  1. I was hoping that she'd pull through, but this is just horrible. I wonder how they're going to handle it either in this upcoming Star Wars, or the next.
  2. I'm happy for them, honestly. But teams go up, and they go down. They have some big moves to make before this deadline if they expect to be major contenders in the playoffs. They're also gonna get hit hard in the expansion draft if they don't move some parts.
  3. ^ So does this mean if Premier were to ever leave as the management company, they could take any attractions that they built with them?
  4. It's right about after that time period that I noticed the decline in service. I'll list some of the larger things that made the day less enjoyable: 1) New loading policy on Silver Comet: I believe after Darien Lake's accident in 2011, this new setup was installed in hopes of "better safety". They stopped allowing seat choice and replaced it with assigned seating. The worst part was the actual loading procedure. They start from the front of the train and check individual seat belts. Then they unlock the lap bars and a very loud employee will yell "Arms up! Do not touch the lap bars, we will put them down for you!" They then go by gently placing the lap bars down on you, usually 2-3 clicks too loose. If anyone touches a lap bar themselves, the process starts over. Safety is fine, but this isn't really safer, and makes the loading process sometimes over 5 minutes long on a single train ride. 2) General change in employees' attitudes: They are less enthusiastic and pleasant to deal with. A lot of them seem they should be at the local fair instead. Barely any of them crack a smile, and sometimes are rude if you try saying something to them. 3) Ride seating policies: No single riders allowed on Flight, Cannon Bowl, Antique Cars, won't dispatch Crazy Mouse unless you have 3 passengers. It forces a lot of pairing up with strangers if you have an odd number in your group. 4) Change in admissions to include wristbands, which leads to longer lines, and bag checks take a while. 5) Removal of many fan favorite rides over the years It's not like the park has reached Six Flags guest relation levels over the years, but it definitely has gone downhill. As I've mentioned before, I stopped visiting a few years ago, and the park is pretty close to me, because a lot of these little annoyances add up over the day. For instance, I used to be able to marathon Silver Comet in any seat, but now I'm always forced somewhere, and it takes a good 5 minutes to load minimum. Hopefully with new management means refreshing of the general policies and ironing out a lot of these bugs.
  5. I think they should wait until their anniversary year in 2020 and make it 500 feet tall I really just can't wait until they officially announce this thing. I wasn't planning on a Cedar Point trip this year, but if this were to open, it would push me into going back and cancelling other plans.
  6. Titan is probably going to the scrap yard. It's just too hard to move those old Arrow coasters that are welded together, especially of that magnitude. Wouldn't be surprised if Blackpool Pleasure Beach and/or Cedar Point (unlikely) are interested in the S&S trains. I saw Zaturn up for sale somewhere for a while now, and Venus may be relocated as well. Hopefully those two can be saved. With Kaonen (spelling?) on the market as well, I wonder where these accelerator coasters will go.
  7. Actually, I believe that the Boomerang is salvageable, but there is a park nearby that already has one, so they are removing it for that reason. Not that they should spend money on rehabbing a crappy Vekoma anyways (cough Kentucky Kingdom cough) Edit: Wait a second, they are still rehabbing a crappy Vekoma in Jester.
  8. Odds are that this isn't it. They've been adding little upgrades to the campground every year.
  9. Somehow I overlooked it. My bad. I never knew they offered this. Is it relatively new, or has this been around for a while? I haven't been to Seabreeze since the Music Express was new. But I always got my tickets from a relative who got then discounted through work so I never needed to buy at the gate.
  10. Are we taking about the same kind of tickets? I assumed you were talking about individual ride tickets, like Knoebels has, because you said a ride operator did not accept them. Seabreeze only sells pay one price admission, so if that's what you're talking about, why would you need to show a ride op the ticket?
  11. ^Seabreeze doesn't have ride tickets. You must be thinking of another park. And Boomerang and Viper won't be getting new trains. Boomerang's still is in good shape, and Viper's just got totally rehabbed. I think that Mind Eraser should get its paint job finished before any other refurb work is started.
  12. I know that some of the Tim Hortons are co-branded with Cold Stone Creamery, which some of the SF parks have. It would be nice if Six Flags would install some of those. Darien Lake even offers the same prices as the regular shops.
