  1. as far as my report, let me also say that pretty much every train also had empty seats. another thing i noticed today was, not a lot of sports bottles. less GP holding stuff up. but the ride operators were definitely hustling back to their stations for the all clear regardless. also noticed the higher than normal enthusiasm when returning to the station on all the coasters i rode today.
  2. so park was dead today. weather was perfect. a tiny bit windy up on drop of doom, but nothing closed because of it as far as i know. parking was a full first section and most all of the part in front of the picnic area. superman line was just about to the end of the tunnel. revolution was roughly to the beginning of the incline. took a good 45 minutes to get on. first headset was too hot. second was good. my friends just didn't work. rode without, but they told us we can ride again. so after the first ride, got right back in line. 3rd headset for me went dead waiting. then the replacement was okay, but i couldn't get it to focus very well at all. so that was annoying. while waiting in line while on the bridge, at least a few people every train were being sent back to re-ride. they were also barely getting headsets back and cleaned in time. if they have what 250 headsets, they need 600. charge, cool down, clean, etc. anyway, i thought the VR was cool. the video doesn't always replicate the physical movement exactly the same. like the turns or dives feel like the angle is off during some scenes. no sound is a bit of a bummer. i was at simulator city universal a couple weeks ago, so maybe i'm just spoiled. although i didn't ride without, my friend did, and revolution is so slow, i can see it being way better with the VR. probably ride it another time with a buddy i go with a lot, but after that, if the line is as long as it was today, to me, it's not worth waiting for. the area looks great as many have said. i have to say, today i noticed some great employees. like someone said earlier, the TC crew was hustlin'. got a near dual duel, but the lifts just seem like they need some adjustments. encouragement given to the GP while boarding, and countdown to duel or not. i think some has to do with it being off season, they have the more seasoned, serious, crew in place these days? i dunno, non of the employees looked familiar but were great. superman, revolution, goliath...all had crews that weren't messing around. anyway, had a great time today. oh yeah, these guys got the boot for something. there were like 3 other staff there also. toward the bottom of the hill by the carousel they were talking crap as they were being escorted out. i get a kick out of guys getting booted for doing something wrong.
  3. we just did rev but the parking was just the first section. so I'd say it's dead. going to other areas now and I'll see
  4. I'm at the park today. in line for revolution now. it's painfully slow.

  7. Ghostrider or Silver Bullet. Knott's is 4.3 miles from my house. I need to go see how much steel has been installed on ghostrider.
  8. 4.3 miles to Knott's Berry Farm.
  9. Right side is going up to the red painted section and pretty close to the brakes on top. Left side hasn't been running for at least a month now. going up to? or, going up into? if it's coming anywhere near the "brakes", it's completely into the red, which is how it should be running. but it wasn't even hitting the red recently. if it did, maybe a foot or two.
  10. i only know tim burkhart said they wouldn't be removed at WCB.
  11. oh, that's why i saw night shots of revolution running. was kinda curious about that.
  12. i continue to get emails years after. that's one i wouldn't worry about. lol
  13. that's a great deal, i pay like $5.50 now for my gold membership. i bet it had something to do with having 4? i don't know. i know you can do that with sirius satellite radio. they keep coming with the offers at a fraction of the price they normally charge if you cancel.
  14. my one and only ride on Green Lantern SFMM was the worst I've ever experienced. I really felt like I could get seriously injured. this was before the modification. but, i just don't see it being fun, so i don't bother trying again. alan shilke described the problem perfectly about where the location of the seats affect the ride experience.
  15. I know I am different than 99.99% of coaster enthusiast... But I'd buy the Fast Lane deal online before I went to the park. The worst case is that you get there and you don't "need" the Fast Lane. But: 1.) It's money that (by the time you visit the park) has already been spent. -and- 2.) Even if it only saves you 10 minuets... That's 10 minutes saved that could be spent on another coaster!! Like I said, I know I am in the minority, but when we visit parks we ALWAYS buy the "line skip" in advance. i'm right there with you. but i'm also coming from california. my last two trips 2-3 days each have been scattered with thunderstorm and tornado warnings. so, fast lane just gives me that extra amount of time. one day i'll get a full day of nice weather and fast lane +!
  16. here's my speculation from the comfort of my desk chair...the thing simply wasn't going fast enough up the hill. being the keyboard engineer that i am, they probably need to swap some parts out and do some better calculations with the info they now have.
  17. the only thing that kills TC's pacing is the second lift. other wise, it doesn't seem much different. that being said, i'd probably want Storm Chaser to be near me than TC. hope to ride soon!
  18. great video! the drone shots are awesome. so, new wheel carriages and new seats, obviously. anyway, really enjoyed that video. great audio too, music and in the interviews. There was no mention of wheel carriages, wheel housings, or bogies. The quote was "we re-did the road wheels," which usually translates to New Wheels. sorry, must have been smoking something. not sure where i heard carriages. so yeah, new seats and new road wheels. basically what i thought the first time i saw the pictures of the train.
  19. was checking them out earlier. awesome. can't wait for the video! thanks

  21. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/store/season-flash-pass season flash pass. why not, everything else is for sale all season.
  22. does anyone know if they will still have a single rider line? i haven't read anything about one. maybe you could get handed a dirty VR headset on the exit side.
  23. I feel that Revolution needed the VR to attract a crowd. I doubt any of the GP would be running to the park because Revolution received new trains and paint. If they didn't add the VR, I could bet that Revolution would have been back to a small 10 minute wait like it normally always had within weeks of opening i was looking forward to that. lol i like it, it would be totally worth riding without OTRs and a 5 minute wait. i'm still curious how it will pan out as far as popularity in the long run.
