Sounds interesting, but I have no idea what it looks like. For some reason none of the photos are showing up. They are all just coming up as black boxes. I tried refreshing the page, closing the page, reopening the page... nothing worked. Not sure whats going on. I do wish I could see this though. This is all I am seeing.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Well I read the original post wrong. I thought you meant lowering the height of the main drop, not the structure after the drop. It makes more sense to me now. -

This coaster is just more and more impressive with every photo. I can not wait to see the final product. -
No bashing from me! This is what theme parks are all about. Building different types, and styles of coasters so that there will be something for everyone! Goliath is by no means a "bad" coaster. It just could have been so much better in my eyes! I agree with you that it is tall, fast, and smooth! It's still in the top 20 tallest roller coasters in the world, and it's plenty fast! I think we just get spoiled by more intense coasters that even on a good coaster we are left thinking of how it could be better.

Yeah, but if you take away some length and height after the first drop...you get more airrtime and a more intense ride overall. If the ride is too long, then it'll will start to meander due to loss of momentum. I have never heard of an RMC coaster meandering due to loss of momentum. Texas Giant was pretty similar to Mean Streak before its makeover, and it doesn't meander through the course due to loss of momentum now. You get plenty of airtime, and the ride is over all pretty intense. -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
DoinItForTheFame replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Before I get started, I apologize if this has already been discussed, I did a search but all I came up with was Strongest/Most Forceful LIM Launch, and Favorite Intamin Accelerator. However, those are both really old threads, and didn't really discuss launched coasters in general. They discussed two specific type of launched coasters, and I was wanting something a little more broad. With all of that being said, I created this thread in hopes of us being able to not only post our favorite launched coasters, but also be able to discuss all things launched coaster related! To me there is just something about the anticipation sitting on the launch track waiting for the train to launch that makes launched coasters so much more thrilling to me than traditional coasters. My all time favorite launched coaster is Top Thrill Dragster. The anticipation of the launch, and the 420ft climb up the tower is amazing. The speed, and force of the launch is breathtaking, and something that I have never experienced on any other coaster. Some of my other favorite launched coasters are Maverick, and Revenge Of The Mummy at USO. What are your favorites?! -

What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
DoinItForTheFame replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, since it has been a while since I posted my top ten coasters (And I am only doing 10, not 20 because it is your top 10 coasters... not your top 20 coasters, or top 10 of each type)... Here it goes: 1.) Top Thrill Dragster!! - This has been my favorite coaster for years, and it will stay that way for many more years. It's going to be hard for anything to ever beat Top Thrill Dragster! 2.) Maverick 3.) Outlaw Run 4.) El Toro 5.) New Texas Giant 6.) Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast 7.) Incredible Hulk 8.) Cyclone (Luna Park/Coney Island) 9.) Expedition Everest 10.) Wicked Twister -

So I was looking at the Fantawild Construction thread, and I saw something that would be amazing for Cedar Point! Time To Dream: As much as we would all love for Cedar Point to give Mean Streak the RMC treatment (And we all pretty much know that it will eventually happen anyway.) I would LOVE to see Cedar Point build a bigger better version of That way Cedar Point could get rid of the awful Mean Streak, and still have a REAL wooden coaster, and something amazing!! Well... we can dream right?! -
Fantawild Construction
DoinItForTheFame replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks like an awesome coaster. It also has a pretty decent ride time compared to some of the coasters that have been coming out lately! Now if only Cedar Point could get rid of Mean Streak, and put in a clone of this ride!!! -

2016: Slide Complex! Just a guess. I have no evidence to back this up. I agree with you on this one. I have worked at several theme parks, and at all of the parks no one knew about what was coming the next year till about when the addition was publicly announced. So basically the employees at SFFT who were saying there is a new coaster coming next year were just guessing, and wanted to look like they knew what was going on, when in all reality they have no idea. Sure there might be a new coaster coming next year, but they only people who know this are the ones behind desk, working 9-5 in the offices, who are part of the planning, and development teams. Not a ride host.

TOP 5 B&M INVERTED COASTERS
DoinItForTheFame replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Having been on a LOT of B&M inverts... It's actually really hard to rank them. But I'll try! 1.) Montu. 2.) Dueling Dragons - Fire (Sorry. It will always be Dueling Dragons to me.) 3.) Batman The Ride (SFOT) 4.) Dueling Dragons - Ice 5.) Raptor However, we get to ride Banshee soon, so I bet this list changes some! -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
DoinItForTheFame replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It may have been designed to come to a full stop on the mid-course if needed, and still be able to finish the circuit... But Mantis itself had valleyed before as well. Not with people on it, only during morning test runs... However, it still happened. -
^ I love that bottle!! We just got back from liquor shopping for the weekend, and I was looking for that bottle, and couldn't find it any where. I saw a bottle on display in NYC, and I have yet to see it any where else. Not only do I love the bottle. I love the message on the front of it! Thanks for sharing the pictures of it!
