Europa Park Discussion Thread
cookiex replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When was it ever indicated EP was getting another B&M? We've known that Project V was a flying theater for a long time. And not having built a big coaster in, gasp, four years means they've given up on it completely? Give me a break. I don't EP even needs another coaster anyway, what it could use is a good flat. -

I'm glad I got to ride Wildfire when I did hearing these reports. I find it highly unlikely they'll remove it but the legal troubles could maybe affect operations going forward. -

I doubt we'll see Big Dipper trains since the brake run only seems to have catwalks to the right while Lost Gravity has catwalks on both sides. -

^ Wonder if we'll be seeing more of these since it seems to have been pretty successful at Walibi. The layout looks ripe for cloning. -

Favorite and least favorite amusement park
cookiex replied to storms555's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My top three parks would be: Europa Park Liseberg Disney's Animal Kingdom Honorable mentions go to Hansa Park, Epcot, Tivoli Gardens and SeaWorld Orlando. Worst park would be Cosmo's World (or Berjaya Times Square Theme Park as it's now called). Only spent two hours and three rides there and didn't feel like I missed anything. -

I'd argue Battlestar Galactica at Universal Singapore is a great example of what Vekoma can accomplish. Granted I rode it before they closed it for two years and changed the trains so I don't know how it performs now. -
Take one look at Pirates in Shanghai and then tell me they don't still got it. Or Cars Land, or New Fantasyland. All three you mentioned were decades apart. I wouldn't call Frozen a cheap overlay, especially since it resurrected a ride few people gave a crap about before. And Soarin's refurbishment was long overdue. Disney's using their Captain EO theaters across the parks for a wide variety of things. Not to mention the show has served its purpose. It was meant to tribute Micheal Jackson and has been playing long enough. Now that is hyperbole at a cartoonish level. And Disney fanatics wonder why they're not taken seriously.

Kolmården can do better than a Liseberg hand-me-down. The park has some amazing terrain to work with and it really shows with Wildfire. -

I'd be hesitant to call EP's seat-assignment the perfect solution though. It probably works best when the non VR-lines are longer, but when Pegasus was a walk-on otherwise the VR line had the longest wait by far in the park (45 minutes plus when nothing else exceeded 25). Alpenexpress across the park seemed to work much better though, so maybe it's all about the right balance. -

It fits much better in a smaller park than Liseberg anyway. Didn't Bakken try to get permits for an Intamin accelerator a few years ago? Now might be the time to try again.
