  1. i'm glad they are getting a real sign for Scream. they said "3D". would be nice if it's like Banshee or Gatekeeper. i really like those.
  2. i really wish you could get closer to some of the coaster track at magic mountain while walking around the park. colossus will look great with the colors and more open layout now.
  3. in that new video they say it will be getting new colors. also shown in the video are is where the new wood down low showing support going thru the old track. so, besides the construction guy saying that old track will probably stay, it does seem like that's what may happen.
  4. are you talking about the top of the green lift hill? what i've read from the reports from the construction tour is they follow the path of the ride, together. just like they are doing on wicked cyclone. i did read that that they will finish off the bottom of the green lift hill because they need it out of the way for the end of the ride or something. so that was a switch in schedule.
  5. i just like bigger first drops, like the top 5 steel coasters. lol but i'll take dual 100 ft 80 degree-ers any day! i think both tracks will be pretty equal. i think the double down will be pretty awesome. the dive into the green track, too. and i love the zero g stall.
  6. the slow down mid course i definitely know, but i was curious about the slow down before the first drop. i don't remember doing it before. while i like superman's acceleration, TTD is way better. Formula Rossa must be insane.
  7. yeah, alan even said in that interview that he thinks wicked cyclone will be the best one yet, and it's small. because yeah, the taller the drop, the more pullout you need. i think TC will be a decent combo of both, but more on the larger drawn out scale than non stop action of wicked cyclone.
  8. That's the other issue ... at SFMM, the only 'big drop' is Goliath, but that drop flattens out too soon as well and the drop angle is only 61. X2 IMO is the best drop, but that's a different beast altogether. Let's see...Twisted Colossus has a 128 ft drop, so the following are all larger: YOLOcoaster: ~160 ft Goliath: 255 ft Riddler's Revenge: 146 ft Scream: 141 ft Superman: 328 ft Viper: 171 ft X2: 215 ft I don't mean to sound like that guy, but this is why each of those aren't my favorites... yolo, i don't really call anything it does a drop. over the top hat would be pretty cool, if it didn't brake. goliath is pretty good, but the slow down at the top kills it. it would be much better, imo, if it just flew over. i could have sworn when it was new it did. can anyone confirm that? my memory fails me. the B&M twisty drops i'm not really a fan of. but, i do really love Banshee's drop, it's profiled different. back, outside right please. superman is better for acceleration than the drop, for me. viper and X2 both beat me up so i just spend more time on stuff i like. my favorites are long straight ejector drops. so, although smaller, i'm sure i'll love colossus' new drops.
  9. nope, i also was hoping they raised it, but didn't think they would from history of refurbishing. after riding SFGA Goliath, i was so hoping for a 200 footer. i'm perfectly fine with what we are getting. did get the zero g stall i love.
  10. i don't think the traffic will be that bad on sunday. saturday's suck. but if you get out early enough, i think you'll be fine. knott's chicken dinner...i refreshed my memory that it about the same to me as a hometown buffet. if you do knott's and don't have time, i wouldn't sweat it. just my 2 cents.
  11. i read somewhere they said it would be used for flash pass and was it wheelchair access? hopefully also just expanding the station. always hated how cramped that station is, along with most all the coaster stations at magic mountain.
  12. i really liked his explanation of where the seats flip on the new Batman. made total sense why i hated green lantern. also, the way he frankly spoke about X2 and it's roughness depending on certain factors.
  13. i think there will be a decent amount of new wood after the high five. it looks like after it, the trains will follow the old path first, being close to the lift hill, then twist back toward the parking lot. i'd think much of the old block brake will be gone. also, i thought it cool that alan designed the trains to cross each other 4 times, if they leave the lift hill at the same time.
  14. definitely seemed like a total joke. I don't know about that. it could possibly still be true, he was probably smiling because he's proud of what they did, you know, saying it kinda lightheartedly, like "no harm done, right?" i don't think he wanted to come out and say, yeah my lame crew weren't prepared and it got out of control. lol gotta keep out confidence in their crew. btw, miss queen, i like your "colossus crown". i think it was fake closing day i saw you and your crown in line. i was going to go look for one in the stores until i saw you later and realized it was one of a kind! very cool!
  15. it's like walking into Chevrolet handing out Ford truck flyers. well, something like that. anyway, i watched it, and i'm glad i know why Green Lantern sucks. also, getting my finger ready for some Top Gun action. lol
  16. I hope they at least paint the track. i'm guessing the only place they wouldn't really need to touch is that final turn around. there is still track to the Dragon ride to the top of the hill. you can see it on the 2nd lift on Ninja. that one didn't make much sense to me, but i guess if it wasn't in the way, leave it.
  17. millennium force and top thrill dragster. people are always seem extra excited coming into the brake run or station. i think lex luthor drop of doom at sfmm is similar. i also felt that sfga goliath gets some pretty good reaction.
  18. fred grubb and sfmm park president bonnie rabjohn = rmc exec and daughter?? lol anyway, sfga Goliath's seats/trains are pretty big. i don't think there's much problem.
  19. it does look crappy, imo. all the water leaks and surface rust. just a bit of fiberglass and paint would make it look great. hopefully, they are making it look better now. i thought log jammer was such a better layout and looked great. i thought the scenery was so much nicer around log jammer, too.
