It does look incredible however I can't help but think they could have used a little more of the space inside the outer perimeter of the ride to add some length and another cool element or two. For example after the stall instead of immediately banking left it could have banked right and used the slope of the hill to do a really cool helix before heading back to where the current track is leading back to the station. I'm never satisfied I also thought for the plot of land they're working with, it's a bit short. They had the chance to really make this thing epic.

Look, not gonna lie - Every "motorbike" coaster I've ridden... EXCEPT FOR TRON, has been kind of a "meh" and "forgettable" experience. Maybe Universal can pull it off, I'm not sure, but I'm still not quite over them removing Dueling Dragons and I won't be by the time this opens either, so this ride has a LOT to live up to. And considering I'm not a "Harry Potter Person" either, this coaster has to be one of the best damn things I've ever ridden for it to honestly impress me. We shall see.... Will the addition of the Intamin Blitz over at Jurassic Park help ease the pain of the dragons? That sounds like it's gonna be one hell of a coaster

I mean... there are tangible records that can be broken with roller coasters, but is there really a definition for "best?" Isn't "best" all about your preferences? There are a lot of other parks that are in the same coaster lineup ballpark as BGT. Sure, that's fair. I just meant.....they'll have a multi launch intamin, a record breaking RMC, a B&M Dive, a REALLY forceful B&M invert, arguably the best B&M coaster out there in Kumba, a mack spinner, a Sky Rocket and a Schwartzkof (spelling). To me, I can't think of a park with that sort of kick ass-ness and diversity in portfolio of coasters.

Was at the park all day. Cheetah Hunt was a posted 5 min wait. Crazy good time to go, despite Kumba being closed. Beautiful day and fun all around; walked on everything and stayed on for a couple laps here and there on some rides. Being on Falcon, you can get a great vantage point on the RMC work. They're really getting after it there in the Gwazi area! Cannot WAIT till that is done. Once that RMC is in place there, do they take the title for best coaster lineup (not CP)?

Sadly, the RMC'ing of the Boss will NEVER happen for two reasons (as talked about before) 1) Too expensive 2) IF it happened, they'd have to significantly reduce the length making it not something worth the investment. It's really a bummer, because of all the woodies in the SF chain, that one would benefit the best from an RMC and I bet they'd get ultra creative with that layout

I was hoping they'd get one of those new enterprises. I can't recall the name, but Kentucky Kingdom got one and it is basically the Highland Fling but with floorless seats. Looks really cool too! Maybe another SF has it....Catwoman Whip or something? Would be perfect for that spot to carry on HF's footprint. Wishful thinking, I guess.

Dollywood Discussion Thread
TrippinBillie replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If it is a sister coaster, I hope it's a Mack...done right...mirroring something like Helix: multi launch, ground/terrain hugging and through the woods of Smokies -
As someone who lives in STL, it maddens me to see SFStL be such cheap asses and never give the park anything good/new/shiny (that actually always works **cough** Justice League was nice but it never works to its fullest **cough) and then SF Corporate announces they want to acquire new parks. Fix up and give your current ones some new coasters and stop playing musical chairs with rides If you're doing so well to expand in China and acquire parks, you can buck up for RMC Boss or something!!!!

Okay, I get that they would cut a multi-sensory, everything-that-can-break-down-will, immersive dark ride for budgetary reasons, but something as simple as a freestanding net structure / adventure fort? I don't get it. One of the whole points of that sort of attraction is that it doesn't have to be staffed as heavily as a dark ride either. SeaWorld's is old, I get that, but Sesame Place replaced their old structure with a new one for Cookie's Monster Land. They closed Tidal Wave. How many people did it take to run that? They closed Curiosity Caverns and most likely still kept the animals and temporarily closed Jambo Junction Busch Gardens has really been treated like a dying mall. Look at all that is SBNO in the last few years and still is - Theater by Zagora Cafe - Gwazi - Rhino Rally - Terrace Restaurant - Bird Gardens Gift Shop - Tidal Wave - Curiosity Caverns/ Jambo Junction - Questor - Jungle Flyers - Wild Surge - Treetop Trails Since 2012, They've added Falcon's Fury and Cobra's Curse So sad when you put it like that

Just wanted to comment on HitP. What a fun evening! My wife and I went on Sunday. Crowds were manageable, lines not insane, and there was a really fun atmosphere in the air. I think it was improved a lot from last year; we loved the lights and all the Christmas music in the lines and throughout the park - more noticeable this year, too. ONLY complaint/ask - OPEN EAGLE!!!!!! Would provide some incredible night rides with views from the back of the park and how cool would it be to integrate a tunnel of Christmas lights midcourse.....or put some audio throughout the ride as you're riding through the woods - almost retheming it for a "sleigh ride" type attraction. HitP was WAY better than any other time I've been; in my opinion. I don't know if the lights and dark masked some of the lack of theming a normal day or summer operations would show? But wow...fun evening. Can't wait to go back! EDIT - Rode all coasters open for the event and it was around 45 or so degrees. I noticed Freeze was CRAWLING over that tophat after the launch. Everything else was great.

Remembering old discussions from this thread, I think it was because the old entrance wasn't ADA accessible and couldn't easily be made to be compliant. AH, yes...that makes sense. There are a couple of stairs by that "turnaround". Wish they could "ramp" that and make the entry to its original form. Was quaint...reminded me of the good ole days
