Most rides close at 20-25mph. Sky ride closes at 20mph. Hopefully you'll be safe with the 16mph winds. But remember the winds that close the rides are monitored from the top of the ride. Example: If the winds at the top of Top Thrill Dragsters tower are over 25mph (I belive is the limit) then Top Thrill Dragster will close. So if it's 16mph winds on the ground it may still close the rides because the winds are obviously higher the higher up you go. Hope this helps a little. -
Ride Bucket List
DoinItForTheFame replied to Evanaj15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Everything at SFMM!!! I have yet to go to this park, and there are so many bucket list rides there. Including YOLO Coaster, X2, and TC! Not to mention Lex Luther Drop Of Doom!! Also on the list: Banshee! (Thankfully I will be riding that this summer!) Diamondback: KI! (Again will be riding it this summer!) GateKeeper! (Yet again, will be riding it this summer!) I also really want to ride Formula Rossa!! -

Wow. I do not think I have ever heard of someone hating Maverick. However, each person is entitled to their own opinion! I am curious to know what your favorite ride is at Cedar Point! -

I'm not by any means trying to "backseat mod." I just know this topic has been talked about many times before. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60058&hilit=bucket+list MOD EDIT: Thank you, but I was about to take care of it. -
I would post and picture of my pet... but the last phot of my pet I have was when I found her dead. I found our family cat of 12 years dead today. She was such a perfect flawless kitty. She always made us laugh. Even when she didn't try . She was the best kitty ever... but then she was murdered.

Neat video. Glad you finally got the High Five worked out so that the coaster now clears it! Can't wait to see more! -

Things happen, and things come up. I'm sure there's a valid reason behind why they took off. Company Convince is a generic response. I read that Maverick hit it's ride time limit without a reset. It had to go offline to reset the system, or they couldn't run it anymore. I know several people that have operated Maverick in the past, and no one has ever mentioned a "ride time limit," nor have I ever heard of it on any other coaster. -

Top Thrill Dragster is currently closed, and Gatekeeper seems to be down right now too. Sad day. -
Wow. I had no idea deep water dive was so tall. That's one of those water slides that would really get my heart racing as I stepped into the capsule. Looks like we will be making a new Theme Park road trip this summer. The drive will be worth it just for that slide... and Lighting Run. Thanks for the on going report. It's great! Great photos too!

^^ It's sad to think that these young individuals went to the park to have a good time, and leave with something that is going to physically change their life forever. It makes me greatful for the thousands of safe roller coaster/theme park ride rides that I have had. Hopefully these 4 people pull through this and have a speedy recovery as much as they possibly can. -

Why wouldn't that have been done in the off season? -

Perfectly said. I agree with not expecting an accident like this at a REAL park and on a REAL ride. I mean... this is something I would expect to hear about smaller at a China park. -

Wow. I'm very surprised that this accident could even happen. I am with those who are guessing that the coaster was in "manual mode" when this happened. Having operated several major coasters this is the only thing I see possible. However, I look forward to hearing what actually caused this once the investigation is complete. My thoughts are with those injured in the accident and hopefully they will have a speedy recovery. -

YES!! If you have the chance/opportunity to go to Cedar Point you should go! It is a great park, and it is well worth the time, and money. As crazy as it sounds I stick to the chain restaurants when I am in the park. I eat lunch at Chick-Fil-A back by Maverick, and will grab Pink's Hotdog later in the evening. However, I am not one to eat a lot while at parks. I would highly suggest buying a Souvenir Drink Bottle online before you go. It's only $10.99 when purchased online, and you get FREE refills on the day of your first visit. Even if you only fill it with water it is cheaper than buying bottles of water. If you are only wanting to hit up the "major" coasters you will be fine as long as you get there in time for ERT, and possibly staying for LRT. I know there were lockers located next to MF, and TTD. Don't take anything large, and wear shorts with zipper pockets, and you will be fine.. But just in case: Source. Make the trip!! Seriously, you will not regret it. If I were you I would really try to come up with the extra money for FL(+) It will make your visit 100% more enjoyable, and you will feel less rushed. -
Having only been on Millennium Force my vote is still going to go to Intimidator 305. Now Millennium Force is by no means a "bad" coaster... I had always heard how amazing Millennium Force is, how Millennium Force was so many people's number one coaster, how it had the best airtime they have ever experienced. . . I guess I was just so hyped up for the coaster that when I rode it... it never lived up to my expectations that was set by the reviews of others. To me Millennium Force has a great first drop, and first over banked turn... but after that I just get . . . Bored?? As for Intimidator 305... Just watching POVs of this coaster, and watching videos of this coaster I can tell it would be my favorite Giga coaster. It has an amazing drop, and some awesome low to the ground transisistions. Making my first trip out to ride it next summer and I am beyond excited!
