  1. I'll just say this: All-season refill bottles are the best addition of 2016 at WoF.
  2. WOW!!! OMG!!! I can't think of the last time WoF got a family addition! (Besides 2015, 2012, 2011, 2010) HOLY SH**!!! I was starting to think that WoF relied a little to heavily on thrill rides (2014, 2009) so i'm glad they are bringing it back to families! YAY!!! I'm sure this announcement is in no way trying to avoid the cost of a new thrill ride! IT'S A WIN FOR EVERYBODY! YAY! #WOFISAWESOME #SDCISDEAD
  3. A small part of me is really hoping for a coaster, but I know its futile. I really wish we could get our hands on a wing-coaster. I may be on one of the few on here that really loved Gatekeeper at CP. Then you'll love 2017 at SDC. If that's true, that really bothers me. SDC is making great investments recently. Giving people a reason to go to Branson rather than WoF. That's why it bothers me that, in my eyes, Cedar Fair and WoF management haven't been positioning WoF to win this region... With that being said, I've never been to SDC, so I'm going to probably be making that trek soon. Unless we got a Carowinds-type expansion, I don't even know if Worlds of Fun could ever be as good as SDC. I know from a guest perspective many will still go to WoF for the free waterpark. I'd say SDC is my favorite theme park in the midwest, but WoF's collection of rides is much more rounded.
  4. I agree, launch coaster. I know CF will never give us a Giga, but why did they give us a hyper? Being from Nebraska I want to go on a giga someday but there's nowhere close except for WOF. What I mostly want is for CF to stop neglecting it's smaller parks. I am not asking for 250+ ride, I just want something nice more often than every 7 years. NOTHING new since 2009 at WOF except for a lousy broken hand-me-down windseeker. The GM for the park stated in their meeting they had earlier this week (possibly just a QandA thing) that he would like to see a launched coaster, so that is in the realm of possibilities for the future, will that happen now, doubtful. I could see them putting a giga in at WoF at some point in the future. It needs something to differentiate itself from the other parks in the region, and it is also Cedar Fairs only park in the immediate region as well. Do I see it happening...I'm iffy on that, on the one hand, I can see them doing some big things to the park to try and drive attendance and to differentiate it from its regional competitors, at the same time, it may not have the level of attendance they want for something like that. I would also like to add that they were looking at INTAMIN launch coasters, cause B&M costs too much for the park.
  5. Budget for capital expansions comes from CF's pocket, not WoF's. It is a common misconception that all parks spend their revenue on new coasters. Cedar Fair pays for them all.
  6. New rides for Worlds of Fun in 2016 confirmed at Coaster Mayhem. Announcement is Thursday. I don't know exactly what rides, but there are new rideS coming. Also a few notes: -Dark ride is close. They have a location (near Steelhawk) but they are still working on the middle phases of design. -New front gate is close. They wanted to build one earlier, but they wanted proper funding to make it look nice. -Rides have already been bought from Europe to go to WoF. Not this next season, though. -Free Fast Lane for season pass renewals. -Frank Wilburn wants a launch coaster!!!
  7. I'm guessing it's because Carowinds has a bigger potential market than WoF.
  8. I'm not gonna complain too heavily about WoF. It could be much, much worse. No matter if you love or hate Steelhawk, it was a fantastic addition to the park. WoF is the only smaller park that has a Windseeker. And no matter what you think of the ride, you have to admit that the view from the top is jaw dropping. We also got an awesome water slide complex in 2013, making OoF one of, if not the best water park in the CF chain. Let's not forget that WoF had almost ten years of constant growth in the 2000's. 4 coasters in 10 years is quite the accomplishment. And let's not forget that Prowler was added on the 11th year. I do think we need something new but I'd much prefer a dark ride rather than a coaster at this point. Let's also not forget how much money CF has put into our Halloween event. Our Halloween event is one of the top 5 largest in the chain (attendance-wise) and CF has given us some love for it. Not every park has the ability to build completely new buildings for their mazes. Im proud we don't have a "bumper car maze" or a "drywall in a field" maze. We are adding our biggest one yet this year: Blood on the Bayou.
