  1. I think it's awesome they're putting so much work into the park. Can't wait to see it all when I visit for the first time ever in May!
  2. Finished mine! El Toro blows away every coaster by a lot. My worst is Hades. I haven't ridden the 360 version, and until they retrack that entire thing I have no intention to. The KK coasters may very well end up higher on the list once the park reopens them, I just don't remember them well enough to warrant a higher rating. Why did anyone care Rolling Thunder got demolished? I forgot how terrible it was until I filled this out. 3. I have noticed those extra wheels before, I assumed that they were there to bear the weight of the train if the running wheels were removed. Thanks for the correction! I hope you continue to post in this thread, you have awesome info! Maybe this is a dumb question, but what is that I-beam in the station of Batman for? I'm referring to the one that has all of the row numbers on it. Also, as far as the flyers go, I assume the storage wheels are the ones that fit into the station I-beam that moves to switch the train in between the load and flying position?
  4. The Bears sure laid a turd last night. The defense is beyond awful, and has been all year. If they ro end up making it to the playoffs, it'll be a first round blowout! Hopefully they can revamp the secondary and find a coordinator that works. I don't think Mel Tucker is the answer.
  5. They don't...they're the exception to the rule since there's no way for them to hang without being on their wheels. Here's the storage tracks of Crystal Wings at Happy Valley, which is a Superman Ultimate Flight clone.
  6. ^^Thanks for sharing all that!! One of the best posts I've seen in awhile. I knew the B&M transfer tracks were set up like that, I always assumed that was to make wheel inspections and changeouts easier, but I never knew the flat wheel issue was the real reason. Totally makes sense, though! Really goes to show how much engineering goes into their coasters. The Arrow mega loopers had an estimated 2000pph capacity with 4 trains. They mention it at 1:03 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2J1cE59yBY
  7. ^Good question. I guess for the same reason they decided that the guide and upstop wheels can just sit off of the track and leave the train to bang around every time it moves through the ride course! Most coasters require a crane to change the lift motor- just a much shorter one than Ninja or an SLC would need. Putting the motor at the top of the lift does seem stupid!
  8. I know at least some of the SLCs have the lift motor at the top of the lift as well. Maybe even all of them? You can hear it "whirring" at the top of the lift on every SLC I've ever ridden.
  9. ^Count me as one of them! LOL!! If the iPhone had the screen size of my Note 2 I'd consider one. Getting back on topic- I prefer Pepsi to Coke, but Coke is good, too. Cherry Coke DESTROYS Cherry Pepsi. Both Coke and Pepsi aren't as good as RC Cola, IMO.
  10. Why don't all these people fight for something that is actually a problem?
  11. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon. Best phone I've ever had! I sure wish I had unlimited data, though.
  12. Great report, thanks for sharing! I'd love to attend this event some day.
  13. ^True, but how much would that really damage the NBA in the long term? Some people would be mad for awhile, but they'd get over it. There's definitely a good business case to shut it down. Maybe it's more popular by you? In Chicago the Sky struggle to bring in even 5,000 fans a night.
  14. Neat!! I guess they learned from TTD! I'm pretty sure I remember reading or hearing somewhere that there are trims on the top of KK that TTD doesn't have so you get a bit more time at the top.
  15. I love nearly all Huss flats. Condors are my favorite! I ALWAYS ride Condor at SFGAm when I visit. I ride the train at every park I visit as well. Any train with real steam is awesome, but the best train ever is the one at Knoebels. I ALWAYS ride it once it gets dark- I usually make it my last ride before closing. I have to be the only enthusiast that rides the Knoebels train after close and not Phoenix like everyone else!
  16. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the league when Stern finally retires next year. I love the NBA, but some things need to change. If nothing else, I bet the WNBA finally gets shut down, do the NBA can quit pouring money into it. My Bulls are tanking without even trying to! Couldn't even beat the Orlando Magic. Let that sink in!

  18. I feel the same exact way!! I ride literally EVERY coaster in the back row. I've tried the front on nearly every one I've been on, and I just don't care for it. TTD and KK are different though. I've ridden both in the back and thought they were ok, but the front row is OMFG WOW!!! The launch feels twice as strong in the front row. Those are the only 2 coasters I feel that way about. That being said, everyone go ride them in other rows so the line for the front is shorter if I'm in the park .
  19. Stupid Cowboys couldn't win the only game I've ever wanted them to win! I don't even think I care if the Bears make the playoffs. Their defense is so terrible they're not going to get past the 1st round, anyway. It was nice to see Cutler have a pretty good 1st game back, and against a good defense to boot!
  20. I have no problem with concrete trenches, but I think one filled with stone would look really cool on Banshee.
  21. On SFGAm's Whizzer if you press the lift stop button, the train can not be restarted. The mechanics have to push the train all the way to the top of the spiral lift by hand. It also has kicker wheels near the crests of hills that will pop up and push the train over the hills if it starts to valley.
  22. Where can I go to place my bet that whenever X2 finally does reopen, a week later they will reduce to single train operation to start rehab on the others, rather than doing it on all of them now?
