  1. what a dummy i am, i didn't watch it on a large screen. it was just an airplane that went by. LOL
  2. i see a drone. would love to see it from the sky.
  3. it's probably the shocks on the RMC trains...keeps the ride smooth, even going over the bolts.
  4. since it hasn't been posted yet... [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  5. that steel has been there for a long time. months. the only place they've installed it.
  6. Even, from that point (the bridge, right?), it seems like it would be longer. I haven't waited in line for that ride in many years, but the I seem to recall that when the switchbacks are full, that's a few hours right there. And when it's running a single train? It seems crazy! yeah, maybe it was just a real loose line at that point. not too compressed and solid. i haven't waited for X2 in a while. like, i haven't ridden it in a few years.
  7. Wow! I'm surprised that's only a couple of hours though — I would have guessed somewhere between 4 and 6 hours. I skip it if the wait's any more than 6 minutes my friend who waited 2 1/2 hours said she got in line at the X2 sign. so, then, it wasn't as long as the picture.
  8. i know someone who went today and she said she waited 2 1/2 hours before closing.
  9. glad i wasn't drinking anything cause my whole desk would have been F'd up by me blowing it all over.
  10. honestly, i'm just glad it's still running 3 trains.
  11. i think the trains look great. i'm not so sure on the match with the track and supports. but whatever, who cares, it's going to be awesome. i like the guy on facebook bitching because he's 6+ft and a 40" waist. "Guess I'll have to take my business elsewhere" what a threat!
  12. 200+ rides and luck, or say that when the other train is within 2-3 train lengths that it dueled. but seriously, i've been on a lot, and i've only dual dueled like 2-3 times. many kind of close, like a train length, but that's not a duel to me.
  13. As far as I know, Lex was the only ride closed specifically for wind. Which wasn't all the surprising, since a lot of vertical tower rides don't operate in high wind. That kind of thing is usually set by the manufacturer of the attraction based on the way it was engineered. The weird part was that Superman was still running, even though the two rides share a structure. i wouldn't really think either of those rides would be affected by wind really. of course i'm just a keyboard ride engineer. lol
  14. i usually guess by the park hours. they are open until 9pm this week, then until 8pm for a couple weeks. april 12th they start to close at 6pm. i'd guess that's when it will slow down some.
  15. That was an option, but it was decided by the park management that it would decrease the capacity too much. That extra 10-20 seconds doesn't seem like a lot in the course of one cycle, but over an entire operating day could decrease the ridership by close to 1000 guests. They knew it would be popular and the line would be crazy, so they did what they could do (cheaply) to mitigate it. More trains and a double station would have been the best idea for capacity, but it's a less practical option for the park as a business, so I can't really fault them for not going that route. instead, they just slowed the green side even more. when there's a chance that side goes so slow, i'm not sure it's worth it anymore. i'd almost just rather jam up both sides and go solo and have the line move even faster. btw, they tried to do some dueling during the commercial shoot by stopping the green side. i don't they ever got it lined up when i was riding and they did that.
  16. ^^i completely think it would help. it sure seems to help at other parks. saw a guy just sit down on the seatbelt and pull the lap bar down the other day...can you say all trains stacked. i also mentioned earlier about them just letting anyone into the flash pass area. on my ride we seriously sat in the station with one side of the train checked while the other side wasn't touched. a group of guests were in the ada/flash pass area and just walked up to the operator talking and talking about who knows what. another triple stack of trains. but yeah, i do think if they just announced what to do over and over with encouragement, it would duel a decent amount.
  17. did you get a chance to see how full the parking lot was today?
  18. i know they sometimes had some. i have a riddlers revenge one from probably sometime around when it opened. also have a Goliath from SFGAm. but most all other pins i have are from other parks. they do have magnets as well, which, are larger. but i didn't see the dueling TC one, which was my favorite pin.
  19. i should have taken pics of the rest. they are cool. How many of them are there? I could really blow a paycheck on those... not 100% sure. definitely remember Tatsu, and X2. they also have a pin collector lanyard with a TC and SFMM pin that come with it.
  20. i should have taken pics of the rest. they are cool.
  21. also picked up these pins. finally something i like. they have magnets that are similar and a bit larger. the pins are only roughly 1"-1.25" square. the coaster cars move a little too. i'll probably end up buying them all. $7.99 each. pretty steep. 20% with gold dining pass and 10% extra discount at the renovated store. which btw is nice and clean, but a bit walmartish. gets the job done. merchandise on racks and registers.
  22. went up to the park for a few hours today. great weather. main 3 lots were full. only rode TC once. i really wish they had someone at the front of the entrance. usual stuff happened. 1 person got out of line, went to get 6 more people and they all just walked right in front of the Flash Pass girl without her saying a thing. tried out Chop Six. it's okay. i prefer Panda Express by far tho. the teriyaki chicken i really liked though. the fried rice needed to be cooked more. i was going to try the donuts and ordered them. then, waited for them to cook them. i saw others get them. the girl helping me knew she missed out on getting mine. shift change, and she was gone and so were my donuts. my food was getting cold so i just said f it, and didn't bother them about it. wasn't that hungry, just wanted to use my dining pass. looked at the one revolution support in every angle and i totally looks like they didn't paint the one side. it looks just like primer only. new logos in the fence will look cool once all finished. superman must have been hit with some kryptonite. couldn't even hit the red. it's not always like that, is it? anyway, was crowded but great weather. wish i had gotten out there earlier to get more done. i think they forgot to paint one side. i think they forgot to paint one side. superman wasn't feeling too strong today. topped out here. new logos in the fence. just need some grinding on the welds, primer and paint. something tells me all three won't happen. awesome new sign no head dressing, no problem.
  23. a bit off topic, but i just noticed that Rollercoaster is actually coming out in HD soon. www.blu-ray.com/movies/Rollercoaster-Blu-ray/101899/
  24. you don't think it might still pop up on that next piece of track? looks like there still might be room, and without the ledgers placed yet, hard to say yes or no.
  25. i saw a pic of someones chop six food from today. sorry, not much help.
