  1. it kinda seems like it gets caught up in the dive loop and zero g. seems to slow, shake, then boom get loose. hope to ride it soon!
  2. my last visit a couple days ago, i was telling my friend how seemingly every busy day i visit, the same line jump technique is used. one of the party goes forward thru the line, then not long after, the rest go to join. then boom, a girl just ducks under the que at Full Throttle and later her friends join. i told an employee as we were walking forward after the first covered portion, but of course she cared none. btw, the gum on the ground below the walkup que to the station at Full Throttle is getting pretty big. LOL
  3. I also hope it's completely changed. i'm hoping they can still use the existing structure, with just a lot of modification. but, if it's real similar, and doesn't slow down around the turn arounds, it should be awesome. i don't care if they race it or not, it will only last so long with both sides open knowing magic mountain.
  4. out of all the coasters there, i really only ride a few of them. because, well, a lot suck. lol looking forward to add a great one!
  5. it was awesome waiting for Superman way back when. anyway, i'm excited to visit my birth city this summer for the first time since i think raging bull was brand new or 2nd year.
  6. recently got my first and last ride on Batman backwards. I think it's terrible. too brutal for me. maybe i'm just a wimp. lol colossus backwards is okay. but i haven't done it in years, and have no desire. green lantern was also a one ride for me when it opened. felt like my head was cracked open. i commend you for braving the 100 plus heat. it's been brutal the last couple days.
  7. SFMM is my home park. I'll continue to go because of the rides. But, that place is a dirty mess. I answer the questionnaire sent to me after a visit pretty much the same way. The place is extremely unkept and the employees, not all, but generally aren't attentive and don't seem to want to be there. I'm extremely grateful that it is open year round. So, I can look past much of what disappoints me. Instead of trying out all these unique rides, I rather they just concentrate on proven winners. I bypass a number of coasters because they just aren't fun, or haven't been kept well. I pray for the RMC makeover of Colossus. LOL
  8. I hope to make it out to Ohio to return to King's Island since like 97 or 98. :O is there no mid course brakeon Banshee? how does this affect capacity? does it run 3 trains?
  9. as much as I'd like an awesome ride each year, I really wouldn't mind if the announcement was something like...we are going to refresh everything! we are going to paint the rides, clean all the gum, redo the walkways, hire employees that are fun with good attitudes, run all rides at full capacity, etc. etc. every time i go to MM, i receive the email survey. every time i answer the same way. dirty, line jumping, most employees uninterested besides the "whoop whoop". but always end it with, i'll keep coming back for some of the great rides, so you have me there. lol
  10. Best Steel: Goliath? Xcelerator? Worst Steel: Green Lantern or X2. I really am not a fan of the flipping forward and back I guess. On X2 my calves get beat up bouncing around. Green Lantern was headache city. I admit, we were severely weight biased on my side and flipped a lot. So, basically, every flip was a head bang. Best Wood: Apocalypse...haven't ridden Gold Striker yet. Worst Wood: Ghostrider Used to easily be my favorite. It killed me last time I rode.
  11. he definitely said it...but, he could just be repeating some stuff he's read on a forum. so who knows. less than a week and we will find out. i'm hoping it's true.
  12. the bus driver last time i was there was doing his own announcement for iron colossus. asking who rode colossus, then saying this is the last year and will be rebuilt as a steel coaster. so it has to be true from such a reliable source.
  13. this is after I got back to the hotel and had already washed my face, hands, neck, etc. at the park. LOL my neck and hands were covered.
  14. I just did a return visit to Cedar Point from LA last month since 1997, I think. Whenever they added the trim brake on Mantis. Anyway, I didn't want to spend forever traveling, so United it was as it's the only non stop flight. 4.5 hours compared to 7ish at best. It wasn't that much more to justify waiting around in another airport. Although, the flights aren't cheap. Cleveland isn't a vacation destination or at the least popular like Chicago, New York, etc. I booked way late and paid for it, but didn't care. It could have been as low as $350 when I originally started looking. I did stay at Maui Sands. When we drove up, after passing some other decent looking hotels, I was not impressed by the outer shell. Still wasn't too impressed by the front desk area. But, the room was great. Comfy bed, really clean, large, I had the "family room". I think it's the smallest of their rooms. With 2 bunk beds for kids and a privacy door. Also small fridge and microwave. Walmart is across the street so we saved on snacks and drinks there. Definitely had to rent a car to get there and into the park. Maui Sands is something like 5-6 miles away from Cedar Point. Some stuff I will do different next year. get flight earlier, duh. buy platinum pass at Knott's before. I contemplated it, but was on the budget and some tickets on ebay was still a good savings. If it were earlier in the year, I wouldn't have hesitated. I'd like to go for 3 days instead of 2. We were a bit rushed to get in as much as we wanted. Fastlane is a must, imo. Oh, and most of all..Top Thrill Dragster front row just after the sun goes down in July, big no no.
  15. I actually really like Superman: Escape from Krypton now. Feels much faster than it ever has. Maybe it's the wind blowing the right way when I've rode lately. LOL
  16. went to the park yesterday, aug 5th with bro in law and nephew from out of town. crowded, parking was in the overflow lot, where we parked getting there around 1pm. didn't ride too much because of the crowds, but still had a decent time. full throttle, 40min wait. drop of doom about the same or less. superman, both sides open, line a bit out of the building. i'd guess it took us roughly 40 min as well. riddler's revenge was long at one point then only about 30 min later when i rode. scream and batman both one train, so didn't bother. goliath was 90 min so skipped as well. tatsu was about an hour. both stations going, not sure how many trains. viper, walk on. lol. i never bother with x2, not a fan, at all. the bus driver on the way back asked how many had rode colossus. then explained this is the last year and would be rebuilt as a steel coaster next. hope all the rumors are true. colossus is one of many coasters i really don't count at magic mountain. lol
