i do terrible in the heat, no matter what i'm doing. used to run a lot, and you could easily see in times in races, 5k,10k, half marathon, the differences it makes. at amusement parks, i just simply try not to go. also, i've lived pretty much my entire life in so.cal. so i'm not accustomed to much humidity at all. one of the worst days recently was a day, really just a few hours, at SFGA last month. best i can do is try to drink a good amount of water and frequent dunks of the head in the restroom. lol 2, back to back 97 degree days at Magic Mountain last weekend felt like nothing compared to that day at great america. the best thing to get over the heat is when the air gates open and you get on the coaster.

i know they shouldn't but they do, and have. look at california adventure and those covers over california screamin'. and before maliboomer with those disgusting face shields. also reminds me of the drag strip at pomona fairplex had to stop doing arrive and drive drag races because of noise complaints.

I've only ridden ghostrider a couple times in the past couple years, but if the retracking worked, i'd hate to feel what it was like before. used to be my favorite woodie. now it's not even worth talking about, imo. train practically stopped with that second half trim. yuck. or maybe not, probably would kill even more. i kind of doubt knott's will ever get a giga. they'll have to tunnel the entire first drop if they had to with ghostrider. wish buena park and anaheim would have a living agreement...you want to live in our cities, you put up with any noise our parks make. lol

sorry if this has been talked about, but are they using those cameras on Banshee? cameras mounted on the row in front. ride op told me they were going to start doing videos soon. -
Smoothest Coaster You've Ridden?

out of my recent adventures, SFGM, SFMM, Knott's, Cedar Point and Kings Island... Silver Bullet really stands out. I hadn't ridden in a couple years or so, and rode Banshee a couple weeks before. Silver Bullet was amazingly smooth. I always new so, but after riding Raptor and Banshee, SB is way smoother than both. other notables, are YOLO minus the first launch. not much track for it to feel not smooth tho. lol RMC SFGA Goliath is really smooth too. SFMM Goliath is smooth as others have mentioned but the mid course brakes are a joke now. Sometimes completely stopping the train. Other than that, it's smooth. It is better than when it first opened and the chunky wheels tho. lol -

I just figured the top of the lift hill is 325' drop to roughly 10' or so above ground. drop 310-315? 95 mph, doesn't physics make it a little higher than MF? -

I'd trade 2/3 of the coasters at my home park SFMM for this to be near me. -

my sister lives in chapel hill and i've only been there once in her 18-20 years there. guess this will give me a reason to at least meet them in charlotte and see my niece and nephew in their own state for once. lol looks like a lot of fun and really love the entrance. -
I remember liking it more backwards than forward. I also felt the same about Psyclone. So, I decided to ride with my nephew from out of town this past reverse stint. In that Psyclone train, in whatever row we were in, I thought it was one of the worst wooden experiences I've ever had. LOL But back in the day, I remember really liking it. go figure. I wasn't planning on riding Colossus ever again after that. But figured I'd get one last ride before it closed. I hadn't ridden Colossus forward in a number of years, but felt it was surprising decently smooth. At least in the front. After riding SFGA Goliath last month, and Robb saying its his least favorite RMC, I'm hoping for any RMC to replace Colossus. Hoping for a zero g stall!

Went to Magic Mountain to get that last ride for the heck of it, and hopefully get a pin. Waited roughly 50 minutes. Also got lucky to get the front row. I honestly hadn't ridden forward in a while. Honestly can't remember the last time I rode Colossus forward. I did ride reverse earlier this year, and it was the worst ride I've ever had. Today, in the red train, front row, was the complete opposite. I was totally amazed at how smooth it was, at least in the front. I think I could have done the 36 hour! lol Anyway, excited to see what's next.

my cousin and her family are in town and decided to finish off their stay with knott's today so i joined them. i haven't ridden ghostrider in a while since the last time was so rough. thought, i'll give it another chance. i'll tell you i was so happy that mid course brake is there now. no telling how much more brutal it would be with it flying through that section. lol really hope they put some major work into it sometime soon. used to be one of my favorite rides.

I'm no fast pass expert, but i've seen fast passers come in on both sides. but, i can't remember if both sides were operating at the time. but i have definitely seen them on both sides before. i never knew they closed drop of doom for wind. i've been up there when it's been pretty dang windy before.
