DoinItForTheFame replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, as we are starting to finalize our plans for our 2016 park visit the parks that we are for sure visiting are: Busch Gardens Williamsburg Kings Dominion Kings Island Cedar Point Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags Fiesta Texas Dollywood Six Flags Over Georgia Silver Dollar City I'm really excited about this year's line up. I've never been to Dollywood, Kings Dominion, or Busch Gardens Williamsburg, so I'm thrilled to finally have the chance to go!! -
[NL2] The Green Arrow

Okay, not going to lie. . . I don't "love" this coaster. 1.) The "out of station twist" looks really awkward. It looks like there would be some really uncomfortable lateral g's during it. 2.) I was not a fan of the huge, slightly banked, drawn out turn. It almost seems like it would have been a bit better if it were a low to the ground high g turn. 3.) The MCBR Seems like it should have been about 15-20ft taller. The height it is at now, and the amount that it slows the train down really kills the pacing of the ride. NOW, with all of that being said, the track work was really good. For the most part it was a really smooth coaster. Aside from the things I mentioned above it is a decent coaster, and you did a good job. Thanks for sharing. -
I'd rather have a 1,500ft tall Intamin Aqua Trax over an RMC coaster any day. But hey, we don't always get what we want. . . You know. . . Sometimes the parks know what they are doing and *if* SFMM is getting a B&M Dive Machine, I wouldn't be disappointed. B&M Dive Machines are good coasters, and it least it would provide the park with something reliable, and not gimmicky.

DC to BGW, and KD?!
DoinItForTheFame replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lol the funny thing is that the one I found for $88 bucks is actually located at the airport (or they're pretending they are and they have a shuttle but either way it's not a big difference). Your advice might allow him to find something even cheaper. I seriously have no idea where he got that price. Sure my price is for an economy car but if you were willing to take a taxi to Williamsburg I'm sure you're not going to be against an economy car. I've looked for neighborhood rental locations, and I didn't find anything for any less than airport location. I have found a compact car for $69. Picking it up when I land, and turning it in the day after I visit the two parks. (Granted I will still be in the area after I return the car) But if I keep the car the entire time I am there the rental goes up to $309, and I don't mind not having the car for the extra two days after the parks. Now that I have found a rental car, and I know how I am going to get to the two parks. . . Which park would be best to visit on which day (crowd wise?) Would it be better to visit the BGW on Friday, and KD on Saturday, or would it be better to visit KD on Friday, and BGW on Saturday?? -

I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering if they might actually be synchronized to the midway music. It would be an awesome touch from the park, and not that hard, or expensive to do! The only thing that makes me think they might NOT be synchronized to music is the fact that the lights keep repeating the same like 5 second program. If they were synchronized to music I think we would be seeing a lot more different "show." -

A great example of why Pinks should be one of the places you visit when you are in Vegas! -

Wow, I feel like I am the only person who over looked the track being connected straight to the footers there! Welp, we learn something new every day! -

I think those are actually 4 separate pieces that have already been connected together in pairs to make lifting them in place easier. If you look closely you can see what appears to be the sections where they are connected together. -

You're only going to be in Vegas for one day?! It's Vegas, there are tons of good places to eat at. I think it all depends on what you like. Personally I always make a point to eat at Pinks Hot Dogs. They are really good! As said above.... Pinks Hot Dogs. -------------------- As for things to do: - If you are interested, and want to spend the money, I always highly suggest Skyjump Las Vegas! It's an amazing experience! Also, the rides at the top of the Stratosphere are unique, and a "must do" for any thrill lover. - There is the new High Roller observation wheel if you want to try that out. - Don't waste your money on Manhattan Express, or Roller Coaster, or whatever it is called now days. - Make a point to stop and watch the Bellagio Fountain show. It is amazing! Also, speaking of the Bellagio, Cirque Du Soleil O at the Bellagio is an AMAZING show. Worth the money. - If you are a Celine Dion fan, you could always get tickets to see her show at Caesars palace. I've never personally seen the show, but I have heard that it is amazing! - Don't forget to go down and watch the Freemont Street Experience. It is awesome, and the Golden Nugget is a fun place to spend a little while gambling. You could also try out "SLOTZILLA" and Zip-line between the canopy and the streets of the Freemont Street Experience. - There is also the Voodoo Zipline at the Rio if you wanted to try that out. It looks a little more "thrilling" than Slotzilla. This is about all the advice I have for now! Enjoy your trip!! -

Agreed. The first time I watched this it appeared slow because I was watching the whole train go through the course. The second time I watched it, I focused on the backrow people and they just flew through the whole course with the train pulling them over the humps, it looks a lot faster when you focus on one row of the train. This coaster looks just amazing! Guess I need to re-watch the video, and focus more on the back row rather than the entire train. -

Rollercoaster doubts
DoinItForTheFame replied to Henry M's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
YES!!! Yes it isnt!! So does that mean Outlaw Runs is a steel coaster?? -
If it were me I would take the "KD/BGW" option. Maybe it is because I have never been to either of these parks, and I am dying to go (Just booked my flight tonight to be able to visit both these parks.) But having been to almost all of the other parks on your list, KD and BGW would be the two that would appeal to me the most. Then again, not everyone is the same! I can't wait to see which route you choose, and of course, I will be looking forward to a photo TR!
