Legendia Park Discussion Thread
KingRCT3 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why do you think that? It only appears to be a small launch out of the station, that's it. Think Twisted Colossus. Here's the video surfacing again: I'm seriously in love with this coaster! -
Yeah sure. But it's a nice addition nonetheless and I'm very happy! Fraispertuis is a small park, but they went with Intamin (this isn't the cheapest manufacturer - and when was the last time a Multi-drop 4 has been built?), 4 different gondolas including a very rare one, theming all the way and even a musical score. That's the kind of ride I want to see more often.
-
Actually, Hurakan Condor has a floorless stand-up tilt gondola, but only Apocalypse at Drayton had a stand-up tilt gondola (with a floor) beforehand, so the statement is still true (sneaky, but true). And from the reports I heard from the this gondola on Apocalypse, it's actually very different and even better than the floorless version, so this is a great news for Fraispertuis.

Fraispertuis City, home to Timber Drop the S&S El Loco, is going to open for 2017 Golden Driller, a 66m (216ft) tall Intamin free-fall tower with four different seating postions. That makes it the tallest stand-up tilt free-fall in the world, going 10m taller than Apocalypse at Drayton Manor. All details (in english) over here: Golden Driller at Fraispertuis City in 2017 The soundtrack will be made by IMAscore!

Adventureland (Iowa) Discussion Thread

The cables next to the lift are for the maintenance elevator. As for the evacuation, now that they have magnetic fins instead of anti roll-backs, they can reverse the chain (or let it go "loose") to make the train go backward. -
M&D Scotland's Tsunami derails
KingRCT3 replied to UKCoasterFan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That might be the scariest part of the article... -
But with lap-bars instead of OTSR! One thing I wish they would have modified is the second half of the ride, tho. The first part of Ispeed is an absolute blast, but as soon as you hit the Italian Loop (the weird slanted immelman) it losts its pace, and then the MCBR kills the pacing and the last part is a slow return to the station.

^ Does that design issue have affected other Schwarzkopf coasters? -

Wasn't also because the manual was only in German and not translated into English? -
M&D Scotland's Tsunami derails
KingRCT3 replied to UKCoasterFan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Exactly, on Ninja, only one car derailed. On EGF as well, only one car derailed. Same deal on Mindbender and Fujin Raijin II. Heck, isn't it the first time a whole train comes off track??? That was my first thought as well. But Ride Tek, which was the manufacturer of Cobra, was composed of former employees of... Pinfari. -

KingRCT3 replied to UKCoasterFan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I still don't understand how a whole train can derail like that. It doesn't look like it has something to do with the rails themselves - looking at the picture above, the track seems in place. So what? The first car derailed and pulled out all the followings? Why didn't the link between the cars broke instead? -
Weird Coaster Facts
KingRCT3 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Linking pics from Coasters&More doesn't work. Go there and scroll down to Intamin. But on the same topic, if you ever purchased the onride photo on Balder, you can notice a layout that is slighlty different than the real one. I suppose it was an earlier version. Notice the straight first drop and the two camel-backs instead of the pointy one just after the first U-turn. (personal pic) -
You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....
KingRCT3 replied to PCW_Nut's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Do someone remember that TV-show where a coaster enthusiast was invited and was asked various "hardcore" questions such as recognizing a coaster from the sound of it or something along those lines..? Thanks for your help! -
Amazing TR! Thank you so much - and some comments are golden. It's a bit of a surprise that you didn't liked Peter Pan that much, tho. I feel like, judging on videos, that it's an improved version -for the better or the worst- toward the originals. For instance, I do like the fact they gave it a proper ending this time.

Is this a problem with these cylinders, introduced earlier this year? Anyway, safety first! -

Great video, thanks for sharing! I love how the broadcast couldn't even keep up with the ride madness! By the way, isn't that the first RMC to be equiped with a silent anti roll-back device? You can see the extra metal fin on the right, and, well, hear no claclaclac sound. Love the smoke burst in the tunnel - I hope this effect will last! -
Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread
KingRCT3 replied to zburns999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree, I was watching videos of them all, trying to spot the differences! Some have a statue at the beginning, others have a plant, the layout varies each time, the Joker scene is layed out differently, etc. But one difference particularly struck me regarding the Mexico version... I mean except aside from the language. There is no squinching in the 3D sequences! Squinching is the dynamic deformation of a 3D image according to the position of the vehicle, creating a depth effect and the illusion of looking through a windows rather than at a flat screen. It make me sad, but in hindsight it mostly makes me wonder why such a downgrade..? I get that you have to redo the squinching for each particular ride as their layouts are different, but Sally did it with all the others clones... No squinching in the Mexico version. Squinching in the Over Texas version. Look at the buildings. -
Shanghai Disney Resort Discussion Thread
KingRCT3 replied to Dr Freeze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Daaamn! (Now I wish I hadn't read you comment before seeing the video, but oh well) I was actually already thinking about how Disney could use a skydiving fan set-up for an Iron Man stunt show, after seeing this particular routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atUMnbQXitw But I also thought you'd have to have the tube around, and helmets for stunt men! Having it (almost) seamlessly blending with the stage is incredible. Now I still think an indoor Iron-Man show could be amazing. Add fly-boards and drones and you got it! -

This coaster keeps looking better and better! I love the zero-car. Thanks A TON for the POV (and pictures) guys! I love how people involved in the project in various aspects are posting in there. It shows how passionate everyone are! From the shadow on the picture of the keyhole above, looks like there were people onride. @open_door: Any chance to see a backseat POV, please? By the way, the lift-hill will indeed be filled with wood: (seen on NLE) -

The video works fine on my end. The only thing that bugs me with Upstop Media videos, and I say that because I know he's reading here, is the wide FOV that makes everything looks squished. And maybe the coloring that is a bit weird (like faded out), but that's cosmetic. Other than that, it's a great video and I can't wait for the cinematic one (with bogie views and everything!). Thanks a lot, Scotty! -
