  1. Like the ride or not, it is pretty much a joke that Skyrush didn't crack the top 50. If rides like I305 and Maverick can make the top 25 with their "re-ride ability and technical issues", Skyrush falls into that exact same class. For many people, the ride is their number one or at least in their top 5. I feel like the vast majority of voters for GTA are ACErs who just can't handle the more intense rides and love the themed family coasters to death. Of course I'm biased, because I do love the ride, but seeing this poll every year makes me miss the Mitch poll more and more. Congrats to Fury 325, it's good to see MF finally knocked off that top peg.
  2. Beaver Bros is okay. Not much on the menu is appealing to me, and combined with price and tips I usually steer clear of there. Last time I was in there was probably two years ago, and I got the beef on weck special. It said that it came with "chips", which I assumed was a fancy word for fries. But I was wrong, as the plate actually arrived with potato chips. It wasn't all that appetizing, and I could give a different meal a shot, but I find that I am just as happy with any combo meal at a food stand. I don't think that Maria's has ever been remodeled, and quite honestly I don't think it gets too much business. I haven't even been in there in ages, so I don't remember how the meal was. Pasta is a little too heavy for me especially knowing that I am going on rides afterwards. I don't know if they serve Pizza, but I had a personal pan pizza last year from the boardwalk which was surprisingly good. If the park is still ever going to consider the smokehouse concept, it would be a winner for me. I'm a big fan of steak, ribs, etc and I would pay a little more for it. As long as it is quality food, of course.
  3. I honestly don't mind the food, that's why I think it would be worth it for me to do the plan. It's actually improved over the past few years. The only gripe that I have is that they removed the seasoned curly fries at the stands. They were better than generic French fries. I haven't stepped foot in Maria's in years, same with Beaver Bros. I've had most of the options that are listed on the website. The chicken fingers, personal pizzas, and Italian sausage are good. I've also heard good things about the tacos and wraps.
  4. I would have to agree with that. Of course you get the view, and a slightly smoother ride in the front for those who can't handle a slight rattle. But nothing beats the whip you get over the first drop in the back. Same goes for Viper and Predator. All have solid first hills.
  5. Yeah, I didn't see them shutting down the entire operation just one year coming off adding the water park. It's not like they could just relocate the wave pool or lazy river to another property, like they did with the coasters. Ten years was enough for them to get their investment back on those items, and the slides will be moved elsewhere. Done deal. At least now the property can be redeveloped and local fans of the park can have some closure.
  6. It would have been nice for a reason as to why they are shutting down. Not just a "This is the way it has to be. The developer would be affected." I would be much more understanding if they gave an actual legit explanation. It's pretty selfish just to close down and take the sims away from everyone. It would be like Robb just one day saying "Alright guys, I'm shutting down TPR tomorrow. Get your last posts in."
  7. Has anyone here ever done the meal plan with the season pass? I'm debating getting it next year if it seems feasible enough. How much does it cost, and do you think it's worth it for someone who visits approximately 10 times or more a year?
  8. Many parks do things like that unannounced. Raptor got paint and new lights this season. Ride of Steel at Darien Lake got a new train. These things weren't made into big headlines, it's just average maintenance and upkeep. Not that I am upset with what they did, it's awesome that they finally gave the coaster attention. But I wouldn't call it an addition as much as I would call it a rehab project.
  9. Lol, I need someone to restrain me before I start throwing money at whoever is selling that. I don't even care about the Geauga Lake part. I just would love to own an Arrow car.
  10. Well, technically they did last season with the only addition being VR on Revolution. But two years in a row would be highly unlikely.
  11. I believe that there is going to be at least one RMC coaster coming out for next season. There were apparently photos on their Instagram of them CNC cutting parts for trains. They do not produce the cars for the S&S Free Spins, so that rules those out. I'm expecting either a smaller park to come out of nowhere with an addition (such as Silverwood), or RMC Mean Streak still being in the works. Considering how small the expansion for Cedar Point will be, it's still very plausible that they can do both projects at once.
