Most have been moved. The elephant ride moved to Adventure Alley. The ladybugs and kiddie scrambler moved to Safari Kids. The train is supposed to be rebuilt in Looney Tunes Seaport. The kiddie swings probably weren't reinstalled because there is another kiddie swing ride in the Seaport and the only other thing there was the play structures.

Why do people like interactive dark rides?
YoshiFan replied to Dr. M's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like interactive dark rides because they make me want to try it multiple times a trip to a park (if lines were short enough) to try to get a better score compared to a regular dark ride that I would probably ride maybe once a trip. If a local park that I get to multiple times a season were to add one, I'd probably ride a few extra times a season and not worry about the game play during those rides and just focus on the scenery and theming since I would have so many chances to go to the ride. Of all the interactive dark rides I have tried, the only one I can say that I didn't like at all was the one at Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, NJ but I don't know if it even counts considering it was in the old non enclosed kiddie bumper car ride area and the targets were just lights on monsters that didn't move. It was a Zamperla Alien Invasion ride. -
I didn't know Thunderhawk is getting individual lap bars. Yeah they never seem to follow the rules right at Wild Mouse. I have even seen it where there is a parent with a 1 kid boarding 1 row and a single rider sometimes will go to the last row since it's only 2 adults total and then they are told they have to wait for the next car. Also with both magnetic gates opening at once, it looks like you are supposed to go to the row in front of you and not the entire car. Last year I skipped the coaster completely on all my trips because it's not worth waiting for especially when I can ride The Dark Knight at Great Adventure as much as I want.

I like that part of Talon too. Right after that drop is the highly banked turned and then it goes into the final helix. A new wooden coaster would be great, especially if they could somehow get a wooden coaster with a lower height requirement than 48" since they really need another coaster for kids besides Woodstock's Express and Wild Mouse.

Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread
YoshiFan replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with that, WWK is really a great waterpark for being included with admission to the amusement park. Also very rarely having any lines also is nice knowing that you can go almost anytime and never wait more than 5 - 10 minutes for a coaster. -
Dynamic Pricing in Parks
YoshiFan replied to ajfelice's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It wouldn't bother me if they raised prices on peak days. I will never go to a park on a summer weekend or a Saturday when there is a Halloween event running at the park since I have seen enough pictures of those Saturday's and I'd rather not be at a park than stand in 2+ hour lines for a coaster. -

RCDB says 1430 riders an hour but I don't think that is accurate. To get that number it would have to dispatch 1 train a minute with no empty seats. -
That's good to hear it's not a bad game. I remember the N64/Playstation/Dreamcast South Park games were horrible.

Riptide Run was fun and something different. The only thing I didn't really like about it was that on busy days, there were so many people in each section that you had to paddle your way to the next slide and it was difficult moving around with all those tubes so I tried to go to it on days that crowds were low or right before closing when hardly anyone was there.

I agree that the designated smoking areas should be away from the midways and entrances to rides. It is bad at Great Adventure in certain spots where smoking areas are just a few feet away from some ride entrances or you have to walk past them and get really close like the one in the Golden Kingdom on the way to Kingda Ka.

Best/Favorite Carousel
YoshiFan replied to NAMTABSFGAm's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gillians Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, NJ. At night they still have it set up where you can grab a ring and if you get the gold ring, you get a free ride. -

I didn't realize the ship had been there since 1990 and thought it was newer than that. -
I am trying to finish Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on PS3 (I gave up on it over a year ago but want to play the next game in the series) and restarted New Super Mario Bros Wii. I originally played New Super Mario Bros. to World 4 but stopped playing it for some reason and want to finish it before trying the Wii U version. I also opened up NiGHTS Journey Into Dreams on Wii. The original NiGHTS game on Saturn was one of my favorite games for the system so I had high expectations for the new game but I'm just finding it to be ok and not nearly as fun as the original.

Crazy Twists?

Skyrush and Batman The Ride. I would say most B&M inverts in addition to Batman but since Batman is so forceful it is probably the best Zero G roll I have seen. -

It's great to hear the Auto Race is being upgraded. It was one of the non coaster highlights of my trip to the park last year. I knew it was a car ride but had no idea how fast the cars traveled and how fun it would be. -
Most ludicrous height restrictions
YoshiFan replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Carolina Goldrusher going from 36" to 48" after Cedar Fair bought the park and nothing about the ride changed. I guess because other mine trains in the chain are 48" but it must have been annoying for kids to ride the coaster and then be told they are too short. Dorney raising Wild Mouse from 42" to 44" and adding an age requirement that you have to be 8 or older to ride even if you meet the height requirement. And for maximum height the Wild Mouse at Rye Playland has a height limit of 6 feet. No other Zamperla Wild Mouse has that restriction.
