  1. sign up, these email are similar, but titled Pass Holder Benefits, and dates.
  2. also, make sure your are registered to https://rewards.sixflags.com/ that may or may not help. i know i get multiple emails.
  3. luckily, so cal doesn't have an off season. this time next year i'll be going to Magic Mountain and doing some colossus marathoning on an October Friday before Fright Fest.
  4. I really wish Magic Mountain would be better with social media. Especially when it comes to construction updates for new coasters, etc. You know, something like Cedar Point, or even SFGA was great with the Goliath insider. Even just a few pics on Twitter or Facebook would be nice.
  5. i know i went a couple times as a small kid. the only thing i really remember is it's location. drove past last night even.
  6. yeah, i think they are kickin ass so far. a lot done in a roughly a month, imo. i'd guess the goal is before memorial day, so that's a long time away. really no weather to contend with, i have the highest hopes for this coaster opening on schedule. i'm interested what's going to happen in that area that they chopped all the trees down. i'd guess some buildings or something might show up. what other reason would they cut trees?
  7. I went tonight, should have been there much earlier but was waiting for my friend. Not sure what the hell she was doing and got there after sundown. so, barely was able to see anything. but yeah, barely was able to see one section going up the lift now. totally could not see the green return track. with them turning off most of the coaster lighting for fright fest, the goliath area is pretty dark when you should be able to see the colossus track. i did for fun take a video while waiting for yolo. the recorded announcement tells you to leave the lap bar up, as well as the ride operators, until they lower it for you. so, yeah, the policy is still to leave it up. which has always been my experience since they started. they took 2 minutes to launch a train from when the train reaches the station. it takes roughly 25 seconds for the train to go from block brake to station. i was a bit surprised it was only 2 minutes. so hopefully, with more employees, they can make the 90 seconds supposedly needed to dual twisted colossus work.
  8. true, but during the "Top Gun" element, you will be able to keep up foreign relations...
  9. both Goliath and Yolo when i rode this past Sunday told you not to touch it. i rode just once on each.
  10. yolo could be so much better if a. the train didn't take so long to get back to the station from the block brake, or b. they unloaded there. by the time the riders are out of the train, the other is already back. plus, the seat belts that were added and having to wait for the operators to lower the lap bar, extend the time waiting now.
  11. my latest trip, on Sunday, I even thought about filming how slow Yolo was. lol I can't remember when goliath dispatched before hitting zero on that timer. when i was there for ERT for a Slurpee event and you didn't have to get off, that might have been the only time but it was close. also what slowed them down that day was the constant begging to go to guest services and tell them how great crew they were. that was so annoying. i'm thinking what extremely fast to you, is not to me. magic mountain is often satisfactory to me, but never what i'd call fast. it's been a long time that i can remember seeing employees try to be as fast as possible. the quickest ones to me are viper and ninja, no seatbelt to mess with which makes it faster to check.
  12. at least when it's busy, i hope. i wouldn't be against not being allowed any bags/extra belongings in the station, so to help speed up the process. like on Banshee at Kings Island. the only thing they are holding for you, are slippers/thongs, and they come get them from your feet even. their goal is 45 seconds, and it's rare when i was there, to see them not hit that goal. Diamondback too, the employees are taking your bags for you to the other side and placing them in the bins to save time. Again, another 45 second goal there, and pretty much every time hitting it. but again, i'm used to the way things move at Magic Mountain. i'm just excited an RMC, and a long one, is being built at SFMM.
  13. first let me say, i don't really care if it does or not. when it does, it will be cool. probably more cool seeing it from the parking lot. i'd also believe/hope they will do some syncing on the lift hill, but there's a point when the train leaves so late, i doubt they'd make the other take 2 minutes to go up the second lift. they still need to get close to the 90 second dispatches. and no matter how many they let go because it didn't make it, the ones that do, still need to hit that time window. that there is the issue. so, the issues to me are, employees, lack of employees, and then the general magic mountain crowd that takes their sweet ass time.
  14. i forget where, but i remember hearing the trains would need to be dispatched in 90 seconds to be able to duel. i think it was the cbs news video, that i can't find a working linke anymore. anyway, i really hope they have enough workers, who care and are trained to move fast enough for this to be possible. i just keep thinking about that 100 second countdown clock in Goliath going to zero and flashing when the operators finally get to the front of the train and start working their way back lowering lap bars.
  15. yeah, i've found that out since. that thing seemed about 2 inches long. just cruising around the middle of the path by Drop of Doom. had i known, i would have stayed much farther away than about the 12" i was to take this pic.
  16. all i know is, there's a huge pile in the middle of the first turn around. they should try to sell some track. probably recycling all the steel though.
  17. yeah, there's a couple, then the trick track where it banks left and right. i'm really interested how this is going to feel riding. cause when you see it, and you can see it real good from Goliath's lift hill, it kinda looks like it could be painful. but i'll put my trust in Mr. Schilke's skills and assume it will be a fun little ride to the lift.
  18. Here's some pics I took today... From the Goliath queue. the pre lift bunny hops/trick track. the pre lift bunny hops/trick track. the pre lift bunny hops/trick track. they are using the tree on one side to adjust the track. they are using the tree on one side to adjust the track. other side the post from the exit bridge. Interesting dude just walking the midway today. the growing gum pathway next to yolo coaster. finally, the cut away drop. Everything else is the same as has been posted a bunch.
  19. i hope they open up the station. it's too cramped in there. with a whole other side, i'd assume they will. but you know what they say about assuming...
  20. great pics! thanks! the track is installed just out of the station and down a bit is what i saw on a couple places on facebook.
  21. i saw another commercial, for what i can't remember, but it also used the same song. damn memory. i wasn't paying attention to the tv, and my first thought was, oh wow, they have a tv commercial already for colossus! lol