  12. Not a big Poison fan, but I've been surprised by a few concerts at DL. I went to an Alice Cooper concert a couple of years ago, and he really turned me into a big fan of his. He really rocked the house, and this was with me going in as not a big fan. I went for the Motley Crue show.
  13. Like i said before.... Get these additions, the Free Spins, and Larson Loops done with now, so we can see something bigger and better later. Now all the flagship parks will have Justice League or a 4D coaster as of next season.
  14. Just coming off a thrill ride, I'm expecting something more for families. Probably is going to be a Zamperla Disko, similar to SFSTL's. Could also be the possibility of Comet backwards. Crystal Beach did it for many years, don't see why TGE couldn't attempt it.
  15. Traditionally Labor Day weekend is the final weekend for all water rides on either side of the park. I would assume that it would be open, but don't take that as a definite answer. It all depends how many operators they can get working. They actually updated their webpage for once with this: It seems like there's a pretty good shot of it being open for a little while. Kind of mad that as I am typing this I'm missing the Def Leppard concert at the park. I forgot to check for tickets earlier. Hopefully they return again soon.
  16. I believe that Silver Bullet is legitimately closed. It's been having some issues for a while, and I would rather see the ride go down now for rehab than try to strain it for the rest of the season and risk damaging it. It only requires one person to run, so staffing wouldn't be a make or break thing. It's only sensible that the water rides are closed. It's near the end of the year, plus Splashtown fills that void for the few hot days that remain. Thunder Rapids needs 5-6 operators (2 on lifts, one on main panel, and 2-3 for loading or unloading). Grizzly Run requires the same (one grouper, one main panel, one unloading, one on lift, two for water effects).
  17. All the clues are world's firsts. First vertical loop, first invert, first 4D and 4D Free Spin, first mine train. My bet is still on a Mack Power Splash. Despite there already is one at Walibi Belgium, this would still be a first for North America, and maybe will have a unique element to it. At this point, I'm really expecting any larger scale coaster or water ride.
  18. I was definitely expecting one of the Tornado slides to make their way over, but this is a great addition for now. Drop pod slides are something that I'm totally fine with being a carbon copy. Every water park should look into investing in them. And Soaring Timbers looks absolutely crazy. I think I may visit next year just to get on it. Can't wait to see everyone complain about the name. It's just good to see Wonderland investing in unique rides that compliment their lineup, not just bulk buys like Larson Loops.
  19. These rides have actually impressed me a bit. I went in expecting a typical carny ride, but they are actually quite good. I would love to see a "mega" model of some sort, but what parks would actually add one now? Many of the SF parks (including some larger ones) have already received one, and I cannot see Cedar Fair/Herschend parks getting one.
  20. ^All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up. So many people see this junk and think that the park is getting a 30 million dollar B&M right away. Every year they report a new coaster, it doesn't come true, and they push it back a year. I really don't care when the park is getting a new coaster. BGW and KD is always an awesome trip and I enjoy both parks.
  21. Seems like shots in the dark to me... At one point, Screamscape was getting better with the rumors, but now it just seems to be all guessing and pipe dreams. Not that they were a "credible" source anyways, but this could be part of the reason why fanboys keep getting their hopes up. They think that Screamscape is the be-all and end-all of park information.
  22. How high is the quarry wall? I'm still banking on a Power Splash. If it is around 150 feet tall, that's the height of the model, and they could probably just build one of the spikes right off of it.
  23. Screamscape has been predicting a big coaster for the park since 2015. They have been wrong now for three seasons in a row (2015,2016,2017). All they did was push it back a year, and put a new gimmick on it. Don't get too excited. Enjoy your EA dark ride in 2018.
  24. Wonderland may be getting one of the EA dark rides next year, I highly doubt we see MiA get one in the near future. I'd hate to see the park get nothing again. Even something small like what Kings Dominion is getting would be something worthwhile for this park.
