  1. Wow! They are moving right along with the "Legendary Coaster" wall. Can't wait to see what the future holds!
  2. We don't know that the coaster "just killed someone." She may have had a pre-existing condition which would mean that the coaster is not to blame.
  3. Add Raptor at Cedar Point to my list. Everyone raves about how amazing and how great this coaster is... and I just don't get it. To me it's not that great, it's not that amazing, and the awful "snap" going into the brake run makes me really dislike the coaster.
  4. Oh wow, what beautiful photos! (As always!) Can't wait for our trip to Cedar Point next month!! So excited!! Thanks for sharing the photos!!
  5. ^ Which is why the rides are down for high winds frequently.
  6. Granted I do LOVE Cedar Point, but when it comes down to me picking "The Best Amusement Park" Cedar Point is in the top 5, but it is not number one. Yes, they do have an amazing, one of a kind roller coaster line up, and they have a great selection of flat rides, and a decent selection of water rides, but that is where this park ends for me. It does not have the amazing theming that I look for in a park. It has very minimal theming for that matter. The only ride that has any real theming (to me) is Maverick. The food is... blah, to say the least. And the staff for the most part is just okay. So aside from the outstanding roller coaster line up, there is really nothing else that makes this park stand out to me. Like I said, I do LOVE the park, and I can not wait to go back next month, but it just is not what I would call "Worlds Best Amusement Park" material.
  7. Nice photos!! Thanks for sharing! These pictures got me super excited for my first visit to KI next month!! Can't wait to ride Banshee!!
  8. I think I've asked an op before, and they said 35+ (or maybe 45) mph at the top of the tower. Which at that height, isn't that uncommon. Most of the "larger" attractions IE: TTD, Raptor, Windseeker and MF will shut down when winds at the top of the ride hit 25 mph. I believe Sky Ride shuts down in 20 mph winds.
  9. For me it is Silver Dollar City. Having been to amusement parks all across the country, including all WDW parks, and all Florida parks. SDC wins for me because it has amazing theming, amazing attractions, great food, and very small crowds (Compared to larger parks like Disney and Universal.) They have great event's through out the year, and they have an amazing "Christmas In The Park." Every last one of the Employees are amazing, upbeat, fun, fast, and they really seem to care about the guest! The theming is almost as good as, if not just as good as something you expect to find at a Disney park. When you walk through the gates you really feel as if you have stepped back in time. The food is amazing, I do not think I have ever had theme park food that is as good as the food I have had at SDC. They have a great selection of rides! A really smooth, fun B&M coaster, and fun launched coasters (With a launch that packs a nice punch,) A fun S&S Screamin’ Swing, some decent "dark" rides like the "Flooded Mine Shoot Out, and Fire In The Hole" and let's not forget Outlaw Run!!! One of the best wooden coasters any where. Combined all of this with the crowds you find at a smaller theme park and it is an overall great experience.
  10. I think everyone wishes they could have found a way to keep the heartline roll it looked amazing!!!
  11. Are you the new Dip-n-Dots guy? @Prozach626 Seriously, you do know that no one here is going to believe that without some actual evidence right? That's the same as me saying, "OMG, I was at the McDonalds by Cedar Point, and I heard them saying that they were building a 500ft Aqua Trax. So that's obviously what they are getting next year."
  12. Maybe there is a random farmer some where who knows about a local carnival that comes to town each year, and his coaster is the life of the party!!! (Cool find, and I will not B!tch about you possibly, but most likely not "trespassing." Thanks for the photos!!!)
  13. Arkansas - X Coaster California - I'll let you know when I get out there. But I bet it will be TC!! Florida - Revenge Of The Mummy, Universal Studios. Georgia - Goliath. Missouri - Outlaw Run. Nevada - Well, since X-Scream does not count as a coaster I will go with Speed The Ride. New Jersey - El Toro. New York - I can't say for sure yet, but I will be on Thunderbolt in 20 days, and I bet it will be the number one for me! Ohio - Top Thrill Dragster. Oklahoma - Silver Bullet. Pennsylvania - Storm Runner. Texas - New Texas Giant. Virginia - Big Dipper
  14. ^ ^ It just seems to "perfect" to be random. I could understand if it were just a small little silhouette of a random coaster in a skyline (like SFGAdv, because apparently a "Vekoma SLC Boomerang" is now a thing) on a random spot of the shirt. But this is clearly placed to be the "focal point" or center of the shirt. Maybe I'm just looking to far into this, and/or maybe just wishful thinking but foreshadowing??? And yes, I am aware that planning and design is a different department than the "people who make shirts," but that doesn't mean they couldn't have discussed the idea of placing the next Cedar Point roller coasterr on a shirt to get people (AKA: Coaster Enthusiasts and the General Public.) confused and excited. Also, Cedar Point already has so many unique coasters that are clearly icons in the amusement park industry. . . So why would they just pick a random photo of a random coaster instead of showing off one of the amazing coasters they already have??
  15. I don't think you're looking to far into it. I mean, maybe they are dropping hints to us. If Cedar Point does NOT end up getting a dive machine for 2016 I'm going to be incredibly shocked.
  16. Maybe the partial loading of trains is just something Cedar Point has adopted over the years to try and cut down on roll backs at the start of the day. Top Thrill Dragster has a "Launch Boost" button, however I have rarely seen it used, and it is only used when the trains are empty during early morning test runs, or during empty test runs after a break down. (At least this is how it use to be done, it may have changed over the years.) I wonder if Kingda Ka's programming is a little different because of the brake at the top of the tower? Does the brake prevent Kingda Ka from getting over speeds??? If so maybe this explains why each ride is loaded, and ran a little differently?
  17. I don't see how you can do it! I feel sick just watching those things run. Oh my, glad it was nothing major, and you all escaped unharmed! I love that the ride was back up and running without testing the ride first. Gotta love carnivals. Fun little trip report! Thanks for sharing!
  18. they open it with just the front rows and progressively move back to full trains once it's warmed up. It reduces the chance of a rollback if all the weight is at the front. If Dragster's PLC is anything like Xcelerator's, it takes the average weight of every 5 launches to determine how much power is needed to get the train up to the 79.5mph that is required for a train to clear the top hat. I remember back when I worked Xcelerator a short shot was guaranteed if you completely filled a train early in the morning. Same was to be said at the end of the day. We had to slowly close off 1 row at a time for the last 10 trains or so of the day to prevent a "Catch car overtravel" fault when you sent the 1st empty train to bring the last train of guests back into the station. Top Thrill Dragsters computer uses the speed that the previous train crest the tower to determine the speed needed to launch the next train to get it to clear at a similar speed. That's why in the morning the progressively load the trains to keep the weight variance small enough that it doesn't cause a roll back, or over speed.
  19. Grated, they did something about it by paving it, and turning it into a parking lot. I wish Cedar Point would get the RMC treatment for Mean Streak.
  20. 8/10 Hot, fresh, perfectly salted Mc Donald's French Fries!
  21. Y: Yankee Cannonball at Canobie Lake Park.
  22. Oh, I'll add i305 to my list!! Looks like such an awesome coaster!! Can't wait to ride it some day!
  23. Okay, so I have to admit that I slightly miss Disaster Transport. Yes, it was old, yes the building it was in was falling apart, yes what replaced it is 100% better.... But Disaster Transport had something unique about it. It was a fun little ride, and kids loved it!
