  1. There's actually a planning board meeting this Thursday. Last year, after the planning board meeting in February, most local news stations found out the plans and broadcasted them before the park announced them. So there's a good chance that we'll find out within the next month, or it could even be this week.
  2. Not sure how feasible or efficient it would be for a theme park attraction? But based on all of the clues about mind and psychology, could this be an attraction like those "escape rooms" where you need to put together clues to escape? Just a thought considering it's supposed to be a world's first. But Merlin could market a lot as a world's first.
  3. As much as I'm not a fan of flying coasters, it would probably take away from lines of rides that I like more. I think I would rather see CP go back to Intamin or try RMC for their next coaster.
  4. Rides with a lot of speed are usually better at night. Beast and Millennium Force are great examples. I think that I actually like both more at night than during the day.
  5. With people wearing heavier bulky clothing, it could be weighing the trains down more too. I bet it's a combination of things causing the train to go faster. It could just be like an illusion too with the cold air whipping in peoples' faces. Wish I could get down there. Sounds like the event is going well.
  6. I wouldn't read too much into that. Mind Eraser and Motocoaster would really be the only two rides that have not had big refurbishments and I can't see them getting new trains. Predator has fairly new trains, Vipers have been refurbished, and RoS as we know is getting new trains.
  7. For a park of its size, Hershey seems to have poor operations. Not exactly horrible, but most ops seem unhappy to be working and slowly mope around. It's really a problem on Skyrush when you're left sitting on the brake run. Six Flags in general isn't pretty good however. Only a couple out of the handful of parks or so I have visited have had good operations.
  8. The newer Cedar Fair logos have turned out really well. Banshee is my favorite, but Leviathan, Rougarou, and Valravn are also good.
  9. Yeah I see it now, thanks for the correction. Even if there was a vertical support, they probably would have placed it there before anything else, so I would still guess that they eliminated it to save steel.
  10. Thanks for the update. I'm starting to think that Premier will end up being a great operator for the park. Their ambition and passion to do everything in their power to make the park better has really shown. Herschend did a great job with the park as well, but Premier has kind of one upped them with the new attractions and return of two train ops. Herschend did begin to pull out after they knew that their contract was not going to be renewed. Happy New Year to you Doug, and thank you for the hard work you've been putting into social media!
  11. According to the construction progress diagram, the shaded support that I circled has not been added yet, and that looks to be a vertical support holding up the pullout: Griffon has one like this too, again circled in red: Maybe B&M saw the extra support as overkill and decided to eliminate it from the final design. With the large prices of coasters nowadays, the less steel needed, the better. We've seen companies like Intamin and B&M cutting down in supports where they're not always needed for this reason. If it isn't added soon though, I wouldn't expect it to be added at all, as they're about ready to move onto the next section. Judging from the looks of it, they probably eliminated the support for two reasons. One, they would have probably erected that one first as it would have been the easiest, and two, the force of the train at that point would be pushing more outwards than downwards. I could be wrong though.
  12. It's like I open the thread excited that there may be some kind of update on 2016 additions, or just plain discussion about the park itself, but it's the exact opposite. Crazy rumors or theories and fan boy drivel . What proof at all, or what evidence is there to justify making such a ludicrous claim? 2015 was one of the most successful seasons in a while. Attendance was up from my observations, two new attractions were added, and general upkeep and maintenance of the park was improved x1000. Even if CNL still owned the park by them, as an investment company, how would it benefit them at all to only keep the water park operating?
  13. I think my New Years resolution should be to stop opening this thread because of posts like that.....
  14. I love my career. It's just that the construction or building phase is the only part that isn't hands on for me. It's a waiting game. I love seeing the finished product when it's finally done and the troubleshooting phase afterwards is my favorite part.
  15. I currently have an LG Volt. If you want to see a picture, just google garbage, and you'll get some great shots. I wanted to switch to Android bad, but the phone is a piece of junk. The screen is super fragile, internet browsers keep crashing, and the battery has gone to hell. I was going to get a Samsung, but I was too cheap to fork over the money. Next phone for sure I'll get one even if it's an older model.
  16. I'll sleep fine at night knowing that I missed a boat pulling into dock . I guess that construction just doesn't interest me much anymore after I've been working in the engineering industry for years.
  17. It is what it is. Looked like a fun little ride, but GCIs never really impressed me. Lightning Run is the only one that I would be totally upset with if they tore it down.
  18. The capacity on that looks terrible. Will it be an upcharge? This made my day
  19. Do we really need a picture every time somebody moves on the construction site? It's not like anyone can't go on the webcams themselves and look if they want to see the progress. Just trying to save people some trouble.
  20. It's more about supply and demand. RMC has begun raising prices as well. Once a company has so many calls or requests for projects, they have no choice but raising prices to make that demand more manageable. If RMC kept rebuilding coasters for $6 million, every park would want one. By raising prices throughout the years, they have been able to get it down to a manageable 3-4 projects per year.
  21. Two factors made X-Flight cheaper. It was a prototype still, as it was one of the first wing coasters installed. Also, supply and demand caused their price tag to raise. Although Thunderbird has an LSM launch, it cost a lot more than X-Flight despite similar layout specs. B&M had to raise the price so that the demand was low enough for them to produce x-amount of coasters. I would love for VF to get something like an Invert/Wing Coaster, but I'm not getting my hopes up at all.
  22. I know that this rumor has been around for a while, but do we even have any conclusive proof that Ripsaw is officially closed? Weren't there also plans to move it to X-Sector on Submission's old pad? It's not like Alton has confirmed anything yet, but I guess that I'm just waiting for official word to confirm anything.
  23. Still after all these years, Seinfeld is still my favorite by far. Friends is my second favorite, and The Office is my third. The Colbert Report (now the Late Show), Hell's Kitchen, Big Brother, and Monday Night Raw (yes, I still watch it) also are regular watches for me. I'm sure that I'm forgetting a lot, but these are the big ones.
