  2. I cooked this burger in butter, spread some bacon grease on the bun, and topped the burger off with a little extra shredded cheese.
  3. Iron Wolf Formerly at Six Flags Great America. Got stuck on the brake run during a power outage back in 2009.
  4. Well I guess that's one way to clear snow off the tracks.
  5. I'm going to need you to say that in cash.
  6. The time: February 2020. My family was planning a vacation to Orlando for December 2020. And then shit hit the fan in a nuclear way. And as it turns out, I had Covid during the time we had planned to go. Anyways, the trip was rescheduled for December 2021. I had scheduled off 9 work days. The flight out is Friday morning. Today was supposed to be my last day of work for 2 weeks. I'm telling my coworkers on the other shift that I'll see them the week of Christmas. Hell, I even posted in the TPR Facebook group a question about the trip today. Two hours after posting that, shit gets fucked 19 ways from Sunday when my brother announced that he has been diagnosed with Covid. Less than 48 hours before the trip, everything gets cancelled. The trip, my PTO, my hopes and dreams. I'm gonna scare a couple coworkers when I show up tomorrow for work. It's not often that I can relate to characters from Kevin Smith films, but for the next two weeks, I am going to understand Dante from Clerks more than any other character from any other film.
  7. I don't know if this is specifically weather related, but as I was driving into work today, I was driving into the sunset. The time was 2:40 pm CDT. I hate how quickly it gets dark this time of year.
  8. I picked up an out of service "DEAD END" road sign for $40. I've done some work at a Halloween attraction called The Dead End Hayride.
  9. I had the radio on in my car earlier. Playing was Metallica's "Enter Sandman." The next song played was an annoying song that I fiercely dislike. And since that song had the audacity to follow Metallica, I changed the station. Not 5 seconds after I changed the station, the new station started up "Enter Sandman."
  10. I visited both parks back in 2010. I did HHN in 2016/2017. With that in mind, I have a couple questions a few weeks out from my trip: -I'll have express unlimited through Hard Rock Hotel; is the system more akin to the CF's Fast Lane or SF's Flash Pass system? Are any merge points far from load/pre-show? -Any hidden gem spots to watch the Macy's parade? -Is it a better idea to rope drop Hagrids or Velocicoaster? Do either have Single Rider lines? -Anything else I should know?
  11. When someone replaces their Halloween decorations with Christmas/winter holiday decorations:
  12. Yeah, especially since IAAPA doesn't start until Monday the 15th. Looks like we just gotta keep an eye out for someone's coverage of the event.
  13. Remember, remember the 5th of November. The gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
  14. The RMC is to be announced at IAAPA on November 12. Screengrab courtesy of Fun Spot email newsletter.
  15. Is there anything else to listen to today?
  16. This pizza box on Halloween just feels wrong.
  17. I saw what looked like a crack in my windshield and my sphincter tightened a little bit as I can't really afford to get it taken care of right now. When I inspected it further, it was a mosquito splattered on my windshield.
  18. It was also a little slow paced to start off. And as it is only the 1st half of the story, I don't necessarily agree with where it ended. Never read the books, but can those who have say if this was the best place to end part 1? Oh and, everyone should see it so part 2 can get made.
  19. A couple recent reviews No Time to Die: Full Disclosure: I've only ever really sat down to watch the Daniel Craig Bond films thus far. The film is long and it feels long. Rami Malek's main antagonist character felt weak compared to what he accomplishes in the film--and was even outwitted by a child. But at least it does feel final in terms of Craig's Bond tenure. The Last Duel: An extremely well-made film, though not necessarily one I can say that I enjoyed. Nor was it really made to be enjoyed. But at the same time, I think more people should see it. Because in actuality, the film is all about the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but lies. Halloween Kills: At least it lives up to the title. I loved how smart the original and 2018 films were. All of that is undone by a lack of communication between characters and the instability of mob mentality. Which reminds me of a line from Men In Black, "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it." And then the ending veers dangerously into Curse of Michael Myers territory that strains credibility. I was predicting that the Cult of Thorn would reenter the franchise, but as a group that idolized Michael and other such psychotics [predicted that the podcasters and Dr. Sartain from the 2018 film were members (Say Something)]. The crowd I saw the film was fun as well.
  20. A decent enough song on its own, but I love the inclusion of the "Blasphemy, before what god" speech from Bride of Re-Animator as the intro.
  21. At work, my coworker used the toilet. And the toilet would not stop flushing. As in, it was in a constant state of flush. How badly do you have to shit where even the toilet needs to wash its mouth out?
  22. Joker at Six Flags Great America on Friday.
  23. I was making note to myself that I hadn't heard a particular song in a while. As I was driving into work today, I had the radio on and that song came on. Weird how that works out sometimes.
  24. Alzheimer's can go fuck itself over, sideways, and under. My father, who's barely 60, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. It's gotten to the point where he can no longer drive. We took away his keys about a month ago to give you an idea of how far along he is. So last night, my parents went out to a movie with a couple of their friends. About 2/3 of the way, dad went out to use the toilet and didn't come back. Mom sent one of their friends out to look for Dad--make sure he didn't get lost on the way back from the bathroom. They were still looking by the time their movie ended. Theater staff got involved with the search. Turns out, Dad went into a different screen, which was showing a different movie, sat down, and watched that until the end.
  25. A couple reviews of recent horror movies: Till Death: picked it up from RedBox and it was a very fun cat and mouse thriller starring Megan Fox given something to do other than failing the sexy lamp test in Michael Bay films. The Night House: I loved the tone and atmosphere of this film. I appreciated the ambiguity of the ending and how psychologically horrifying it is. Of note: I watched Till Death the night before The Night House and both films have an inciting incident surrounding the main protagonist's husband committing suicide by gunshot to the head. Candyman (2021): Spoilers ahead. I love the original Candyman with Tony Todd and wanted to like this one more. I loved the craft of the film--especially Nia DaCosta's direction and the cinematography of John Guleserian. The plot felt directionless. The handling of some of the socio-political themes was too heavy-handed for my tastes. I was not a fan of the idea that Candyman could be any black man killed by racism--especially since the film's main character Anthony was a character in the original film (as a baby) with ties to Tony Todd's Daniel Robitaille/Candyman and how much that was referenced in this film. So when we finally got the Tony Todd cameo at the end I was just done with the film. Malignant: Hoo boy. I seriously enjoyed this film but I understand why it's a very divisive film. My biggest criticism is that it felt like it ended a beat too early because it ended on the wrong tone. It ends like a happy ending, but it should be more somber. I wish the entity's abilities were explained a little better. But now I want to know how the entity was brought to life both the physical portrayal and the makeup effects.
