  1. I've ridden the one that comes to the MN state fair each year a couple times. I've never been more terrified on a ride, not because the ride itself was scary, but because I'm always paranoid the door is going to fly open.
  2. I've had the Millennium Force theme song as my ringtone for years. Last summer when my buddy and I were driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, we drove past Buffalo Bill's, but my friend was tired and didn't want to stop to ride Desperado. I died a little bit inside.
  3. Did anyone else notice the seatbelts at the 12-13 second mark? Sorry if it's been discussed already, I just noticed it for the first time.
  4. I gotta go with Banshee. I love everything about the ride; the theme, colors, logo, trains
  5. I think a ZacSpin would also be a good fit for the park.
  6. Here in Fargo, North Dakota, one of the local radio stations posted about it on their Facebook page. Like you said, Fury is going to be bringing in people from all over the U.S. (Including myself )
  7. I wonder why GateKeeper's control panel changed. Anyone know more?
  8. To be totally honest, I actually really liked Scream's colors. I thought it made the ride stand out. (However, I grew less fond of colors as they became sun faded).
  9. I like them, which is why I always get one when I go to a park I know I won't visit again for some time. In the past I've gotten Fast Lane for Cedar Point, and the Flash Pass for SFGam and SFMM. I think I prefer the Fast Lane over the Flash Pass.
  10. We at Nickelodeon Universe do not allow Go-Pros on any of our rides. This one time when I was working at the Fairly Odd Coaster, a kid came up to the ride wearing a bicycle helmet with a Go-Pro attached to the top. It looked absolutely ridiculous, and of course I had to tell him it wasn't allowed on the ride.
  11. I believe it's because the track is the "older" style track. Didn't they have to widen Banshee's track to accommodate the new style trains? Wow I didn't even think of that. Thanks for clarifying
  12. While I'm going to miss Mantis (it's one of my favorite coasters in the park) we all knew this was coming. I love the new name and logo, but I was kind of expecting a new style of floorless trains, similar to Banshee's.
  13. ^^ I understand what you mean by saying we could do better than a Vekoma, but seeing that our last coaster (Spongebob) was aimed at thrill seekers, the parks wants something aimed towards families this time, and I think a Jr. Suspended coaster would fit very well with the park. I am sad to see Jimmy and Danny potentially removed though. They're two of my favorite flats.
  14. I noticed that when I rode it yesterday too.. I really hope it's not permanent. What time of day did you ride it? I rode it close to park closing , and I noticed a man from maintenance was in the control booth too, so I was thinking it was just a temporary thing.
  15. I went to Valleyfair tonight for the first time this season to check out Route 76. The new area looks really nice! I decided to take a spin on Steel Venom only to find something interesting...The holding break wasn't on. Does anyone know anymore about this? I watched several cycles all of them didn't use the holding break.
  16. The new zipline has been very popular with the guests in the park. I heard that the day it opened, there was an hour - two hour wait for it. I got to test it before it opened to the public and it is a fun ride. Not very thrilling, but it does provide some cool views of the rest of park. In other news, there are many rumors going around the park right now that Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Collider and Danny Phantom's Ghost Zone will be closing by the end of year due to the scarcity of parts for those rides (one of Jimmy's arms no longer spins because maintenance doesn't have the parts to fix it). What is going to replace those two rides? I've been hearing a Vekoma jr. suspended coaster, but I don't know how true that is.
  17. This ride looks awesome! I really like the logo too.
  18. I think you're forgetting that Chile is in the Southern Hemisphere.
  19. As a past employee of Valleyfair, I can confirm the "fair" in "Cedar Fair" came from Valleyfair.
  20. I hope they post a picture of the control panel! The ride looks great, I'll have to make a trip out to ride it this summer.
  21. Here are a couple that I have. Sorry for the cell phone quality, I'll try to snap some more the next time I'm at work. I think it's interesting how similar rides can have such different looking control panels; If I remember correctly, Steel Venom's looks more like Avatar's than it does Vertical Velocity's. Nickelodeon Universe's Avatar Airbender SFGAm's Giant Drop SFGAm's Vertical Velocity
  22. 1. Nickelodeon Universe - 20 minutes 2. Valleyfair - 30 minutes 3. Mt. Olympus - About 3.5 hours.
  23. Kraken, it's the only one I've been on.
