  1. I wonder if that boat was called SteVen?
  2. From the Silver Dollar City Thread about their new for 2018 Launched Mack Spinner, Time Traveler
  3. Piggybacking off this for a second, take a look at this sign: That sign's for the S&S Tower I've worked for the past three years. Our three towers are color-coded with the sign. 2 reds and a blue. The sign is above a fork in the queue, with a path leading to the red towers, and a path to the blue. It's astounding how many people don't know the difference, even when they're on the ride! Or how many don't realize that there are 2 separate queues for the two ride programs.
  4. Funniest thing I heard the other day, as I was heading to another movie in the cineplex, they had just let out the audience for TEM. A kid with her mother exclaimed, "That's my best new favourite movie!" The mother I could hear sighing. Then she said...."No. No it isn't." I still want to know the pitch they used to recruit Patrick Stewart to voice the poop emoji.
  5. Nope. I think that wood is going to come down and used for firewood...what's left of it. That's just my opinion however. I know there are plenty that think it's still possible. I'm not holding my breath or anything, even though I'd love an RMC creation at my home/favorite park. Would I love for it to happen? Abso-fricken-lutely. But everyday that it doesn't happen, it feels more and more like an fever dream. But I thought the same of Kentucky Kingdom's Twisted Twins...
  6. Egg burgers are always my go-to burger. Some places, I'll order a side of an egg just to put it on the burger. Now if only I can find a place that serves one on a glazed donut bun.
  7. #1--Big Thunder Mountain RailRoad, Magic KIngdom; December, 2000 #100--White Lightning, Fun Spot Orlando; March 2017
  8. I agree. The editing really did stand out as bad in this movie, and I usually never notice anything like that. The editing left the story unfocused and very little context of the film was ever given other than that all these guys are on a beach during wartime waiting for evacuation. I also saw it in a theater with terrible sound quality so that sucked. But yes, the cinematography was gorgeous. As much as I drink the Nolan kool-aid (Dark Knight all the way!), Dunkirk was a major let down.
  9. Sorry to ask, but what is a "Zen Ride"? A Zen ride is a solo ride on a coaster either in operating hours or ERT.
  10. Do you think they are hesitant or do you think it is a safety issue? Like they are worried some idiot will be dropping their phone or something in the turn around helix and having it hit the 'proposed ride' or someone on it. And congratulations on your 'ZEN' ride on Renegade, not many get to do that. I think they are hesitant because it's a safety issue. I have no doubt people would throw or drop whatever into that area and have seen loose articles in that area before. So until the park can come up with a way that they can protect the ride/riders/operators, that area will remain open. Such a solution could be as simple as a net, or as complex as an enclosed ride, or as idiotic as a complete loose article ban on Wild Thing a la Six Flags Great Adventure or the Universal Florida parks. And thank you. It's actually the second zen ride I've had on Renegade. I've also had one on Steel Venom (surprising), Corkscrew (not surprising) and Cosmic Coaster (Credit Whoring!)
  11. It might be a mirror image of SFFT's version, but this side of the mirror is better in almost every way.
  12. I don't know what I'm more surprised at about this announcement: that the park isn't calling it a coaster, or that Tilter can fit in its new rendered spot. A couple other notes: -The park continues to be hesitant to use that open helix for an attraction -Riptide/Excalibur are apparently staying for now -Our eventual frisbee won't be called Delirium -I'm curious as to how the ride groupings will change when it comes to operations. Ripcord/Tilter are currently together. Wave/Northstar/Carousel; and then there's Steel Venom/Flying Eagles, and Scrambler/Northern Lights/Antique Autos. Current 5 year plan 2018: Delirious/Route 76 upgrades, Excalibur closes 2019: Major Soak City Expansion with new gate, Dinos Alive Closes 2020: That long-awaited B&M Invert 2021: Planet Snoopy upgrades 2022: Frisbee replacing Riptide
  13. My next visit to the Branson area is tentatively scheduled for mid-March 2019. Please, SDC be open by then so I can ride your (semi) new hotness!
  14. Of the three potential big trips I have planned next year, Twisted Timbers just shot BGW/KD to front-runner. I can only imagine that airtime in the back.
  15. I'd like to thank everyone for a great season. My season ended on Friday night with the turning in of my associate ID. Now comes the getting ready to move to Tampa for college. Even though my schedule was shortened due to transportation issues, I still had an awesome year at Power Tower/MRVR and will likely return next year (Hopefully I'll learn engineer). I'll post my best of the season pics later on. In celebration of my leaving, I was able to get a zen night ride on Renegade! See you all next year! Keep calm and ride on!
  16. I highly doubt the amount of teasing has any correlation with the overall scope or quality of the attraction. Each park has their own marketing team who chose to promote and tease things in their own different ways. Exactly, just look at all the teasing KD did for their 2017 addition. #ReallyMoreComing
  17. All of you are the kids on Christmas eve where Santa is being played by Alan Schilke and Tony Clark is his elf.
  18. Unfortunately, as has been discussed many times, parks don't cater to enthusiasts. And as much as enthusiasts love the shuffling around the corners, what's the GP's perspective? The continued use of 3-bench PTCs across the industry and how they take the corners on newer, more intense coasters, can increase wear/tear and the stigma the GP have against woodies. The ACErs might picket outside the front gates, but more GP might come off with a smile.
  19. ^You obviously don't follow @Carowinds Besides, this would be nothing compared to KD's 2017 teasing. #ReallyMoreComing
  20. I wonder how the new PTC 360 trains would ride?
  21. I haven't seen an actual source, but I've heard around 7pm Dang that's later than I was expecting!? Well, if it's themed to surfing as we expect, about what time are prime surfing hours? Alternatively, it could be time to give the other announcements of the day some breathing room.
  22. What's annoying is guests jumping the fence within 5 feet of the end.
  23. Cedar Fair does that all the time. They've even used Six Flags footage for Valleyfair commercials.
  24. Woah, very interesting info! Keep this hype TRAM rolling! FTFY But this does fit in somewhat with me noticing that the height restriction waiver said that construction must begin within 3 years. I would imagine that giga construction would start in August 2019 for a potential 2020 opening. But still...
  25. Here's one I overheard while working on Valleyfair's train: "I'm not riding Steel Venom because it goes upside down." She thought that the twisted front spike inverted riders.
