everyone. I'm pretty pround of how its finally turning out. I just went to Lowes to get a good water pump for the waterfall, and everything is working pretty well. I'll post another update once it's done. (The first picture is from before I added most of the theming.)

TPR's Middle America and IntimidaTOUR 2010 Trips!
chaos replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This update makes Holiday World look even more awesome than I remember. Is it wrong that this is one of the main reasons I'm so excited to move to Indiana? I really can't wait to ride Wildebeast. -
NEWS: Polin Introduces "King Cobra"
chaos replied to Airtime&Gravity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really like the way this looks. Should add a nice variation if it comes to the US, where every waterpark feels the compulsion to have a proslide tornado. -
You're right. Chaos IS an amazing flat ride. But it's a shame there weren't more pictures. I was expecting at least to see the... umm... "extremely large woman." Then again, maybe its better you didn't expose anyone else to that. Pretty enjoyable trip report, even though it was so short.

The best prank I saw was a girl at our school who was giving out the most awesome-looking cupcakes. Only they turned out to be made out of meatloaf with mashed potato frosting.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
chaos replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
What the heck! How could the LA Times like Colossus better? This looks awesome. Even after seeing the updates for the past few weeks, the finished theming looks way better than I thought. Can't wait till I can drive up to Magic Mountain. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
chaos replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It took me a while to get used to it, but I'm really starting to get excited about this now. And if Cyclone Bay does get renamed, do you guys think the whole area might be rethemed to have something to do with time travel? After all, Deja Vu is right there. -
Castle Park to open Dragon Flyers!
chaos replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I guess I'll have to go back out to Riverside this summer. I always really enjoy Castle Park, regardles of their lack of a lot of rides. It would be really cool if they got a small wooden coaster. -Luke -
Superman The Escape Launch G-Force
chaos replied to zano's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As someone who didn't ride Superman until AFTER Xcelerator, the low g-forces seem correct. Superman feels more like the world biggest lazyboy rocking chair than a launched coaster. -
FLIPDUDE's Midwest PTR

Wow, I kind of thought everyone had forgotten me. But yeah, I was the youngest guy on the trip (or at least I think I was.) It wasn't really that bad for me, except that I kind of hung out with my mom most of the time. I really identified with what Tomi said though. I was constantly worried about getting someone mad at me, even though everyone was so nice. Thanks for sharing, Tomi. -Luke -
Flight of Fear at KI has a lot more hangtime than Rock n Rollercoaster now because, like niiicolaah said, it's going way too slow.

No school for me today! But the fires are pretty scary. Even the Wild Animal Park is burning right now, and I my dad just got evacuated from his house. This looks way worse than the fires 4 years ago. The news people sound scared this time. I think I'm safe though. I live really close to the coast.

Could a Track Jumping Coaster Be Possible?
chaos replied to Ccron10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt it could happen on a normal coaster, but wouldn't it be possible for a water coaster to fly off the track, travel through the air for a few feet, and then hit the water? That would require a lot less precision engineering. -
Six Flags America Accident
chaos replied to piggy4891's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This must be a slow news day, since this just appeared on the local news in San Diego. This doesn't get me mad though. I think it's funny. (Unless some new stupid rule gets implemented on all similar coasters) -

I built a pretzel loop, and I'm going to start to build really fast now since I have to finish before Igo on the midwest trip. Any comments?

I have a bigger update today. I built half of the overbanked turn, and the train makes it through with plenty of speed. Any comments?

Nooooo! This was the best waterpark in the world. Those slides were really one of a kind. -

The park looks really nice... It's basically a better version of Belmont Park. Those invading clouds looked cool.
