Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread

I would say this is on the money. Structures in the earthquake prone regions of Japan are very heavilly constructed. So I would assume this to automatically have more supports than X. Looking at pictures it is clear that this happens with many coasters in Japan. It looks amazing though and the supports will give some real tunnel effects and head-choppers!!! -

It is always wierd when well known thing change their name. In the UK Opal Fruits sweets changed to Starburst years ago and i still sometimes get confused. But its just progress so Onwards we go There is always space for a bit of nostalgia though -

History tells us that wheels out makes a better ride, whatever makes the best rides suits me so I would disagree.

So why are their new rides a Charlie And The Chocolate Factory boat ride an a Driving School (for 2007). I don't think they're getting a face lift. They're trying to appeal to the family market. Familys are the people most likely to wanna stay in the hotels, and seeing as the park is so hard to get to via public transport i doubt that marketing everything towards teenages is gonna be the best move. So you agree with me?

They really need another coaster huh, they seem a little behind Tampa now Shreika has landed. Not visited this park and it may go on my 'list' if they installed a great new ride. Great pics, gives a great idea of scale for Apollo. Not sure I could work up that high -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
paulosthejackal replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have found that when I talk to my friends about coasters and ask them what they like I often realise that its the B&M stuff they enjoy most. From Alton towers' collection to people I know who traval to various SF parks they all like the B&M's. One particular mate did not know one coaster from another but on a trip to SFGAdv. (Before KK) he picked out medusa and nitro as his pick and identified their Batman as a 'version of Nemesis'. I too hate it when people make silly comments which are just wrong when I think I know what is right but you can't say the GP are stupid for not knowing about this stuff. This is just the great dichotomy of life -

Crickey thats sooo exciting, this has got to be one of (if not) the most important rides of the year. Its great to see a park put so much more effort into a coaster. I hope to ride this in the summer along with a trip to ride Expedition GeForce. I think what we all want/need now is a video! As for the wheel covers:- IMHO I imagine this is because there is lots of tinkering which will need to be done so it would be a pain in the bottom to fit romove all the plastic covers each time this could also avoid costly damage. I would imagine that there will be more theming on the trains as the ride develops. Perhaps with a snake head at the front I don't know. -
This ride was to be opened for the 1992 season, B&M barely existed at this point. They had not built a sit down coaster and were probably working very hard on the Batman invert (at this time a prototype coaster). Busch wanted them to build coasters for both of it's parks and they only had time to do one (resulting in KUMBA, their first sit down a year later). Arrow took over the project and changed many aspects of the ride. So this project would not have been 'easy' for them because it was a new type of coaster for B&M. Also in 1992 when this all took place B&M had never built a cobra roll on any of their coasters. In fact B&M were a new company of only a few years and had only built 2 stand up coasters. B&M was a young company placing its bets on the new inverted coaster 'Batman' and they probably had no other resources left at their disposal.
