Nowadays I agree with you. But you can't forget the fact that unlike those other parks, Dorney was at one time all set to become the region's heaviest hitter, right around the time they received the first hyper on the east coast. If you grew up with that image in mind then it's hard to shake. I'm not quite as eager as everyone else for a GCI woodie, because old GCIs just typically aren't that great and Dorney wouldn't keep it pristine. If we're speaking strictly realistically, then I would want a small tightly plotted wing coaster with a second half as intense as Thunderbird's except twice as long. Which, btw, wouldn't be that long. So it could happen. I think Cedar Fair is done building B&M's at small parks. Last one was Patriot in 2006.

They really are a horrible idea. They have them at my home park (Worlds of Fun) and it really throws me off my game when there is a group of "No-Boo" necklaces. Sure, I can understand if there was maybe one for every ten groups, but if your whole group needs one, then don't come during HAUNT. -

I'd suggest the Season Pass Podcast, as they have a very detailed rundown of the maze from all three years (including audio from the maze). I'm not sure I would call it a decline. Paranormal Inc is a big step up in show quality. I'd say it's the same as last year in the sense that it's clear one maze got the majority of the budget/attention (Voodoo last year, Paranormal Inc this year), while the rest of the mazes remained the same (despite minor tweaks). If they only have the budget to make one really good maze, then why don't they just build one maze a year? My homepark's haunt event used to build 2-3 new attractions a year, and they didn't turn out so well. This trend ended at around the 2008 season. Since then most of the mazes have been replaced by huge, elaborate mazes that rival most of Knott's better mazes. Sure, it's not as marketable as 3 or 4 new attractions, but overtime the event will be much better as a whole. Our event has almost no duds this season, and all the mazes end up finished opening day.

Premier launched coaster for Worlds of Fun. A dark ride wouldn't be too shabby, but that's already in the works. -

I really hope HAUNT turns out well this year. It has been an absolute disaster from the inside (in terms of management) so I'm hoping it won't show at the event. I doubt it will. But if you're going, make sure to come see me down in the Boneyard! -

How? Because SFOG is getting a Aqua Twist with their's? Big whoop. Even with the new stuff in both areas, they still have fewer kiddie rides than WOF We all have to admit, SFOG murdered our announcement. 12 new rides vs 5? Give me a break! -
They're fun, but to me, I personally just wanted to go into the rest of the maze! The vignettes take too long to develop IMO. It's a great concept though. At least it gives something for the people who pay for the upcharge to look forward to. I give them credit for doing it. I don't think any of the other haunts that have a fast pass system do anything like this, do they? From what I've heard, Worlds of Fun and Knott's came up with the idea together (and WoF actually announced theirs first!) But both parks do them with different purposes. Also, is anyone else surprised to hear NOTHING about an Iron Reef overlay?

But what about the scary farm. The scary farm though....... Like I said, some will say Knott's. Some will say WoF. It's really hard to see how amazing WoF's until you go. -

If you are including shows, Knott's has the same amount of attractions as WoF. If not, then Knott's has one more. I know a lot of people like to compare WoF and Knott's Halloween events, but it really is a hard comparison to make as they are two totally different events. WoF uses permanent structures for their houses, while Knott's uses existing structures within the park. WoF will take the best ideas from other parks and put their own twist to it, while Knott's will come up with new concept on their own. There are so many more differences. I prefer WoF's techniques and event in general, but it's so hard to compare as they are totally different. I would say WoF's event is insanely underrated imo. They have one of the best events in the country and the best event in the Cedar Fair chain imo. -

Spoiled Enthusiast Mode Activating You don't understand. It's been a year since they added their last coaster. I don't want to ride the same rides over and over again. I feel like Kings Island will be similar to Six Flags Great Adventure where they have great attendance but they won't add new coasters that often because they don't get the return on investment that they want. -

New event during Haunt: Haunts and Coasters. It'll be an ACE exclusive event with a catered meal, behind-the-scenes tours, and VIP "Seating" at Overlord's Awakening. -

I'm very sad I won't be able to go this year. I've gone at least twice the past 4 I imagine no other park will compare because of how high WoF sets the bar. They might do a lot of things wrong, but Halloween is one thing worlds of fun does all too right. I've been to a lot of Halloween events, but WoF tops all of them, even Knott's... I will be working at Haunt this year in the Boneyard, so I can't wait to scare you all... -

Just the absolute clueless were claiming a coaster was coming in 2016. Those in the know and ones that follow the park knew that would not be the case. The flyers were always on tap for this year. Originally it was going to be just the flyers and a new gate. The new gate coincidentally is already designed and will be coming in the near future. When the park decided that the earmarked funds were not sufficient to do the front gate redesign the way they wanted the money became available to do something else. It was then that the idea to add to Planet Snoopy came into fruition. After seeing the success KI had with adding the flyers to their Planet Snoopy, the plan changed to locating them there along with adding more kiddie rides (which are cheaper than mega thrill rides - more bang for your buck). Also related is that money also had to be budgeted to continue work on the re profiling of Timber Wolf. The plan is to still take two more seasons to finish the project but there is a possibility of that being sped up. Also unless something drastic happens, look for place making and a new Darkride in Bicentennial Square for 2017. This is supposedly the next "area" that will be upgraded (and falls in line with a future coaster plaza in that area rumor). Oh and ThunderHawk *may* be back next year. Its fate is still being decided. If it is removed, I've heard rumor that entire area might be shut off for 2016 and Timber Wolf would use its "Haunt season exit" where it empties by the Cyclone Sam's exit by Planet Snoopy. Again lots can change between now and the start of the 2016 season. How would you shut off an open area of the park like that? It doesn't make sense to me. What about Blood on the Bayou? Or CarnEvil? You cant put just put a small fence up. That would look almost trashy. -

Well, after doing some research, Worlds of Fun will have more kid's rides than any other Cedar Fair or Six Flags park when the upgraded Planet Snoopy is unveiled next year. And that's not counting the FIVE kiddie areas of the water park, which is again more than any other Cedar Fair park. Well, all I have to say is, if you wanna take your kids somewhere, and don't have a Disney budget, WoF is like their dream come true. Now let's make it the same for the thrill seekers. If we already have the most, please don't keep adding more rides for kids. It's pointless! Half our lineup is kids rides! -

Um....Intimidator 305 says hello. Wow that was one of the most incorrect statements ever. Volcano, Hypersonic, and I-305 were all risky investments. And wait... BGW?? Lol the park with three B&M's, a family launcher, a tried and true launcher, and an old looper? What, is Mach Tower "risky" because it's always broken? Hypersonic and Volcano were built before CF owned the park. I305 was huge, but it was nothing risky. The chain had already built a gigs coaster at the time and had been working with INTAMIN at the time. -

The main problem with WoF and Cedar Fair especially is that they are okay with being #2 as long as they are making money. Kings Dominion never competes with Busch because they still make tons of money and they are scared to take chances. Same situation with Knott's and SFMM, Dorney and Hersheypark, etc. They are like the really smart kid in school taking regular classes because it's comfortable and it doesn't challenge him. CF would be a much better company if they decided that #2 wasn't an option anymore. -

I'm telling you right now that there will most likely not be a new coaster within the next three years. Just being honest.
