when they meet john candy, that's in the front right after you come into the park. the planters behind the guard he tells to get on the ground are still there and look the same. where they get arrested is still there and where you walk past to go to X2. still pretty much the same there, too. the parking lot and drive into wally world i assume here just staged somewhere. they aren't magic mountain. also, some in bugs bunny land, but most of that looks different now. i believe some of the cops running in was near log jammer, which is yolo now and completely changed. well, what i believe was the sitting area where you could see and watch the boats come back in.

besides a complete rain out closure, i never felt they owe us anything. magic mountain has this on their website, like i'm sure all parks do. it is nice that for the most part, they keep all rides running throughout the year instead of complete shut downs like disneyland during off season. i'll tell you i've had many wasted hours the last couple years at cedar point for, wind, rain, and tornado warning, in july. yeah, it sucks when you come from so far, but it is what it is.

Looks like he said the 3rd lot is almost full... does that mean the lot past Scream? oh, my bad. i just saw some of his pics, and talk about all the re-rides. must have been early when he got in. 3rd lot is crowded, imo. 1 and a half is decent. used to love those days way back when they kept the park running full time through september. the lot on the weekdays wouldn't even fill the first section. more people at costco, on a slow day. lol

It's going to be packed. I went on the Monday before Christmas last year and it was so busy the park had to extend hours. All the major coasters were 60+ minute waits, and even the second tier coasters had mostly full queues (that's the only time I've ever seen the lower area in use on Gold Rusher). In the whole day we only managed to do six coasters (YOLOcoaster, Batman, Apocalypse, Tatsu, Riddler, and Goliath) plus Lex Luthor. If you want to go one of those days, a Flash Pass will be required in order to do everything. also, it's also bring a friend for free Mon, Tue, Wed. i know i went last year and can't remember how it was. or i went when they had the snow globe you could take a picture in. was that last year?

I meant they promoted the season pass as a big deal to ride Superman. something like, buy a pass to ride superman in 1996, or whenever it opened. then it kept getting delayed but they had those special days later in the year when it worked enough so pass holders could ride. so, they still kept their promise to pass holders. i do think six flags does a lot for pass holders.
-
When has that ever mattered before i haven't really paid close attention but i remember when they used to make it a perk to ride a new ride and at a certain time. with superman, that was pretty bad. at least we got to ride one night. or maybe pass holders were spread out a number of days. car went up about 2/3 of the tower, if that. i don't really remember. so i'd guess those promises, at least as a perk to buy a pass, really aren't stressed anymore. that dual RMC colored drop is looking pretty wicked. lol

this was talked about when it came out some pages back. there are supports that run through some of the old track. the brake run is in the middle, and will all be gone. the part that is bracing the lift hill is the run up to the double up. a lot of the wood at least looks pretty worn. can't wait for them to freshen it all up with new paint.

i really like SFMM because of some of the rides, and of course, it's somewhat close to me. not 4 miles like Knott's but you get the picture. but, it's not a very clean park. i've just come to accept that. i take random pics and here are some just so you know what i mean. maybe all those leaves just fell. but that's just unkept to me. gum next to yolo gum next to yolo poorly kept railing. i won't even talk about that horrible weld, or maybe i just did. lol more yolo gum. messy expandable foam vandalized wait sign. i originally took this pic because i saw a sweeper. but, look at the fence. mounting tab about an inch in the air. brick work is negligible. when the sprinklers are on in the Tatsu que, mud forms. dirty planters of small trash. those are just some random pics i found on my phone. maybe that stuff is no big deal to some. but to me, it makes a big statement to the cleanliness of the park. it is what it is. like i always say in the surveys, i'll always continue to come to SFMM because of the rides. I also realize i know nothing about keeping a park alive, budgets, etc. but when you go to other parks that are really nice and clean, it makes you wish that for your home park.

i liked Big Bad Wolf better. but Ninja has that non stop action. what i like about the Arrow suspended coasters is how much it swings. i believe BBW had more of the high swings. and, like you said, the final drop was fun into the ravine. i like those two the best out of the four i've ridden. top gun/the bat and draggin iron the other two.

Everyone, go lick Riddler's Revenge, NOW! But in all seriousness, a little paint goes a long way in the intangible perception of the park by guests. As well-known figure known for growing parks stated very well during a session at IAAPA, paint is cheap with a high return on investment. Guests look at a facility and judge it based on the overall appearance more than the ride experiences themselves in many cases. Having a spruced up facility with fresh paint and maintained structures can fool guest into thinking that things are like new. Personally, walking up to any attraction that appears poorly cosmetically maintained even gives the trained eye of myself the expectation of a poor ride experience. For many others, faded/chipped paint or surface rust also gives an unsafe perception when actually mechanics are as sound as when the ride was new. Again, paint is cheap and has a high ROI. I'm not a stickler for slightly faded or weathered attractions as I understand that painting is not budgeted at the top of priorities with the necessary mechanical needs. I also understand that time and resources are very limited to keep every attraction appearing "like new." But looking at something like Scream is just sad. I like to advocate for colors that fade well on coasters. A great example is Maverick. It has faded from the freshness of the inaugural season, but an overall perspective of the coaster is still very cosmetically appealing as it is a tone of red that doesn't turn pink too fast. that's one of the things that bugs me about SFMM. faded rides, poorly kept areas, gum all over the place. i can't see any excuse to at least change the Scream sign/banner. lol