  13. ^No. When someone hears something, they will post it.
  14. Darien Lake isn't that hard to rank: 1. Ride of Steel 2. Predator 3. Viper 4. Motocoaster 5. Boomerang 6. Mind Eraser
  15. That makes sense. Another thing that I noticed is that the ferris wheel is still listed under their attractions. So unless they get a buyer, the ride may be staying another year or Apex has changed their mind about removing it.
  16. Did they really just name the water park after one of DL's largest water slides? I never really had a problem with the previous name "Water World" It seems as though the shootout will be staying from the video on the website
  17. People just aren't that efficient. Me and three of my friends went for just one day earlier this season, and we all chipped in 5 bucks for the souvenir cup. You'll spend almost 5 dollars on a single drink, and this ensured that we would not be thirsty all day long. Even for one visit, it literally pays for itself. A 7 dollar increase would make me think about it twice for just one day, but some people are visiting 5+ times a year, so they shouldn't be crying about value by any means.
  18. Well, there you go again... I find it strange that it's the fifth or sixth time that you suggested this without any proof at all that this is remotely possible. We've already seen confirmation from the park that it's business as usual, and they will continue to sell 2017 season passes, as they have been for months already. EPR didn't just purchase all of these properties for all that money to just close them down. Geauga Lake was closed for a very specific set of circumstances. Darien Lake remains to be a very strong asset, and probably the largest one out of the whole bundle.
  19. The water parks at the properties likely played a big role in the sale. Considering this is another investment firm, Premier will likely stay as operators, but it's good to know that a company with experience in the industry has purchased the park. Elitch Gardens was just picked up last year, and is still run by Premier. As I've said before, I would rather see a sole ownership/management so there is no controversy between investments, but this seems like a good scenario on paper, at least better than CNL. I'm not so sure that we see investment this season, but it's still early, and I think that Premier will push for something to be added. It might be a fill-in ride, or something lower cost like a Star Flyer. The water park probably won't see an addition after 2 years of investment.
  20. So I guess that article that floated around a while back stating that DL would be sold this year was right. However, this is sort of a red flag because it seems as though this is just another investment company, and the joint management will continue. While the Schlitterbahn parks all seem to do well and are highly rated among most polls, water attractions are typically a lot cheaper than coasters/flats/etc. While I do think that this company will be better off than CNL based on the quality of their current properties, the question is will they be willing to invest, or keep the current trend going? I was sort of hoping that Premier would make an offer, but CNL likely wanted to sell off as a package deal.
  21. That's odd. I've been a pass holder since I was young, and visited the park probably over 10 times this year, and received no survey. Are you a pass holder or just enrolled in any park email subscription? I know that my answers probably won't mean much to the park, but seeing that I am such a frequent visitor to the park, I would like to point some things out that I've noticed this year.
  22. Great to see that some of the sims have returned, especially Matterhorn. I do wish that they were able to crank out some higher quality sims like that before folding. After playing a while I get a message saying "Engineers have requested Bobsled 4 go to the maintenance track". I can't seem to find which one that is and what Bobsled is that numbe . Anyone know how to take care of that?
  23. Well they can't really deny that their patented track and company trucks are on-site in plain visibility. Now all we need is for the Sandusky Register to leak the layout.
  24. I think that starting a petition to "save" the ride is going too far here. Kolmarden wouldn't have spent so much money on this coaster if they thought there was ever a chance of it getting demolished. Governments are very picky about having all documents and paperwork completed correctly no matter the person or company involved. I've seen zoning boards and local governments get picky over where a person builds a deck on the back of their house. I feel as though the governement will not make Kolmarden tear the ride down unless there is substantial proof that the coaster is harming the environment. As long as Kolmarden can get the accreditation that they need, the ride will be fine. It's a scary situation, but I can not think of a time where a roller coaster was demolished for environmental issues. Usually this stuff is all ironed out before, or it would not be approved in the first place.
  25. ^Definitely. Premier started out with the Boomerangs and SLCs. Six Flags is still using that model because technically Premier bought the chain.
