Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

I was also disappointed to hear that. I am not a Johnny Rockets fan, though, so that certainly enters into the equation. -

After watching that video, I have a reason to return to Las Vegas. -
TPR New Front Page In Development!
arby replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think it has a clean modern look to it. It is colorful, as it always has been, yet it feels like a 21st century website. I did notice a slight bug but that was previously mentioned as a known issue in this thread. -
For some fun, do a traceroute to 216.81.59.173

I don't blame you a bit. We usually prefer campgrounds not run by parks as they are often better. -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
arby replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't have minded seeing a bear while I was there. Maybe it would have kept our neighbors from being up all night partying... My biggest issue with both KD and Carowinds campgrounds is that they charge a premium price for their sites without any premium features. We paid a big premium at the Cedar Point campground but what we got there for our premium price was: a paved, level, and well maintained site with cable TV as well as the same resort privileges as someone staying at one of the onsite hotels including early entry to the park. They also have a resort gate that is within easy walking distance of our camp site. I'll pay more for a paved, level site with cable TV. I do understand that the resort gate/issue is something much bigger that won't be fixed anytime soon, if ever. -

That link didn't have a lot of information on what the campsite upgrades are, but I'm real curious to find out what they are. We weren't overly impressed the last time we stayed there. -

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
arby replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
It was 17 this morning but is supposed to be in the mid 50s tomorrow and in the mid 60s by Sunday. -
I know nothing about NoLimits but I know a little bit about scripting so I thought I'd jump in. Change these two lines: int parentID = sim.getParentEntityId(); sco = sim.getSceneObjectForEntityId(parentID); to: #int parentID = sim.getParentEntityId(); sco = sim.getSceneObjectForEntityId(getParentEntityId()); If that works you can remove the line that is commented out, #int parentID=... The error indicates that getParentEntityId() is not a valid method for sim. I got the second line from some info I found through a quick Google search so I hope it helps.

I love seeing the updates! Keep it up. I'm not sure that I have the patience to build something this detailed. -

What type of enthusiast are you?
arby replied to arby's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think that is weird, or I am weird right along with you because that almost describes me perfectly. On our recent cross country trip, I should have picked up over 40 credits but I only got 27. In years past I would have been frustrated. This time I was like, 'oh well, let's just have fun.' Now my theme park enthusiast and coaster enthusiast perspective is to just have fun. Wow! I wish I had started this as a discussion thread instead of actually popping the question. I never thought of that but I'm there with you. Without all the sounds the experience would not be the same. -
What's New for 2014? Rides and Attractions
arby replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, thank you for putting this list together, Larry. One thing I noticed is that Family Kingdom's website is incorrect. I know at least Twist 'n Shout Coaster and Kite Flyer were new for 2013. We rode them both last summer. It really doesn't matter but I thought I'd mention that. -
Yep, hopefully for both of us.

Yes, it's Outer Hanks Fresh Seafood and Grill although one time I had the fish there it tasted like it was frozen. That was some years ago, though, and I don't know that they claimed it was fresh back then. -
I've been having the same issue for the past hour or so.

B&M vs Intamin
arby replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had a slight favor towards B&M. However, I recently received a BoC that had an Intamin pen in it. Who'd have thought that would be one of my favorite things in the whole bag. That pen pushed my vote in favor of Intamin. -
Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
arby replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Don't worry. Where I live, we were suppose to have just a dusting, but we ended up with 2 inches. It took about 2 hours to go 5 miles including a 30 minute walk after we abandoned my truck. Yeah, you all have the same scenario that we do and you never know what to believe when they call for snow. I'm glad you made it home safely after all that and hope you can get your truck back soon. -
Wow, you're quick! I just logged back in to mention that and you beat me to it.
