  1. Alton Towers in the UK is pretty exciting because you can barely see anything on the drive to the park so every little glimpse is so exciting! Even when you are in the park you 'come across' the rides. But CP must just be the greatest - must be such a ruch as you drive along the freeway - can't wait till I graduate uni and can afford to go on holiday again!
  2. In the UK I think its due to health and saftey that there are no rerides. I have been able to reride at Europa Park and others though. I got about four rides on oblivion at AT in about 10 mins but had to walk round each time damb you british health and saftey laws. Never tried to reride in America!
  3. Grand National at BlackpoolPB at the end of last season! http://www.rcdb.com/ig792.htm?picture=15
  4. And even if they did they probably wouldn't recognise the cloned rides!!!
  5. I think it is fairy short sighted to discuss this case of the Ropers here. I doubt any of us know anything like everything there is to know. They moved to Alton when it was a delightfull country house with gardens and perhaps a merry-go-round! It annoys me that this is happening but I don't think its fair to chastise them by name. This just reminds us all why it is so hard to put up rides in the UK. Planning is so tight supposedly to protect the Ropers.
  6. I think most would agree that its the terrain/theming which makes nemmy great. Those who like it anyhow. So I have always thought it would be a great comparison if a park built the exact nemesis track layout in Six Flags style (on flat ground). I wonder what that ride would be like?
  7. If you build the biggest coaster in the world someone will eclipse your ride in a matter of months, initially you have a wow factor; but you are then left with a ride that is just a 'big' ride and thats about it. Pepsi Max is great but there are plenty of small but perfectly formed coasters I would prefer to ride. I would love to ride a 400 foot plus rocket coaster into the sea as much as anyone else but this ride could quite easyly put the plesure beach into the financial doldrums like we see US parks.
  8. You're right it has alot of work to do. I really hope that Black Mamba is a great invert and al the signs are there... I JUST CAN'T WAIT..no jackal don't get to excited...
  9. Blackpool shouldn't pool all their resources into one project just now as there is so much that could be done all around the park with the kind of money needed to build what is being discussed. Basically they could be putting all (and around 25 million dollars could be ALL) thier eggs into one basket. i have nevery ridden on a big rocket coaster and they do excite me but IMO a number of smaller intense rides would create a much better DAY out that one big two hour plus q of a ride. Blackpool will want to keep people in the park spending money, remember although unlimeted ride wristbands are avalable you can pay induvidually for rides. The arguments for building a world beater are that Blackpool will be thrust into the limelight and hopefully the gravy train will head its way and this shining star of a ride will be a catalyst for further growth.... I'm not sure this will work. This ride will cost so much money it may never return on its investment. Incidentally does anyone here have any clue what the cost would be of building multiple footers out to sea, does someone had any real idea of the cost this ride could be because I don't. This is all my opinion, its just what I think I may just be a pesemistic Brit
  10. I defo want to ride Black mamba when its ready. Looks great should be worth the drive.
  11. How about a 500ft lanuched Suspended woodie.... rather than spending millions on something that goes out to sea I would like to see BPB put in a few new rides like 2 B & M's or something... Surely a coaster out to sea is going to cost $25,000,000 plus plus plus. They could get a smaller rocket coaster/floorless (ie please give the UK a decent floorless pretty please) and an invert for that sort of money surely?
  12. I was sooo excited about Rita that I was at AT on the Monday after a Saturday (I think) opening. The lanuch is great but the rest was only OK... I would love to ride TTD or KK but personally I hope that blackpool doesent get a rocket but I will hold on to my had until I ride stealth at thrope park this coming season. As a side Rollercoaster is such a funny ride I was on it with my brother in September (with no Lapbars YAY) and we just laughed all the way round it was such a chuckle... The restarints are so uncomfortable on Rita I am more comfortable on AIR hanging in the restraints on the lift hill. RIDING ON RITA IS LIKE SITTING ON A PLANK OF WOOD WITH A FAT MAN WITH A BONEY BOTTOM SITTING ON YOUR SHOULDERS!!!!!!!!! Only joshing...
  13. I have only been on a few coasters in America (well Florida) but I can honestly say that nemesis is far more intense than Montu and Duelling Dragons... This is not to say that these are bad rides, they were awsome and massive feet tingling fun factorys. But because of your proimity to the ground 50mph feels more like 500mph!!!! The previous comment about the rear right seat is totally correct, the back is just so much faster than the front with more intensity and G's. So to sound overexcited but I love this ride and its cool that people who might have SFMM at thier disposal are interested in this ride in a little park in England!!!
