  1. Forbidden Journey is the longest queue I ever made I think. In addition to the normal queue, we went through some extra parts in the Jurassic Park land, and even in the backstage next to HP's show building. Also, Europa Park's Fjord Rafting queue got A TON of switchbacks, and they made us walk them all! It was full of people but we were walking at a normal pace. Really, truly, dizzying.
  2. I was wandering through Skyplex website, and I came across this picture that nobody seemed to notice. Unlike other renders which were a little bit crooked when it comes to the track, this one seems to show the real layout! Or at least a more realistic version of it. I spot an inversion at the very top! Looks like an heartline roll that ends in an outward banked turn and dives! Crazy. We can see three MCBR during the descent, which is honestly not that much (= cool thing), but I do expect extra trims. I wonder how they're going to support the track, though.
  3. I was wondering, do the US version have many audio issues? Because here at DLP, it's pretty common...
  4. It rides the same as far as I heard. There was no retracking (except for the loop which remains the same) nor trains change. Only the scenery was cleaned up and the process modified.
  5. Finally got to ride it yesterday. The area is very beautiful with a lot of details, Disney did a great job. The queue line is pretty, yet not astonish (and definitely not interactive! ), but what bugged me is how short it is, even with the outside part. Don't know how this will turns out in summer. The ride itself was kinda a disappointment for me, as the screen-parts were not immersive at all (except for the last-one, when you're in a dome). The fact is you're not moving in front of the screens, there are only some vibrations and no motions either. And moreover, you definitely see the floor and that is not forgivable. You feel like you're in a theater, as you can also see the other vehicles, standing still next to you. That was for the bad things, but the ride got some cool ones too, it's not 100% garbage don't get me wrong! The 4D effects are really nice (although you don't feel them equally depending of your seat), the physical sets are well done and the ending scene sequence in Remy's cuisines smells very good! The vehicules (still ugly, even in person) move like crazy, especially when you're about to get off the ride; it drift toward the platform it's almost scary. I have to say their moves make me feel a little bit sick at the end, too. So this new addition is well welcomed, here at the WDS. The area is especially incredible, as is the new restaurant. But the ride is not something that makes you say WOW. It's more like a really advanced 4D theater, that is fun and enjoyable, but not epic in any way.
  6. Mack did everything on their own for Alpina Blitz, Stengel didn't work with Mack on this project. You mean you know how the project was carried out more than the park owners themselves?
  7. Camiel isn't an engineer guys, he is a designer, a guy that gives ideas (my dream job!). And that reminds me of the story of Alpina Blitz. Who designed this ride? Patrice Gélis, the owner of Nigloland (the design is heavily based on Piraten, YES, but because they liked it. It could have been 100% custom if they wanted). This guy grew up as a fairground entertainer, then build up his business with his park. But he never was an engineer, and all he has is imagination and talent. Like Camiel. That said, Patrice Gélis designed the layout, but Stengel came after to calculate that layout. And from what I understand regarding Coaster-Lab (correct me if I'm wrong), Golden Horse was looking for fresh ideas and designs. Camiel replied and they had a deal. Camiel designs stuff (visual, concepts, feelings...), Golden Horse or/and their german partnerships calculate and build the rides.
  8. Psssh, you jelly, that's it. Shenzhou Coaster is science, Shenzhou Coaster is technology! " "Shenzhou" Coaster is one of the world-class hanging seat ride with high-grade precision and advanced technology which features on space traveling. Blahblahblah. This ride is good for both entertainment and education purposes. " About the 16-inversion coasters, here it is: Camiel (Coaster-Lab) at the Asian Attraction Expo, with his designs Golden Horse choose to showcase and sell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s3l2NlAmNQ Coaster-Lab said one model is coming to Europe soon, and it will be manufactured in Germany. We'll see how this will turns out!
  9. I'm quoting Maximilian Roeser from Mack Rides, from the answer he gave me:
  10. It's a funicular railway, powered by cables. Certainly easier than having the motor inside the trains.
  11. Exactly. By the way, it's strictly forbidden to put you hands up on any coasters (I once sent an idea to Mack Rides and their engineers actually had a chat about it, but it was impossible because of that rule... Booh.). Yet SFGA made a post on Facebook saying: "Do you dare to put your hands in the air?" (June 4th). But when I noticed them it was actually against their rules and thus a little bit clumsy to promote that, my comment was deleted.
  12. Yup you do, you pick them up after the pre-shows, right before the station.
  13. This kid sure know how to approach someone, haha!
  14. And as Shavethewhales said, this is not the Mack we all love. About today's clue, I think the important part is "this wood was once part of a towering tree". Maybe it will re-use parts of an existing attraction? If they hadn't scrapped PP, I'd thought they were going to add a full layout to it, like Divertical, or more. I also thought about a RMC make-over, but the only one that could take the benefits of that is The Voyage. I don't think HW would agree to scrap their classics. But again, what about the new footers so?
  15. Or the tunnel was set on fire. By the way, what's up with those ugly Six Flags stickers on the train? Is that permanent? Hope they're only for the media day. EDIT: This is a beautiful screenshot: And you can clearly see the twist -then- the drop of the dive loop.
  16. Wait - some of you guys think the clue was literally "You'll be disappointed"? I don't think this would be a good marketing strategy for sure!
  17. This TV commercial is so lame... Unoriginal, lack a voiceover, and the family makes it looks like a scenic ride, while it's meant to be an adventure. I rather like this awesome fan-made video! And the making-of :
  18. Another newsbit from my speculations: - Kärnan will be damn epic Each news about that project is amazing! I'm sincerely very hyped-up, especially when you see what they did with Fluch! (If you only watched a POV or been there the first year, don't miss the improvements they added since!)
  19. Exactly. And being in the middle seat in the middle row is the closer you can get from being at the center of mass of the train! /nerdgasm.
  20. That's because of the point of view of the picture, but that dive loop is indeed divided in two distinct phases : .I would have liked it better more fluid as well (B&Mish), because it seems like it's the same feeling as the zero-g stall, making the latter less surprising as you've been "spoiled" by this one.
  21. I think there are two opening like this, in each side of the wall. Coming from London, they took the left one and there's another one to the right. Is anyone here can confirm the Hogwart Express was designed by Doppelmayr?
  22. I think the images of the dog, the boat, the barrel and the seagull are codes, and the pictures of the clouds are keys. I found out that some images have the same size. I tried to superimpose them but without any success.
  23. Wow, you're right: LR during construction (pic by Mark Brunner). The newly added beam, just underneath the train. What can we conclude about that? Was it really "unsafe" or "too much"? Or KK did that to shut everyone mouth?
  24. You might know that Nigloland took their inspiration for Alpina from Piraten, that they rode and really liked back in 2009. Actually, they even took the original plans from the danish ride, and drew their version over it. Piraten in blue, Alpina Blitz in red.