  9. It's funny cause if WOF just took the mat racer CF offered them then none of the parks would have that awesome complex. You can thank WOF management for those shiny new slides. I've never heard this story. Details? While at Coaster Mayhem in 2013 the GM told me that CF offered them a mat racer and a water park overhaul. WOF responded saying they wanted something more original in their water park to gain more attention (especially with Schlitterbahn building the world's tallest water slide in the same city). So they asked White Water what they could do with the area and White Water offered them what they have now. So yes, OOF pretty much developed the complex with the help of White Water. The capacity of a mat racer, but with six unique slides for the whole family. It was genius.
  10. WoF spent $10 million on OOF in 2013. Steelhawk cost WOF $250K.

  12. Here, I'll make a guess, a ride that has had an accident at it's last park and they'll just move it to Worlds of Fun. Or a ride that has tons of mechanical issues and it's park doesn't want to pay for the upkeep anymore so they'll move it to Worlds Of Fun. How accurate do you think I am? Or similar to 2015, they can make a big deal about a tiny addition like a playground and then put some scooters for rent in a small area, similar to how in 2015 they made a big deal over a tiny water play structure which was basically a platform with a few squirting fountains and a small slide that you could find at Home Depot, and then they replaced unpopular, up charged row boats, with unpopular, up charge SWAN boats. You can tell I'm angry with Cedar Fair screwing Worlds Of Fun EVERY year. And then we heard rumors that we would FINALLY get something good for 2016 since we haven't gotten anything worth it since Prowler, and then they put that project on hold. The paddle boats aren't up charge, are they? I know the kayaks weren't.
  13. This would look so good at Dorney, Worlds of Fun, or Valleyfair. But at CP, it almost laughable. Why does CP need another roller coaster. Would've been more excited to see a dark ride. The layout looks so uninspired and boring. Again, at a smaller park, this layout could've done wonders. At CP, it won't even be in the top 5. So disappointing.
  14. With Prowler, tons. Probably the biggest tease i've ever seen for a ride, even more than Banshee and Fury. But marketing teams have changed, so...
  15. Maybe it's just me, but a dive coaster still sounds like such a stupid idea in my opinion. Do we really need a huge steel coaster at Cedar Point? Is that what they're missing? I think Cedar Point needs a GOOD wooden roller coaster from GCI or a Triotech dark ride before this. Cedar Point does not need a new steel coaster until they improve other parts of the park. Sure, I might be in the minority when I say this, but if CP builds a new Dive Coaster, I'd be disappointed. Especially if that's the only park to get a roller coaster, and the smaller parks are passed over AGAIN.
  16. I'd be very happy for a new entrance. A flat will be fun, but a new gate will almost make the park feel new again. I love it.
  17. Frank Wilburn told us at Coaster Mayhem that they put Steelhawk where it was so they can expand into the area behind it in the future. Smart move, I do have to say. It would be great for them to build a Tempesto clone back there, or even better, a launched B&M. I don't think the park needs more lift hills at the moment, but I would not complain one bit. Launch is what j would prefer though.
  18. While I'd love to believe you, I have a hard time doing so. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
  19. I got some name ideas for Kings Dominion 305 coaster .Iron Hawk 305 .Mantis 305 .Steel Beast 305 .Son of Anaconda .Interstate 305 Speed Coaster Don't forget CarHawk
  20. Got confirmation from the GM himself at Coaster Mayhem last year. Something along the lines of "We will be focusing on the WOF side in 2016 and 2017." Sure, things can change, but it's not like we are just making stuff up.
  21. Next two years are for WOF additions. An OOF addition would be nice though.
  22. Guess I just never heard about it maybe. You sure it wasn't just a rumor? Not like it matters. Everything about this park is just speculation. Was talking to the GM at WOF last year and they said they had a contract to build one at every park before the accidents.
