  1. So why not in every row then..?
  2. I still don't understand the logic... Does Lagoon actually want us to witness that? ("Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle, and watchout for decapitated bodies"?) We agree it would have happened either way, right? If I'm a park manager and I do witness that once, I make sure that afterward my ride is safer than ever (thing that I DON'T DOUBT Lagoon is doing), not that I have a witness for the insurance.
  3. Wow already finished?! Just as the Accelerator (Red Fire), that was really fast! Thanks to a great planning and design I guess. (By the way, is Red Fire a nod to BlueFire or is that a pure coincidence?)
  4. It's a Technical Park MAXX 4. Nothing unsafe about it. At the Prater it's basically the same concept indeed, but made by Funtime instead.
  5. Still, from what he said, it seems that the cast acted like he didn't care. He should have told everyone that he saw it, and that he was handling the situation.
  6. The "no single rider" policy is a result of too much safety mesure and leads to non-sense in my opinion as well. I mean, it won't prevent any incident, and furthermore, when I'm riding, I don't babysit my co-rider but I'm focusing on my ride instead. (S)he can do things I won't see because, you know, I'm having fun. Now, I do see if he gets sick or something like that - but incident like ejections (the reason why this policy exists IIRC) are just so sudden... Plus, they basically wants you to have the picture of your friend being thrown out to his death engraved in your head? If they really want witnesses, they'd better invest into dashcams. Anyways, it's always more reliable than GP humans witnesses...
  7. Teaser video And artworks: Cobra's Curse I love the custom design down to the trains! The first outside banked turn into the Cobra will be cool as well. On the video, you can also spot Montu, so the ride will be next to it.
  8. Yes, it's a carbon-copy (Except that lap-bars are going to make it even more better! ).
  9. It's a new kind of track, pretty much like what Gerstlauer did between the Eurofighter and Infinity. Now, the cross-ties are round instead of square, and yeah, there are less of them in the low-g sections.
  10. First footage with POV/reverse POV/off-ride shots! And duelling on the second lap!
  11. Wow. Is this thing really in a Six Flags? There are some great moments, the animatronics looks excellent and the vehicle moves like a charm. The lighting is really cool, that's a relief for me. I love the practical effects, the Musion Lex Luthor, the mist screen, the fire... Actually my only grip is the pacing of the ride, killed by the interactivity. Contemplative part - Stops - Pew pew sequence - Contemplative part - Stops - Pew pew sequence, etc. It might have been better to have physical targets. The last big screens lack some transitions too, and the CGI is a bit too dated - I don't think there is squinching involved (could be wrong, though, as the vehicle always stops in front of the screens). In the end, this is really a big win, way better than the Cedar Fair attemp to dark-rides. It's really action-packed, easily re-rideable, seems like a lot of fun, with also some actual physical scenes to remember (It's more striking than anything you see through a screen). So, for me, it's not quite up on par with Spidey, scaling-wise, storyline-wise, artistically-wise and pacing-wise, but I can understand those who will prefer this over the others.
  12. NTAG has the Gerstlauer trains, though. ^ What a review!
  13. The physical sets are looking rather good! But yeah, the video is meh with all the CGI effects and editing... Whatever, it's a nice first glance in condition. The Joker is really impressive, and the blast with the barrel is amazing, really! I also noticed strobe lights in the vehicle, so I think we can expect some 4D effects, which is excellent. The GCI and screens won't be on par with Spidey/Transformer (still can't tell if there is squinching or not) but the overall experience might be just as fun - and I think that's their goal. But, but... What is happening there? Why is the vehicle doing a 360° to face a bland wall while there is this awesome animatronic behind your back?! And I don't know if these will be the real one, but the 3D glasses are looking really cool!
  14. I was honestly surprised about Iron Reef, because I had no expectations left, back then when I heard it'll be "a game" more than a ride. Actually, it's more of a true dark-ride than WGM. So don't take my comment as a heartless bashing toward KBF or Trio-Tech or anyone. Just me being nitpicky. Ok, so the first physical scenes are really cool, however some details are really bothering me (spoiler: I'll talk about the projectors). The doors, oh-my, the doors. At least the second one as a nice metal-thing patern printed on it... But seriously, look at their bottom! The black sheet, and even more the company logo is just so out of place... watch?v=6Ox3wSrgnQk I'm happy for you Rytec, but come on... Then, my biggest questioning is about the diving room. Why on Earth can we see underwater before our dive??? watch?v=6Ox3wSrgnQk A third door would have been welcomed in here, plus you'd be fully enclosed, and that'd makes you feel in a submarine more than a corridor. At least the on-screen video is really cool. Then the mist curtain is really neat, I love it! But then... watch?v=6Ox3wSrgnQk Oh come on. How can you dare to say you have to turn around and really be looking for it to see the projectors? You're basically looking at a bland wall (the artwork looks nice, but it's not highlighted at all), and you have two strong lights facing at you. It's not only visible, it's eye-catching! If they were only visible, it wouldn't matter that much (actually the others are not bothering me). The last flaw I see in this ride is the intergration of the screens. In the end, I don't know if that was a good idea to set the screens into some physical rockworks. On those rides, there are two kind of screens: - The window-type, that does basically what a windows would do ; gives you a peek of what's behind it. It is set in a space. - The virtual world-type, that is like a movie screen. You're not in the ride building anymore, but fully immerged into the screen. And Iron Reef mixes them both. Their settings is making them looking like windows : ok, so you're looking through a hole in the rocks, you're still physically in the set - but then, their content is like a virtual world, where it induces a motion, a movement. In the end, and from POVs only, I find WGM to be more immersive on the CG side, because the surrounding of the screens is pitch-black, and thus you're fully immerged into the screens.
  15. Yes, we could tell it when the piece was on the ground.
  16. As always, thanks for the updates lallal! That logo is pretty cool.
  17. You kidding, right? Have you seen how non-inverting it is? That means it's like two small top-hats with -hopefully- a ton of airtime!
  18. The track is not entierely up, maybe 1/3 is (?).
  19. I hadn't heard of Musical Circus until now, and damn, that's disturbing.. and impressive at the same time. How does the ride system works? The seats are on a turntable, but does it goes up and down too? And can it also moves horizontally...?!
  20. It would have been cool I guess to paint the two rails in a different color and make one side Batman, the other a villain. Like this. None of these color suit Batman I know, it's more like the Joker I also thought of putting a long fin on the lift hill: bam, the world first front/backflip lift in the world!
  21. It's a personnal opinion, but for me split-screen videos (or picture-in-picture thingy) are absolutely the worst thing ever to do for a coaster video. It's just distracting, and anyway I'm going to play it twice to focus each time on one part.
  22. The weirdest thing about that is that they actually added the SLC after the B&M...
  23. The park did an AWESOME job here. Congrats to all the peeps behind that. Check the dolphin arena ("Spectacle Révérence"), you'll be thrilled!
  24. I really enjoy them, as much as front row's. It's not as popular on YT and that's a shame. Rides are so much different from the back row! The ideal situation to shoot a backseat POV in my opinion is to have an empty train, with a few people in the front rows. That way nobody blocks the view, but having some people give a sense of scale - plus you can feel better what it's like by watching peeps than watching a totally empty train.
