  1. I visit Knott's once or twice every year since I really like the atmosphere of it. Though, I will admit, if they added 1 or 2 more thrilling rides like a hyper coaster and/or a retracked Ghost Rider then I'd probably get a season pass. I've been on all the rides so many times now that the only "must-ride" ride for me when I go is Xcelerator, and it'd be nice if there were a couple more thrilling rides. That's just me though and right now, they're going the family route which is probably the smarter move. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see another high thrill attraction for 5+ years since what they've been doing recently with bringing back the charm of Knott's seems to be working pretty well. Despite them adding only family attractions and fixing up old rides for the last decade, the park is still really well-rounded in my opinion.
  2. Very happy with how the results turned out this year. Intamin domination
  3. I definitely wanted to ride it but my friend is scared of drop towers so he wouldn't go on it and I didn't want to make him wait for me. x)
  4. I had the chance to visit SFNE this past Sunday for my first time (just having the chance to post this since I just got home from visiting my friend in Connecticut). The weather was really nice all day and we stayed there from about 1pm - 7pm. Even though it was opening weekend, the crowds were light as we were able to get on 20+ rides in just 6 hours. It would've even been more but ride ops are some of the slowest I've ever seen. hah But anyway, Bizarro x8 Pandemonium x2 Batman: Dark Knight x2 Thunderbolt x2 Cyclone x1 Gotham City Gauntlet x2 Mind Eraser x1 Catwoman's Whip x1 Buzzsaw x1 Flashback x1 Goliath - closed Gondola ride (don't remember the exact name) x2 - Bizarro was super fun, the ride has a great layout and never got old. I could've ridden it all day. The music was playing on every ride we had on it except the first one but the fire/mist effects were absent. My favorite part of the ride was the hill right after the one that takes your picture since you get some serious ejector air from it. I never got to ride Bizarro as Superman so I can't relate to what people say when they've say it has gotten worse but it seemed pretty amazing to me. I'd put it equal to MF and Maverick for coasters I've been on. - Pandemonium was way better than I expected. I actually liked it more than Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's. Our second ride, we got a super unbalanced ride that spun like a crazy which was super fun. I liked the two airtime hills at the end of the ride a lot. - Batman had a really great first drop and felt more forceful than Scream at SFMM. - Thunderbolt felt like a fun little ride when I rode it in the front but the second time in the back, it was extremely jerky and unpleasant. I don't really know what to make of this one, had a good ride and a bad ride pretty much. - Cyclone has such an awkward layout and makes this ear-piercing screeching noise the whole time. Only rode it once since it was one of the worst coasters I've ever ridden. - Gotham City Gauntlet was a fun little mouse coaster with good theming for a Six Flags ride. It 180 degree turns were much more intense than Coast Rider at Knott's or Technic Coaster at Legoland. - Mind Eraser was my first SLC. Man, these things are so uncomfortable. I definitely banged my head a couple of times on those quick corkscrews and had no desire to ride it again. I'm glad I can say I've been on one of these now though so I can relate to all the horrible things people say about them. - Catwoman's Whip had the longest train I've ever seen on such a small ride. I rode in the very back car and the people at the front were already at the bottom of the drop while I was still going up the chain lift. Because of this, it yanked me down pretty fast and I slammed into the side of the train. Strange ride. - Buzzsaw was interesting how it kept doing circular rotations but you never went upside down. I had never been on a thrill ride comparable to it before. - Flashback was uncomfortable and terrible just like the Boomerang at Knott's. - Didn't get to ride Goliath but I rode it at SFMM a few times and always found it to be a fun and a bit terrifying ride. It's a shame I didn't get to ride the sky screamer either since I've never been on those but I didn't expect it to be open at all. And that's pretty much it. One last thing, I would like to mention that the kids areas in the park seemed pretty nice and were also the most crowded areas of the park.
  5. I always really enjoy X2 and it doesn't give me much pain at all. Green Lantern on the other hand....
  6. you stay up until 1am-4am (depending on timezone) to find out what the 2016 Kolmarden project is.
  7. I honestly have no idea what to expect and each one of Robb's posts makes this announcement more exciting. By the way, nice Frozen references above^ I've only seen the movie twice so I can't think of any witty quotes from it to relate to this off the top of my head.
  8. Thanks! Yeah, my friend still hasn't gotten to ride Montezuma's. All 3 times I've taken him over the past 2 years, it has been closed. Horrible luck. Ever since the makeover, I make sure to ride the Log Ride every time I visit the park. Can't wait to see what they do with Calico this year.
  9. Went to Knott's today, weather was perfect, crowds were mild. Overall, had a fun day at the park. Got on: Xcelerator x2 Silver Bullet x1 GhostRider x2 Supreme Scream x2 Coast Rider x1 Sierra Sidewinder x1 Log Ride x1 Montezuma wasn't open and Xcelerator and Silver Bullet both were only running 1 train so the lines were fairly long. GhostRider ran smoother than it did a few months back when I rode it (my friend agreed with this as well). It still needs to be retracked badly though to be restored to its former glory.
  10. X2 front row, right side on March 23rd, I always seem to end my SFMM visits with X2.
  11. That was such a strange, awesome coaster. "Only in Japan"! haha
  12. It's great to see all the major attractions of the year compiled together. Goliath and Helix are a toss up for me for number one most exciting attraction. I think I'm more excited for Goliath though since I haven't been on ANY great wooden coasters yet so I really don't know what to expect.
  13. Also went to the park today and had a good time. I only had to wait 20 mins for X2 since I rode it later in the day. Full throttle was the longest wait of the day at about 45 mins thanks to one train operation. Rode Colossus backwards for the first time ever and didn't like it at all. They had the fire running on both X2 and Apocalypse which was cool and I had a good ride on both. I haven't quite experienced the roughness that people say apocalypse has gotten recently. Got on 9 coasters in total, all the ones I wanted to.
  14. Viper provides nothing but pain and agony every time I ride it. The only time I can remember riding it and thinking it wasn't so bad was when I rode it in the very front row.
  15. Out of the parks I've been to, Cedar Point definitely has the best skyline. No other park, including SFMM, comes close in my opinion.
  16. Agreed^ But having it there is just silly..... especially since for years people hoped for RCT4. Well, at least there is TPS to look forward to!
  17. Yeah this is exactly what I thought of too. Except in this case, it's the opposite of the Mario games since Ferrari Land is being created after Ferrari World. The whole area definitely looks awesome and just based off the picture, I'm gonna estimate that the coaster will be in the 350-400ft range.
  18. I wasn't too fond of namtaB at SFGA last year but I'll try it again here at SFMM to see if it's any different.
  19. At knotts, topper track for Ghostrider or some airtime-heavy coaster like a mega-lite or a hyper.
  20. This list is gonna be so different after this year after I've ridden coasters like Helix, SkyRush, Bizarro, Nitro, Storm Runner etc. Most the top coasters I'll ride this year are wooden but there's definitely some highly anticipated steel coasters for me in the mix. 21. *crosses fingers* I don't wanna get my hopes up too high but if Iron Colossus ever does get announced, it'll be a very long and exciting wait from that moment till the moment I can ride it.
  22. I'm pretty sure El Loco (from adventuredome) shouldn't be counted for the 2013 poll since it's a 2014 coaster. People also were saying that it will probably be categorized as it's own ride since it's a custom design as opposed to the other El Loco's when it's added to the poll.
