  1. Steel: B&M for high amounts of both quality and quantity, but Vekoma if we are going for just sheer numbers. Wood: GCI, but RMC will probably overtake them in a few years.
  2. The wood rot part was me guessing why one of the hills collapsed, as I didnt realise it had a steel structure at the time of the post.
  3. me and my family where driving back from New Orleans, and as we passed SFNO, I noticed that Mega Zeph was in suspiciously good shape for a coaster that had a hill collapse due to wood rot. Jester and the boomerang looked like they where doing OK for abandoned rides too.
  4. Out of curosity, when did the design for Thunderbolt get changed from having a twisting elevator lift to having a vertical lift?
  5. Maybe he will take out Ninja at SFOG too!
  6. http://rcdb.com/2785.htm?p=9632 Way too intense.
  7. so looking forward to this next time I go to Orlando.
  8. While we where on our way to Universal the other day, I was telling my mom about how HRRR got stuck recently, and that I was going to ride it anyway. Her response: "Well, when you are dangling upside down for an hour, it's your fault." I told her that HRRR doesn't even go upside down, and added that I was pretty sure it was stuck either on the lift or one of the brakes.
  9. On an unrelated note, I may be going to Carowinds in a few months, and will do a Photo TR if I can remember to find, then bring, my camera.
  10. PLEASANT: Incredible Hulk (IoA): Had heard that this thing had a tendancy to beat the crap out of people every now and then, and was expecting a rough ride. Not Ninja rough, but rough nonetheless. What I got instead was an amazing ride with a glass-smooth first half, and a second half that was only rough when compared to other B&Ms. UNPLEASANT: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (Universal Orlando): Was expecting the fun ride that many other posters on this site discribed. Instead, I experienced a ride that bashed my head against the back of the seat, with the intensity being of the painful variety. At least the Non-Inverting Loop was cool...
  11. Expedition Everest last Saturday. Still don't mind the non-moving Yeti, personally.
  12. IMO, the supports are a stupid reason to not consider a ride wooden.
  13. I am all for turning Maelstrom into Frozen. The current theme makes very little sense to me.
  14. How about an RMC topper invert?
  15. Ones I have been on: Batman clone layout Ones I havent been on: the portable Swartzkopf multi-loopers.
  16. But.... I didn't have a camera with me......
  17. Yes, Despicable Me already has Minion Mayhem, but I think it would be a great property for a family dark ride/coaster. Maybe have a launch section at one point, and show a scene of two minions arguing over whether or not to push the big red button. Obviously, the button would end up being pushed, causing the train to launch.
  18. The following coasters are the first 10 listed on RCDB (going off of page ID): 1: Raptor (Cedar Point) 2: Texas Giant 3: Demon (SFGAM) 4: Shockwave (SFGAM) 5: Batman The Ride (SFGAM) 6: Iron Wolf 7: Mantis (Cedar Point) 8: Flashback (SFOT) 9: American Eagle 10: Viper (SFGAM)
  19. BEST: (no particular order) "Doberhuahua" (Audi) (Best Overall) "Romance" (Chevy) "100,000 Miles" (Volkswagen) "Puppy Love" (Budweiser) "Time Machine" (Doritos) "Phone Call" (RadioShack) whatever the M&Ms one was called Worst: (any of these could be Worst Overall) "Strike" (Maserati) "Bodybuilder" (GoDaddy) "Nice" (Hyundai) "Cool Twist" (Bud Light) "Slow Clap" (CarMax)
  20. I happen to know of a certain epic B&M that is almost entirely outside the park it resides in. Besides, they could have made one go on to the brewery's roof Iron Rattler-style.
  21. Umm... SFGAm? we both know that one doesnt count.
  22. When I told my friend about Outlaw Run, his reaction was as follows. "that is way too dangerous. I must burn it down!"
  23. I don't mind there being a sponsor for the ride, but this does suck. Except for the Georgia Scorcher's Georgia Natural Gas wrap. That's actually clever.
  24. If theming is highly optional (personally, I think SFOG's theming is pretty good for the most part, but I am in the minority there)
  25. Granted, but they don't do anything with the money and space. I wish this wish isn't granted
